The best line in this movie is right at the end of this clip: "It seems foolish. Days of robbing banks and trying to live to spend the money. They're long gone. Long gone for sure." It sums up the hopelessness.

No country for old men is like a western. But Sheridan and McCarthy are on equal footing I think. One a novelist the other a screenwriter. Both the best of the best at their respective crafts

The waitress at 3:38 is the same waitress from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul. She’s the one at the diner Mike always goes to. In Breaking Bad she’s there when Lydia meets Mike about the 10 people she wants killed. I’m Better Call Saul Hector Salamanca meets Mike there to offer him $5,000 to take the gun charge do Tuco doesn’t get stuck with it

@@GW71093 I like the lil ploy to get the same banks they are robbing to manage their money to avoid suspicion.
      Clever twist.
The part about cleaning the money thru the casino tho ..... security would notice them buying chips in quantity and then not gambling. They should go lose some at crowded tables.
If you cash ouit too much at one time, the casino has to get you to sign IRS paperwork.

The waitress is funny. They rob a bank, and gave her a crazy $200 tip of stolen money on about $20 of food. And she thinks she's entitled to keep it, even though it's stolen. And she knows it's a crazy tip considering it's "half my mortgage".
But you can bet if her husband stole a piece of her heirloom family jewelry to give to his mistress, she wouldn't accept the mistress saying "nah uh, he gave it to me as a gift, too bad if he stole it from you, he gave it to me as a gift, it's mine now." Without double standards, she wouldn't have any.
