I have never considered this meaning for this passage. I had always assumed Nathaniel was within sight of where Christ was at some point. I never considered that Christ was in a completely different place, and Nathaniel was praying to Christ (unknowingly). Fascinating!

The apostles preached what would become the New Testament for years until they decided they should write it down. Youre thinking of the event where the bible was canonised, when the church leaders went through all the books of the bible they had access to and discarded the ones where an author could not be attributed to the writing which was an act of good record keeping.
Is it just me but does anybody else try to find connections…like for example im trying to see the connection and significance the fig tree has..like we see it in genesis when Adam and Eve use FIG LEAVES to cover themselves, Nathaniel under the fig tree, and when Jesus curses the fig tree for not bearing fruit. The cursed fruitless fig tree was an allegory by Jesus to reveal that the holy spirit left the fruitless temple of zion and Judaism. I think fig trees represent rest and cover as in the OT i think David like nathaniel restrd under a fig tree or something. God covered Adam and eve with figs to temporarily cover their sin, but it didn't remove the sin until Jesus came and removed the sin of Adam and Eve so now we can cover ourselves with more than just fig leaves but with the grace of the holy spirit.
