Peace by Chocolate sounds lovely! I really enjoyed We Were Dreamers, but I found the section about Liu's parents more fascinating than the rest of the book. Still a great book to pick up though .
Peace by Chocolate has been a real success story, plus their chocolate is delicious. Thanks for your thoughts on We Were Dreamers. I've heard similar things. 😊💙
I would love to read Clara Hughes' memoir.... I am a sucker for books dealing with mental health and healing. I think Peace By Chocolate would be great too.
Also, what a fun challenge! I have just retroactively added the Canadian books that I have read this year to the Storygraph challenge, and put holds on library books for others!
Peace by Chocolate is wonderful. I read The Bittlemores and while I gave it a rating of 4 I didn't like it if that makes sense? The two latest by Rick Mercer were good audiobooks. My 5 * recommendation is Yearbook by Seth Rogan. I absolutely loved the audiobook. Hilarious and very raw. So many great suggestions, thanks Jolene.
Interesting that you rated a book you didn't like so highly... I think I get it though. Thanks for the tip about Mercer's audio books. I didn't realize Seth Rogan had a book out. I will look it up. 😊💙
@@BookwormAdventureGirl I know! I distinctly remember not liking it but when I looked at my GR review it was a 4. Written well, and the subject matter is important but I think it was the tone of the book that put me off. Hard to describe I guess 🤷🏾♀️
Thanks for the Romeo Dallare recommendations. I remember the Terry Fox run well.
I have enjoyed all of Romeo Dallaire's books. He is one of my favourite Canadian. Terry Fox is a legend. 😊💙

I added the movie "Peace by Chocolate" to my list - its trailer looked so good!
Yay! I hope you enjoy it when you watch it.
Amazing list!! I love Wab Kinew’s memoir. Read it a few years ago & it’s a favorite.
I think I may have heard of it from you. 😊💙
What a great list! I've read and loved a bunch of these. I read Maud Barlow (hush! She's a celebrity to *me!* ) memoir _Still Hopeful_ for this month.
I had to look up Maud Barlow. She sounds very interesting. 😊💙

She covers a lot in her memoir. I hope to eventually pick up peace by chocolate. 😊💙
This is a great list..! My next read from this list will probably be Simu Liu's memoir.
One day I will pick it up. I hope you enjoy it. 😊💙
If anyone is looking for a mystery/thriller type of suggestion, I'd recommend _Huge_ by Brent Butt.
Also, what a fun challenge! I have just retroactively added the Canadian books that I have read this year to the Storygraph challenge, and put holds on library books for others!
Huge is a good book recommendation. I still need to read it. 😊💙
Wonderful! Glad you are joining the challenge and have read books that already fit the prompts. 😊💙
