I motorised a Kitmaster / Airfix Pug, even managing to fit a Hornby Zero One DCC loco module inside it. The year that I did this, Dapol came out with a RTR model of the Pug. I motorised a pair of Kitmaster / Airfix J94 saddle tank locos..... and then RTR versions appeared on the market. One of my GWR fanboy friends keeps asking me to motorise a Kitmaster / Airfix "City of Truro", because he wants a RTR model to appear on the market.
Sadly short lived and much missed - some of their models are still available under the Dapol lable, having rescued the tools some years ago. Not all the models on the sheet were actually produced - the Canadian Hudson, Flying Scotsman and USA Docktank never being released.
@stuartallen8684 I'd heard of them, but didn't know anything about them, andto be honest this came with another catalogue purchase, so now gotta find more of these ! 🙂
I've never seen this catyalogue either - it must have been produced just before they collapsed. A great shame. Their range was a little odd in terms of selection - the 'General' came from tools bought from a defunct American company; I suspect the Italian tank and Swiss 'Krokodil' were due to the popularity of Rivarossi and Maerklin models at the time; the French Mountain, US Hudson and German Prairie were well known, but to OO scale, not HO. They were beautiful models, in many ways ahead of their time and, yet, oddly, a little dated as well - the raised lining panels on tank and tender sides for example were a hang over from earlier plastic tooling techniques.
Thanks for sharing this video, John
