🤣😂🤣- 1975 was a good year... end of Vietnam conflict, the movie JAWS came out and the Boss released the iconic album “Born To Run”.... and the world was introduced to a baby bow builder! 🤣😂🤣
Love the vintage Coleman equipment. I still have the model 431 stove I bought in the late 70s, and a gas lantern from the 80s. Both still in perfect condition! Oh - if your cast iron is properly seasoned, it is the original "non-stick" cooking utensil, and won't need the spray lube... LOL! Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching, and commenting!👍🏻 You’re right about the cast iron, but I’ve never had a piece that kept its “non- stickiness” without an occasional squirt or pad of oily help... is the 431 a Canadian Coleman? One of my friends @mustang774 has one of those
@@CarolinaChrisOutdoors Hi - thanks for the reply! Yes, the 431 is a Canadian Coleman, similar to the 425. I love it! And I use avocado oil to season my cast iron. Yes, it does require re-application once in a while, LOL! Best wishes to you and Happy Camping!
First “store-bought” canvas tent I ever slept in as an adult.... I’m so lucky to have found this old classic American tent.... sure beats my homemade one!!!
Enjoyed the Coleman stuff that’s cool. I love the vintage stuff in good shape. I feel bad now, I should go their too and see everyone at the camp out. No excuses. I applaud 👏🏻 you for going and seeing everyone.
Nice stove stand. Tent is awesome. You could not make up your mind so I put this video on the CIW playlist. Looked like fun place to be. I hope you have a few more videos up your sleeve. Thank you for the tour. Stay safe and stay warm
The mountain air and the sound of a good flowing river sure can recharge the ol’ batteries.... I just wish I would’ve bought a fishing license. I do every year, and never catch anything. This year I didn’t get one, and everybody caught trout!!!! 🤣😂🤣
Thanks Tracy! It’s fun setting it all up! Also fun to use similar gear we used as little kids... really brings back some good memories of family camping trips.
My dad had a canvas tent, I remember going camping in it when I was a little boy. It wasn't as big as yours. We also had a full sized cotton mattress that weighed a ton by itself. Mom and dad said they were taking me camping when I was still (cloth) diapers. I'd like to go to more meet ups but I'm limited on vacation days. Thanks for sharing.
Don’t worry Luther.... I show it better in an upcoming video! 👍🏻 Plus, it won’t be the last time I use it. I just got it two weeks ago and this was the maiden voyage 😂🤣😂

Love how you set your camp up, Chris! The lantern, stove and tent looked all vintage and they are bomb proof. Lunch looked great and I’d say this is a great tailgate Thursday my friend. Great video and thanks for sharing. Take care.
That old Coleman Tent is pretty nice Chris. Coleman always did make great camping gear. The are owned by Newell Brands now but don't know if they make the same camping gear they used to. Yes indeed spam and beans the all American lunch. Thanks for sharing Chris.

Nice, I may finally get to hit the woods this weekend. I have a similar tent, a kodiak canvas. It has a front and side door. An awning over the side door and a detachable screen room on the front. I love that tent due to the big doors and windows on all sides. Weighs right at 100 lbs the floor is very rubberized. We've been getting around 40-50 degree nights and 75'ish days. 65 next week though. I'm 10 minutes as the crow flies from KY, right on the Cumberland river. Looked like a fun time. TC and ATB, Cris.

Hey Chris, I don’t think that you have a Coleman tent. That thing is the Coleman “Castle” 😅 That is quite a comfortable setup you have. It is like a canvas hotel suite. Good time out Chris with some good equipment. I have but one question in the for of pest control.Cooler times keep them at bay, but what about sunny afternoons?
Hey Jack.... this is the first time I used this tent, so I’ll learn more about using it in other seasons soon. I’m a hammock camper usually but it sure was nice waking up and making my coffee without going outside!
Ha Ha Ha!!!!!!!!! It took me a while, and I had to ask a couple buddies.... it’s designed to fit a variety of stoves, coolers, table tops and even garbage bags. You just have to play around with it to find the best set up for whatever you’re using it for. Good luck, and thanks for watching! 👍🏻
I was pleasantly surprised Steve... not a single drop of rain in the tent. I did put a tarp on top that covered 3/4 of it since it was the first time I took it camping, but I have confidence it won’t leak now... it’s an awesome tent!
Probably... I suppose you’d have to sew in a stove jack and protect the floor some kind of way. I wouldn’t do it to this one though... if I had a beat up one, I might try it but this one looks to good. Especially for 50 years old. Thanks for watching!!!
I found a coleman holiday 2 , 9x7 model number 8425a 797 tent at a thrift store. Do you by chance know what year it was made? I can't seem to find anything on it. Thanks. Love your set up.
@@CarolinaChrisOutdoors thank you. It is blue with a white top and the bottom is like a darker tan. All the poles and original instructions seem to be together. I'll see if I can set it up one day.

Hey Jack.... this is the first time I used this tent, so I’ll learn more about using it in other seasons soon. I’m a hammock camper usually but it sure was nice waking up and making my coffee without going outside!
Man… I forgot all about this meet up.
Nice!!
I bought one of those stove stands at a garage sale, and I swear by God and sunny Jesus I cannot figure out how it’s supposed to be set up.
That Tent !!!! ⛺
Good turn out !
How did the tent hold up to the rain Chris!
Nice set up. Nice love for Coleman
Always a pleasure, thanks for taking us allong! 🇺🇸
I was pleasantly surprised Steve... not a single drop of rain in the tent. I did put a tarp on top that covered 3/4 of it since it was the first time I took it camping, but I have confidence it won’t leak now... it’s an awesome tent!
Love cookin on my Coleman..
only alcohol beer for me
🍺🍺🍺👍🏻
Could a wood stove be added to an old Coleman tent like this?
Probably... I suppose you’d have to sew in a stove jack and protect the floor some kind of way. I wouldn’t do it to this one though... if I had a beat up one, I might try it but this one looks to good. Especially for 50 years old. Thanks for watching!!!
Like no. 100 👍
Thanks Chef Bonesyardee 👍🏻
I found a coleman holiday 2 , 9x7 model number 8425a 797 tent at a thrift store. Do you by chance know what year it was made? I can't seem to find anything on it. Thanks. Love your set up.
Lucky find!!!! It has to be from the 70’s... is it blue and white?
@@CarolinaChrisOutdoors thank you. It is blue with a white top and the bottom is like a darker tan. All the poles and original instructions seem to be together. I'll see if I can set it up one day.
Wish I would have known about this.. Dang .. I would have brought the spam...lol
I halfway expected you to show up...I thought I read a comment you made on someone else’s channel about trying to come.... but maybe it was someone else. Next time there is one, I’ll say something about it in one of my videos 👍🏻
Does a Coleman pop up camper with generator count?
Yes Sir!!!!! I always wanted a pop up camper!
@@CarolinaChrisOutdoors Better get one before the get any higher. Just sold one we bought 3 years ago used and made a profit on it then went a got a bigger one
That's a roomy tent. You drinking Non Alcohol beer? Might as well drink some cold water. LOL. Cheers Chris.
Drinkable cold water is harder to find at my camp than cold NA beer....it mixes well with instant oatmeal too!😂🤣😂
Spam and beans that’s camping
Yep!
Where did you get the tent
DOOD!
Would loved to have watched the whole video, but could barely hear what you were saying.
Subscribed - Just found your channel. Awesome setup, looks like some great adventures. We just drove our 68 Scout and teardrop down from Alaska to Virginia. Nothing like some Vintage Overlanding, but it would have been very different in a Model T! (check out our channel). If you ever get up near Virginia look us up.
im first ha ha beat the rest of you lol
😂🤣😂 You’re quick Dark!
You’re so calming to my mind and soul thank you 🙏🏼 May Gods Angels guide and protect you always sir . Subscription activated 🙏🏼🤍

😱 omg… you used a actual lighter to start the stove!
