Hi, whenever I practice stenography, I never forget to watch this video first. I am almost reaching 120 wpm after only practicing for a month. I remember during my 2nd yr college when I first watched your video, this video made me competitive and I aimed to surpass this. After only 5 months of online class, I managed to follow my professor's 100wpm test. I won 2nd place in our Stenography Quizbee. I got the highest grade in our subject. So thank you for this amazing video. Once I reach 120 wpm with minimal errors, I will comment again.
Hi, I am stenography learner I completed my basics but I don't know how to improve the speed may you give me suggestions and tips to build my stenography speed it will very helpful to me.
@kiranpaliwal7152 I am not that far along yet, but I would try starting with dictations at a low WPM rate, and keep practicing at the rate until you feel confident, then increase the rate.
OMG this is so cool. Just bought Gregg shorthand manual simplified 2nd edition. Thank you for the video. I hope I am not too old for this. p.s. I hope this doesn't sound corny, you should be a hand model.
If you get the proper version of Gregg and work little hard you may get the same speed within 2 months, you also need right books in order to get that speed
What are some methods of practice you would suggest to a beginner? I just picked it up a few days ago and I find the script easy enough, but the speed is a whole other ball game
I have made a video presenting Pitman shorthand. I had to revise it recently to correct the focus. Gregg shorthand is just as good; I am not trying to be competitive!
In English we would call this a shorthand or a stenography system. "Tachygraphy" is also a possible word with Greek root-words, but it is less recognizable.
@zamuriaz Not impressive? Even if you CAN write longhand at 70 wpm, 120 wpm is a 70% increase; and shorthand speeds can easily go to 200 wpm or more, speeds that longhand can't approach.
To record a dictation at x words per minute, you must pace yourself to read one-twelfth of x no. of words every 5 seconds. But in textbooks, do they count the LITERAL number of words regardless of length, or do they count as theoretical 5-letter words?
p.parthiban ashok One shorthand isn’t better than the other. It comes down to personal preference. Try both for a couple days and see which one you prefer.
No one else has to learn this removing all your school uniform one bit at a time? Miss would take off my “shy parts” and always compliment me on it when boy things happened that embarrassed me, made me feel great when she did. She would touch it briefly and I was desperate for her to more but she didn’t - sure it was an education tool. Looking back and hearing from others it does seem weird though.

Why don't you use a steno pad?
Or, seeing that this is from 2008, do you use a steno pad now? I think they're like a buck a Walmart. Or cheaper
here in brasil we know this like TAQUIGRAFIA

-in longhand- "Oh shut up!"
What version of Gregg is this?

This video you commented on is not Pitman. I have recently set up my own video which does show what Pitman shorthand is!

She clearly wasn’t a good teacher because you’re so bad at writing
you dont have to move your hand as much so you can write faster.
