Thank you! The pdf files you have supplied are truly invaluable. With your lectures as a start, and the pdf's as back up and amplification of the material, I feel confident that I will master this system. After only two days, I already know enough to write almost anything. The system is not nearly as hard to learn as I'd feared. I was contemplating combining it with the speed writing system for even greater effect but I see many Greg words have similar abbreviations already. I tried Pitman years ago but I found the reliance on light and heavy strokes, as well as position in relation to a line, to be unwieldy.
I’ve been trying to learn Gregg shorthand for about a month now (my aim is to learn new skills or improve old ones during this quarantine, although I am a nurse and go into work as well). However, I just did not make enough progress. Now I watched all 5 lessons back to back (many thanks for producing them) and have noticed a huge improvement in a day. I especially found helpful your tip on writing out the phrases, then covering them and reading and writing them back into English and then writing them in Shorthand from that. I am using this to learn the abbreviations and phrase forms (joining more than one word together) as this is what was a barrier for me.
How great you’re making such progress! I have more shorthand videos on my channel that may be of use to you. You might also look at the homeschooling materials for study ideas.
Gene, As you note, the diagonal lines of t and d are easily confused in Gregg. That is why similar sounds were chosen for the similar lines. Normal handwriting has more redundancies built in for the sake of clarity. For instance, small I, T, and L are all indicated by vertical lines of different lengths. However, extra clues, the dot over the I and the cross in the t, have been added to minimize confusion. Gregg buys greater speed at the expense of less redundancy and more potential for confusion.
Thank you! It’s rare so see so many external resources in a youtube series. This saved me a bunch of money so thank you so much
Glad it helped!

Are you a teacher by profession? You did an excellent job providing relevant information in a concise manner, and ways to practice.
I taught full time for a while decades ago. Been teaching off and on through the years. Now I'm retired.
your A in small its confusing with smell E, your A should be bigger circle
Letter t looks like letter d when you spelled the word trace.
