I'm such a dork. I love watching the newlyweds re runs over & over. I loved them together. They just seemed to be so good for each other. I read the article nick did shortly after the divorce & it makes me choke back tears. Its crazy how emotionally involved you can get just by watching the show. I truly believe nick loved jessica with his whole life. I also think jessica knew that and still does. I think Jessica now realizes what she really had in nick.

I thought they were cute, but I recently went back and watched Newlyweds. I was originally 17 when it aired and now I’m 35. Watching it now was totally different than it was watching it when I was younger. I see Nick appeared to be very annoyed with her at times. He was always belittling her calling her “spoiled” and stuff like that. It wasn’t anything too harsh, but I do see parts where he could’ve lighten up a little.

No, it was not one of the first reality shows. More than a decade before Newlyweds, there was the first season of "The Real World." I was in middle school for that first season & that was early 90s...that was the first true reality show.

Unfortunately if you listen to her book, it seems they were ill matched from the start. He’s a blunt person and she’s very sensitive. She felt he hated her by the end of the relationship.
Honestly, I always sensed that he was a bit envious of her success during 2003/2004, during this era! You can tell by some of the subtle facial expressions he made during their shows. They were a breathtakingly physically beautiful couple, but boy did Nick's ego couldn't get over the fact that she was bigger than him during that time!
