Hello sir Please show me, How can I do that When I build your code into my node mcu, It had a problem that is Error compiling for board NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module).
Hi - It seems that the FauxMo library version that you use doesn't support Gen3 Alexa devices and the newer library has switched to emulating Philips Hue bulbs, so your code doesn't work unless you have at least one Gen1 or Gen2 Alexa on the same network connected to the same Amazon account as the Gen3's
Hello! I am attempting to load this onto a Adafruit Feather HUZZAH but I get a compile error on the code saying "'allOff' was not declared in this scope" along with most of the effects such as "error: 'theaterChaseRainbow' was not declared in this scope case 10: theaterChaseRainbow(50);" etc. Any idea why it won't compile for me? All I changed was the data pin, number of pixels and wifi settings.
the video was great, but still don't know how to put a zipfile in the Library and you didn't show us, so I'm lost on how to do it because it's not showing up on the manage libraries
Hello Sid, I am trying to connect an Wemos D1 Mini to my 2. Generation Echo Plus acc. to your video. Programming the ESP is no problem. It also connects to my home network without problems. But if I try to find the new Devices in the "Smart Home" folder of my Alexa, Alexa can't find any new devices. Do you have any idea were I can search the problem? Thanks in advance, Andreas
Hi, Since it is an emulation, it is tricky to get the wemos listed in the app. It takes several tries. After you start searching for smart devices, try pressing the reset button on Wemos. Also, try to find the devices by asking Alexa to find (voice request) instead of using the app.
Can you use a nodemcu with Alexa to control pwm? I would like to use Alexa and 8266 to dim lights. My led driver is powered 120vac, this driver uses 0-10v to dim. If I connect the 2 dimming wires together I get full dim, separate them I get full bright, I want to use a mosfet and pwm to control these lights, any help is appreciated.
Jason Miles for best results you need to use zero crossing techniques with 128 or 256 steps of dim and full and for this its a small circuitry you can use which include some optocouplers and triacs
hi first hi give me a error... // fauxmo.onMessage(callback);...i put 2 line in front \\...and is charging ok and connect ok to my ssid problem is ...alexa canot find enny devices
hey nice video, but i would need some help with my setup. I first copied the code and everything works finde, but now alexa cant find my esp anymore and i just dont know why. 2nd problem is that not everytime alaxe ist able to switch color etc. is that because of the 3.3V ? i dont use a logic inverter and i use 300 leds thanks for your help :)
1. Alexa locating the ESP will take a lot of tries, because of wemo emulation. After you start searching the device, press the reset button on the ESP, also try orally asking alexa to find smart devices. 2. When you are using 300 LEDs, i suppose that you are using external power supply. So what is the voltage rating of the poser supply ?
eMINEM , For accurate triggering of neopixels, the data voltage should be at least 75% of the supply voltage. So you really need a logic level shifter. And also, the LEDs and esp should share a common ground.
Update, with 12 leds it works fine i think, only problem is that when i am turning the leds off, some go off and on again than stay on for 5 sek and go out. did you programmed that ? ;:) thanks so for the code really great work i just need to get a logic level inverter i think. Do you have one ? the link in the descirbtion does not work. Thank you
zhou king For me it worked with the code from the video in the text below. I first tried the original code with some rgb leds same as in the video. Enter your wifi data and Passwort into code, Upload it to the wemos d1 Mini, restart the wemos d1 mini. You see if it connects correct in the serial monitor. And when connected to the same wlan like your echo dot ist, then search for devices in the Alexa app. Try several times
Thank you! Very nicely done, allthough you triggered my echo dot at the beginning when you were demonstrating :D
thank you it worked right out of the box with no modifications.
absolutely lovely
Very Nice....Keep it up...
Very nice ...
I have RGB LED may I make my own RGB stripe is this possible
nice video can you make the leds also when you talking i mean the same as the alexa device
greets keep on going
Very nice and how many commands per ESP that we can give by your codes ?
Amazon Alexa allows a maximum of 16 smart actions.
Hello sir

Try changing the TCP port in the library file to 80
@@SidsEClassroom whats the process for doing this?
Use fauxmo library 2.2.1

someone plead redo this video in detail PLEASE
Hi!
Nice, but I was wondering, will it work on a Wemos D1, NOT pro ?
It will work with any NodeMCU or ESP boards.
Hello Sid, Could you help me to set brightness by commanding Alexa? Something like set brightness 50 , set brightness 255 etc?
Hi Sid,
Is this applicable for any RGB strip or limited to neopixel ones?
I'm sure if you have the relevant library for your LEDs you can just change it.

Download the latest fauxmo library, its been updated to support Gen 2 Devices.

I can't find it with Alexa, And i have IT connected to WiFi

I tried to copy the code and paste it on the arduino program but it creates an error loading module mcu and I do not understand the reason
Do we not need to write any Alexa code or Alexa skill to do this?
Ashish Jha
You have to start the “search devices” routine in alexa. Then u can group or rename them with the alexa app, but this is not necessary
Is there a way that Alexa can control the brightness?
dear sir my echo is not discover so plzzzzzz help
Please help me , this code not upload, error message show

Please help me ,( code ).
This can be resolve by downgrading fauxmoESP version to 2.2.1 in Arduino. I had it worked.

i try to only use 12 leds like you do, maybe that helps so i know if i have to use a logic level inverter

Whare I can find the code
How ajust the Brightness?
im trying to find same thing :/
what alexa skill to be installed. My Alexa is not finding any device.
Sanjay Jude D'Souza
You just got to “search devices” -> “other” and then they will be found.
i try it but still can't found , i have to change in any code?@@CustomMaDe-eo2wx
