What a tremendous compliment to recognize Paul and the band at the 14:00 mark. An appreciation and respect of one artist to his fellow artists. Mel Tillis was a tremendous talent and one of the finest ambassadors the field of country music ever had.
    Class personified.

I grew up in the 70's, listening to what my parents listened to, and they had great taste in Music....Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, CCR, Mel Tillis, Gary Stewart, Fleetwood Mac, Ronnie Milsap, The Eagles, Buck Owens, KC & The Sunshine Band, Al Green...all the great stuff_ One of my favorite songs was always 'Stomp them grapes' by Mel Tillis_ What a cool guy_ Genuine, funny_ I missed one of his last shows, in Arlington, TX, regretably, not long B4 he died_ Feels like I lost a family member when he died

Wow, what a CLASS ACT Mel Tillis was! He passed in 2017, I was sad to hear about that. He wrote many songs, including RUBY, sung by other stars such as Kenny Rogers. In case some of you do not know Mel Tillis he was a country song writer and singer , and had a great voice for true country music. Listen to this story he told on the Ralph Emery show, its a riot, including Johnny Paycheck being with him. ruclips.net/video/UvfxysbzLOk/видео.html

My grandfather Ernest Adkins recruited him to be the lead singer in his band the Westerners during their time in Okinawa. Pretty cool knowing “Pop” played with Mel.

Wow Don. You really get these up quick after celeb passings. Nice work as always. Not to get greedy and it's a morbid subject considering he's still with us(barely). But any possibility we might be seeing some David Cassidy Late Night clips anytime soon? I'm fairly sure Charlie Manson or Malcolm Young were never on the show. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    • @dongiller
