Living in Jamaica and 30% people don't pay bus.

The Q60 bus drivers take like 20 minute breaks in Manhattan, even if they’re late. That first stop needs supervisors. And also, they should reroute the Q25 or Q65 all along College Point Blvd. Main Street is way too congested, especially with buses.

Jesus Christ! The operator just sat in that seat for 2+ hours from Jamaica to Manhattan! God forbid the guy has to take a f’n leak!!

@@grazz7865 It takes 20-30 minutes to take a leak? Most of the time they’re on the phone or talking to another driver. Or smoking cigarettes. Also, let’s be honest here- this is a job that’s really meant for people who can hold it in for hours. They’re not always going to have terminal stops near bathrooms or with bathroom access. And in the case of the Q60, they’ll have 3 or 4 buses at the terminal stop, all the drivers taking long breaks. Regardless of who’s late or not. I doubt they would do that with a supervisor around.

@@toneriggz stop right there! I drive buses. I purposely limit my fluids so I’m not in pain in the seat-especially in the winter. There is no way in hell you can expect a human being to hold their water for hours -to put their health in jeopardy-so you can get on the bus 10 minutes sooner. I will agree some people are abusing the privilege taking extended breaks and smoking.

@@grazz7865 Big shock that you drive buses. Again, there’s no guarantee of finding an accessible bathroom. But that’s not even the problem, if it was a bathroom break and they had access to one, they wouldn’t be taking 20-30 minute breaks (unless they’re taking a 💩). Oftentimes they’re just standing around, talking to the other drivers, smoking, using their phones. A supervisor would keep the line moving.

Did you see that shot of the big empty bike lane. There is your problem. We are dividing our roads way too much for few that use them. That path can be designed for a bus lane. But as we know, the DOT is going to carve out more lanes from vehicles causing more congestion..

Painted lanes aren’t safe, and people don’t feel safe using them. We need more protected bike lanes and road diets. Also, some of the buses can be replaced with street cars. Congestion pricing is needed, but they also need to take into consideration that many who drive are from transit deserts, like southside Queens.

The DOT “improvements” have NOTHING to do with safety. This is all designed as a continued war against cars just to make driving as miserable as possible.
