  • The Legal Status of Chemical Castration
Chemical Castration in Alabama is big news across the web. And yet, Alabama is not unique. Poland has compulsory chemical castration for child predators. The Czech Republic allows for voluntary surgical castration. Germany allowed surgical castration until relatively recently, and now allows for voluntary chemical castration. While many have the view that chemical castration has negative connotations like in the case of Alan Turing, in the 21st century, chemical castration is largely restricted to pedophiles and those targetting youths under the age of 15. Some would say we've had great progress since the days of Turing, while others would say castration is a brutal human rights violation that must be abolished.
Whatever your stance is, I want to emphasize that this is not an issue of partian politics. Countries both conservative and liberal have supported castration to one degree or another. Finding agreement on this issue requires that we acknowledge this as an issue that must be discussed as a matter of human rights and not as a matter of politics. #Castration

Now your comment on my video makes sense to me, but "child molesters should get the death penalty" presents many problems as well-intentioned as it is.
For one, I will say that if you are going to critique me on the basis of "evidence" then you should hold yourself to that same standard. You claim "you forfeit your rights when you violate someone else's" is a factually false statement because prisoners still have constitutional/legal/human rights.
Now as to your "child molesters should get the death penalty" view you don't support it, which is fine, because that wasn't the focus of this video, but perhaps you could do a follow-up video because I do think it would be an interesting one for you to make so you can elaborate on that uncommon position.
Just to push back on it...
"Since an estimated 80% of child sexual assaults are committed by family members, groups like Amacher's are concerned that mandatory sentence laws, not to mention the death penalty, might dissuade certain people from reporting abuse to authorities."
""If you give the same sentence for molesting a little girl as for molesting and killing a little girl, it seems an incentive to go ahead and kill her."
Do you think juries would be less likely to convict someone of child molestation if they were going to get the death penalty? I think so because it could be hard to prove "lewd intent" in addition the key witness is often a child, which creates other challenges, but I am open-minded to a contrary opinion here.
Do you think conversely that there is a greater chance more innocent people would get the death penalty because maybe an ex-girlfriend or ex-wife says that "he molested" my/our kid in order that she can get full-custody (I personally know stories of this happening) or out of just pure vindictiveness? I think so.

Very well thought out comment. I'll refer back to it if/when I do a video promoting the death penalty. You made a lot of good points especially regarding how the penalty for molestation vs killing should be different due to perverse incentives. I didn't see it that way.

my realistic position is that it shouldn't require consent for these punishments on pedophiles, we don't ask for consent when giving the death penalty. my regular opinion is that any option deemed humane is not enough

Castration does not cause side effects on body image person or animal only stops sexual function and reproducing

Alan Turing did not go after young boys. He was a Homosexual who sought lovers his own age. The posthumous pardon of Turing was correct.
