@@wtorules4743 i'm from france and hear them in the summer, i love it, at the end of the day, with the sunset, and the temperature becoming more soft and hearing it, aaah nostalgia
From what Ive heared...Because they are literally everywhere and anywhere in summertime. Even in Tokyo. Also very loud in an otherwise pretty calm country
Evangelion.... every outside or rooftop scene. There is this vibe of isolation. Like yeah people exist, but due to second impact, you treasure every little interaction with them. And just Shinji sitting there, contemplating why he really exists on that roof really speaks to me. Because sometimes I do the same on a swing, or out in the woods.
i'm from the south and these sounds just spark something in me like nothing else. I miss being a kid and having the cicada screams lull me to sleep in a tent in the backyard. It's so nice that there's people across the world who got to grow up with that same sound.
Sounds like Oklahoma summer nights, I live out in the country and there’s something about the noises that just make me happy and sad at the same time. It’s a good feeling though, even if it is melancholy :)
constellation i agree completely. I’d spend every summer at my grandparents in oklahoma when i was a kid and while the sound of cicadas is grating somehow i still enjoy it. I guess its just nostalgic
I was just taking a walk in my local graveyard where my grandma's buried and I was having some memories flood back. She died a week before Christmas in 2020. These sounds are pretty similar to the summer sounds when it would be getting dusk and I would have to go in for the night and I was playing with all my friends. Then as soon as she went to bed we all went back out and played night tag and stuff like that but man so many good memories. That was in the mid to late '80s.
I know this is labeled “Japan” but it reminds me of the time I would visit China and I would be with my mom side of the family in the farm areas and this sound just brings back all those memories of late night motorcycling and eating longan while sitting outside in the sun.
@@Katragine Tf do you mean "you can't do anything"?? There's plenty you can do to cool off, including but not limited to getting in the pool, ocean water, water parks, etc., drinking really cold drink/water with lots of ice, eating icees/Italian/shaved ice cups, eating popsicles/ice cream, get in the shade (although it only helps a little), etc., etc. When it's really cold, there's only so much you can do, which is put on a crap ton of layers & a heavy coat, which is really uncomfortable & can make you sweat (which can also get cold), drink hot cocoa/coffee/tea, & sit right next to a bonfire. And that blanket ain't gonna do sh!t when it's really cold. And you can only do that inside a house anyway.
@@CrysisOwnsHaloi rather die from the cold than from a heatwave. The heat makes it unbearable to function whilst in the cold your still up to your game
This is so relaxing and sounds nice with music. Even if I'm not actually in summer or aren't outside, this is so warm somehow and makes me feel like I'm there. Thank you so much :)
i just moved up north a couple of months ago, during the winter. i was told by coworkers that there aren't cicadas up here in the summer, and realized just how much i love the sound of their droning. i decided to look up their sound, and was instantly hit with a wave of homesickness for texas, suddenly back to my young years as a child running around my neighborhoods, the sound of cicadas an unnoticed symphony in the background. thank you so much
Cicadas are up north, as far north as lower Michigan, lower Wisconsin, & even around Ithica, NY, actually. They just aren't in Minnesota, upper Wisconsin, most of Michigan, most of Upstate NY, or most of New England.
Those cicada sounds are pretty soothing, though my neck keeps itching for some weird reason... Eh, maybe it's just me. Anywho, better grab a slice of bread and sprint all the way to school!
grew up in the southern reigon. our apartment complex was flooded with cicadas at night and we'd keep our windows slightly open so we could get the cool air and the cicada white noise. :)
it's starting to get colder and for some reason I always miss the sounds of cicadas in the winter even though I hate it during the middle of the summer lol. So here I am trying to get some serotonin during these trying times
Remind me of my home when I was 9th in 1999, Bima NTB...at the day of summer, during the sound, I was falling a sleep under the tree covering the sun light...
For years I thought for some reason the high-pitched keening sound outside in the morning was just the sound the sun made in the morning. I would pay a lot to have it back where I live now...
Why would anyone want to listen to this on purpose?! I have tinnitus and this is exactly what it sounds like. Trust me, you don't want to get this in your head.
Yup! That’s them! Just checking it the sound I keep hearing is intact cicadas.. sounds exactly like it EXCEPT the noise I’m hearing rises and falls goes silent and then starts again in repetition..?
" Cicadas were once humans who, in ancient times, allowed the first Muses to enchant them into singing and dancing for so long they stopped eating and sleeping and died without noticing. The Muses rewarded them with the gift of never needing food or sleep, and of singing from birth to death. The task of the Cicadas is to watch humans and report who honors the Muses and who does not."
