Lyrics:
Look out behind you
Jojo's got his gun
He wouldn't mean to
But you know he likes his fun
Jojo dig those spinning lights
Way out games and dizzy heights
Below him
Jojo dig those Broadway nights
And flashy lines
You know him
He got you covered
You'll know it right out front
Hey, fifty dollars
He'll get you all you want
Ever so rarely, that man in a billion is born
Gentle and soft but who'd just as soon off you
For looking the wrong way as not
Go Jo
His baby stays high
Got to keep her sweet
He keeps her just right
Keeps her on the street
Say, what do you think
Of gentlemen wearing mink?
Gentle and soft
But who'd just as soon off you as not
Go Jo

I’m Japanese!!
But I love this music. Music has no borders!!
Nor sea routes, especially if you live on an island nation
Music has no borders.
🙂
I agree 100% ! I'm living in France and I listen Japanese music as DJ Kawasaki, Jazztronik,Lena Fuji, Cargo etc etc ! No borders ! Greetings from France.

Jeff Porcaro was the ultimate drummer that ever lived!
Blue Eyed Soul at its finest.

I’m 43 years old. When I was a child my mom would play earth, wind and fire. Anita baker, Michael mcdonald, simply red, etc. I went to visit my mom yesterday , she is 80 years old. She was playing this song ……such fun memories she said with a giggle.
That’s a nice story thanks for sharing
God bless her ❤😀🙏
YOU have an Awesome mom with SUPERB MUSICAL taste ! I was sweet 16 the great summer of 80 . This transports me big time! One of the greatest songs I ever 💕 heard.. Say hello to your mom
from a " fellow" 🎶 music lover who also ADORES this song. I bet ur mom also has some great stories that she equates this song with; I do . Time to play it again now. ! PEACE to yr cool 😎 mom !🌜✨️🌠 💗 🩵 🌝 ✌ ✨️✨️🌙
Your mother has brilliant taste in music!
Your mom has great taste! I haven't thought or heard an Anita Baker song in a long time.
I swear he hired angels to sing backup with him🕊
Oh, big time. His background singers for his live concert aways back are awesome

Aww. I missed him when he was here in Chicago a few ago.
Always been a boz scaggs fan. That man made great music. I'm 58 years old and still enjoy it.
I was 25 and worked nights and this song played often. Never grows old. Blessings!
I'm 87 and still love his rendition of JO JO!!
It's been a year with this comment you are my age now 59
*We don't look for old songs, we look* *for the memories they carry.*

72 years in two weeks and this still sounds as fresh as it was when it first came out.
This Dude has a lot of Soul in Him..😎
We had the best of the best. Clubs, music, movies, imagination, Sunday roasts at Grandma's house, poker nights, 8mm home movies, charades, family, bottled peaches, love xxxxxxxx

This song is a damn funky jazzy masterpiece.
So glad I grew up with this music. Timeless and classic.
Yes, simply good music!
I grew up to Boz in the 70’s To now. Still listening to Boz.

Love Boz,, I love ❤️ all his music. He is a legend of his time . Classicwith a “class act”.
So did I
It is so true: the singers and musicians of today cannot compare to the music of this era! I absolutely LOVE the saxophone and brass in this song. Boz just oozes with CLASS!!!😍😍😍
YES!!!!!!😎
This man has so much soul blues , & class ! 70's best decade of creative talented true singers !
👏🙋♂️🍷
I actually remember the 80's, when our parents said that shit about this music, too.
and....this band went on to make up most of Toto, what talent!
I agree
Boz Scaggs is an outstanding jazz musician. I enjoy his collection with every opportunity to listen intently. JoJo is definitely a classic
🙂🤪
Bozz the sharpest & smoothest of all stray cats in the 70s,.
IN the 70s, music was becoming free of racial boundaries. Whomever sang a good song no matter genre, was appreciated, accepted and cheered, if they did it right. Boz Scaggs was at the right place at the time on his record contract for a white boy singing like a soul brother!
Entièrement d’accord 👍
Exactly. Music is truly a universal language.
Just like when I worked in a factory in the seventies it seemed as though all black and white people got along very well compared to today. 80% of the music I grew up with was black music and I am white. I miss those days so badly and I miss that job I used to have.
This was a HIT in Black Clubs! Hell, Black People LOVE Boz Scaggs!!
That’s awesome!
He, Hall & Oates, had soul in them.
Black people thought Boz Scaggs was Black, OK!
@@scottgrimes1287Don't forget Bobby Caldwell. Rest in paradise Bobby 💔🙏💔
He had such a unique voice and style I love his music. I am 61 years old and learning how to play the ukulele and guitar and to my surprise doing well at it. Goes to prove you're never to old to learn. Rock On People .
The sisters doing the backup singing they are killing it
I've been fb friends with the one, in the middle, for three years. One of the original Ikettes, sang with more than 300 major artists. Splendid lady, with a great sense of humor.
Yaaaaassssss!
Hey Boz I love singing your song Jo Jo at kaeoka
My aunt Paulette in the red shirt is one of the back up singers and my uncle which is her husband is playing the Congas. RIP aunt Paulette.
@1:11, 1:56 -- Looks like Boz is showing his appreciation.
So sad that unless kids today have parents or someone else to introduce them to this coolness, they will never hear such great music.
look how long it took them to find that Fleetwood Mac song - skateboard & cranberry juice?
That’s very ture
Yes
the algorithm works wonders my friend
My parents played this all over the house when I was a toddler! Now I’m play them with my friends, and they’re like, “Damn, how you know all these old jams?” My parents!
Boz Scaggs one of the best, old school performers.
U ARE RIGHT ON ❕❕❕‼BOZ SCAGGS IS UNIQUE ..HAS ALWAYS BEEN ..YA KNOW ITS THEM ..AND NOONE ELSE THE INSTANT IT COMES ON ..AND PHENOMONAL MUSIC VOICES LYRICS!!! WHAT MORE CAN U ASK FOR ? ME ..NOTHIN THEY ARE STAND OUTS!!🌜🌠🌌🌃🌉🌝🌕🌛⭐🌙
@Hiccum Blurpaedius What are you talking about, a loyalist to what?
What do you mean old school? Ability doesn't get lost with age. He still perform's today.
The DIRTY LOW DOWN
Just look how Bozz is interacting with the backup singers. Their having a GREAT time making music together!
Tal CUAL..👍

That's for the clip 😉
Noticed that this is Toto performing with him?
Boz and David Paich were joint songwriters on much of his output, and if it hadn't been for Silk Degrees (on which Toto's members all played) maybe Toto would never have materialised.......which would have been an absolute tragedy of mega proportions as they remain the greatest ensemble of talented musicians to ever walk on a stage (in my humble opinion of course)!
66 and HAS to groove to this!
Only Boz, David Foster, and Toto could make a song about a murderous pimp sound so cool.
David Foster, not on my mix.
No David Foster. Boz, Toto yes, David Foster no
David Foster, no. He's a narcissist. Bot, Toto, yes indeed.
According to Wikipedia, this song was co-written by Boz, David Lasley, and David Foster. David Lasley sang backup with James Taylor for many years before his death in 2021.
David Foster, can't stand him.
Boz Scaggs is in a league of his own. His music oozes CLASS, from Lowdon, to this, . . .
Amen
Damn right! A totally underrated talent! Wow!
Long before "Lowdown".
Boz was one of the most underated musicians if his time..He had so many great songs ..JoJo is one of my Favorites..
john hunt
john hunt l see. l never heard this and the first note grabbed me just like Low Down did in 73 or 74, :)
This is 2016, don't scare us like that. Just checked. Boz is still alive.
He's still performing! I'm seeing him at the end of this month in Florida! I can't wait!
'75?
Real talent = Real Music 🙏🏽🙌🏽
One of the best songs of 1980..great fusion of disco, jazz and yacht rock rhythms
Fuck, we will never have music like this again. Well good thing we have RUclips.👍
When you are born in de fifties you dit grow up in the best time til now and the future. It wont be better
That's why the elite called it the classics and oldies.. they had to start putting out all that satanic garbage...
grew up in the 60s/70s i know the best and ony the best music!!
Tennek Trey I agree
second that :)
Man I could listen to this sing over and over everyday. Thank you Boz.
I feel the exact same way. One of the best songs (and Video) ever!!
Who is the keyboard player in JoJo Live? He has white shoes and stripe multi-color shirt?
Boz sings “Look out behind you, JoJo has his gun.... “ as Boz dances and sings behind Piano Player. Pianist looks up at Boz and smiles and keeps playing.
Who is this Dude????
Love pianist. Love Boz too.
Boz is wearing white/cream color suit with red-orange shirt.
ashagon you can’t beat him people, smooth soul my friends, the best all round any day!!
Anyone know the name of the pianist??
Beverly McNamara , David Paich?
Still slaps in 2024. Keep strapped.

"Say, what do say about gentlemen wearing mink?" - One the greatest lines in music history.
Saw him tonight in concert. He was great. Didn't know this was one of his hits too. He was so good. Not many people worth going to see these days. Boz is the man 11/22/2019 and he's still got it!!
Jo Jo your life is calling . Movie starring Richard Pryer about his sad life. This song was a part of that and about him Bozz is the man
Lido, Blackie and Jojo... what a cast of characters!
This masterpiece comes from the era when performers actually made music 🎶 and art. 😊
CLASS!!!!! Never will we see this music or artists of this caliber again. Thank you, Mr Scaggs.
I was a young American newlywed in Denmark in 1977 and had this album. I played it incessantly. Boz was the best.
Take some Boz, mix in some later Steely Dan and you've got yourself a musical feast. Smooth.
TITS!
Add some later Todd Rundgren too....such as his tune "Sweet"... luscious...
Your right there.... Steely Dan. Every song they did were hits that will and do stand against time.
Daryl New Zealand
Haha I like it! Good taste in music!😁👍
Someones watching breaking bad
Bozz nailed it with this song as he's done with all of them. Loved how the groups back then dressed and took pride in their appearance.
Boz Scaggs is the ultimate cool guy. His music is outstanding. Still listening to him since 1970's. Fantastic performer.
Lowdown, Jo Jo, Look what you’ve done to me, Lido Shuffle........... Buz Scaggs = Brilliant music
Very underrated singer, songwriter and musician of the mid to late 70s and early 80s. Thanks Boz for making my high school years and my early days in the military so enjoyable with some great jams. You're the best.
This is pure gold.
I was 5 years old when my father started playing this song. I just recently rediscovered it and I can’t believe how AWESOME it is! From the musicians, to the background singers to Boz’s whole DELIVERY…this song can’t miss!
I am a qualified lesbian
I'm 65, and I play this for my 9 year old granddaughter. She just seems dumbfounded that old people had such kool music.
speak for yourself. You are only as old as you feel.
The 70s were the best time for timeless music it's never get old ,,,,,,,,,
My son (around 12 at the time) quickly grew to love some Boz but also "Baby Come Back"/Player, "You'll Never Find/Rawls, and "Inside Out"/BeeGees.
Awesome I love turning people onto good music even songs about hookers and drugs
Thomas Rice
You're not old, l am 67 and feel like 37 and feel like I still have so much to do.
As my friend would say don't put yourself down rather put yourself up high man🤓
I have loved Boz's music since 1976! I finally saw him in concert a few years back. I love his music and his voice is outta this world!! He is my favorite musician!
Me too in 2014. Jojo one of my favorite in 1980.
Right you are Selina, I grew up listening to Bozz Scaggs and it brings back awful great memories, and some bad ones too. But it's all good :-)
1980
1989. All his music. His talent still exists. Will be timeless
My Dad introduced me to Boz Scaggs. I remember the album cover where he’s wearing the dark pink blazer. I was 10 in 1976. I grew up with the best music of the Bay Area. I never realized how much him and SRV look alike. listening to this music brings back great memories of my youth. I was thinking about it the other day that people in my age group saw some of the fastest shifts in society through technology. I literally went from being the youngest kid of 5, having to get up and adjust the TV😂 to today. The weird fact that Back to the Future has pretty much happened, no pun intended, minus the flying car and time travel. 🙄❤️
I saw Boz in concert in Greenville SC in 2016. BEST concert i have EVER been to. Great song!!
Talk about the coolest white dude ever
How bout AWB? whole lot of dudes from Scotland those were some day bro.........
We need more adult music like this, sophisticated and groovin’
I LOVE this song. Boz's voice is ssooo smooth!
I was 11 in 1980 and I remembered hearing this song a lot on the radio. I didn’t know who had sung this or even the title of the song but loved the music. Finally, today I solved the mystery and found it! I am so blessed that I grew up back then! Music like this will live on forever!
I have been listening to Boz since the 70’s and he is one of the best!!!
me too!
real musicians - with real instruments
From Toto
That's right!!!!😎🎸🎵🎶
This is Carlos Vega on drums...and Randy Kerber on piano...I think they were touring with Boz at the time. Jeff P. was on the album.
These days of music mastery are long gone....😔
With real imagination. The song takes you into Jojo's life as you can envision it as if you were there. Now that's creativity at its best!
Steve Miller taught Boz how to play guitar in late 60's!
This man is quality music! Every song is jut right. My first "arena" concert was the Eagles, 73 or 74. Opening band was Boz Scaggs. None of my friends were interested, we settled mid-way back from the stage. I heard something good, went down front and boogied through the whole set! Only time I saw him, but I started buying the LP's!
Came for the JoJo References..
Stayed for that righteous bass line 😎😎
Well he actually has been referenced in Jojo, so honestly you weren't far off

Ahead of his time. Way to rock it. A true legend!’
so far ahead of his time it still hasn't come!

The most awesome Ray Parker Jr. is playing the shimmery rhythm guitar.
This song is one of Boz's best ever it is sad more young people dont have a chance to hear this awesome music the sax is off the charts just draws you in and takes you incredible
Another fave Boz song. He has a rhythm that can only be described through his music. There are no words. Beloved 70's style flowing over into the 80's. 😇
So true
literally rhythm can only be described by music im pretty sure thats implied in the definition of rhythm
Coolest and smoothest dude

This man, smoother than silk. What's smoother than silk? That's right, Boz. Been listening to this man since early seventies. I regret I have only one life to live and listen. Thank goodness future generations will continue to discover and listen. He's been a gift to vinyl, tape, disc..... A LEGEND!!
The smoothest white man to ever walk the earth? Yes.
This music brought back memories. Hard to find music like this now. I have been listening to Allen Stone what a gifted voice. Honestly listening to music like Boz attracted me to RB jazz blues.
Mr. Boz Scaggs, in his younger days, and presently, still has a terrific sound, and unique voice. The songs are very dynamic and awe-inspiring.
That Boz! He rocked back then & he still rocks!
