the rabbi ruled that if the traveler has trouble praying with meaning in the airport - he shouldn’t pray there. In addition, he stressed that praying in churches was completely and strictly forbidden. In fact, it is forbidden to step into a church, he said.

The passage from Isaiah 53 about the suffering servant is not referring to Jesus. If one wants to understand the full context of this chapter, they must first read the previous chapter as its a direct follow up of Isaiah 52. The person being tormented and reviled is not referring to a singular person but describing the suffering and eventual redemption of the Jewish people. And whats ironic is that this prophecy came to pass in the Middle Ages (especially the 11th century) where Jews were tortured and killed by Crusaders and the Spanish Inquisition acting in the name of Jesus.

Actually, if you read the previous chapters for context, they talk about Israel's sin and the servant's obedience. Jews 1500 yrs ago (especially rabbis) thought that Isaiah 53 was a messianic prophecy. (For info on Isaiah, watch the Bible Project RUclips video on Isaiah)
Not only that, but the disciples (They were Jews too) believed that many of the prophecies we refer to today were messianic. Matthew quotes the TaNaK over 150x! One of these is Isaiah 53 and others that Matthew says refer to Yeshua. Not only does Matthew say these refer to Yeshua, but Yeshua himself says the scriptures refer to him! He said, and I'm paraphrasing (sorry!), "Do you not believe what Moses wrote? He wrote of me!". He also quotes Isaiah 9 talking about good news to the poor. The people in the synagogue tried to kill him because he was claiming to be the messiah. Jews thought these prophecies were messianic. Not only that, but Paul (A Jewish Pharisee that new the scriptures by heart) thought these were messianic also. I'll pray that Yeshua opens your eyes and shows you what was spoken of in the Law and Prophets. If you apply Jesus to the TaNaK, it makes much more sense that the New Testament is its completion. It speaks of the Jewish messiah who would redeem the world!

@Danny Thomas, Clearly you don't know Hebrew. Your quote of Isaiah chapter 9 is a false quote. You changed the wording of the verse. You even changed the tense from past to future tense. Here is a correct rendition of the verse.
'5 For a child has been born to us, a son given to us, and the authority is upon his shoulder, and the wondrous adviser, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, called his name, "the prince of peace." '

I'm saved by grace through faith! But I keep TORAH (law) because it shows us how to live our lives the way the Father desires. SIN IS TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW -1John 3:4 The law says don't eat pork. The law says to keep his feast days. The law says to the keep the sabbath HOLY despite how you misunderstand Paul, 2 Peter 3:16. Psalms 19:7 "The law (TORAH) of the Lord is PERFECT in converting the soul"...not just the laws your doctrine says is acceptable. Proverbs 4:2 "Forsake not the TORAH!"

Jesus was always telling his disciples why His Father had earlier on put up with harsh behaviour on their part. He tolerated the "hardness of their hearts" & even let them divorce their wives hoping to win them over when He came & died for them. When He came to them in person through His Representative, His Son who was experiencing their own earth experience, He began to expect MORE from them because He was THERE to help them be nicer to each other. His Kingdom is of Friendship, not selfishness!

To MuslimByChoice: We're all what we are by choice; Muslims are born into it; others choose to be Muslim by association because they don't know the TRUTH: Yeshua, Son of God who gave himself for every person from every tribe & nation. There is no other & never will be. We worship GOD wherever we are. There is no temple on earth that can house our GOD. His Holy Spirit is in us, wherever we are, HE is. Our bodies belong to HIM, those of us who know HIM personally. U can know Him too! Call on Him.

Do you have proof of that statement? He never had to offer sacrifice because he was perfect but I don't see where he is against it. God is the same yesterday today and tomorrow. God is the one who accepted animal sacrifice not what Cain offered.

  • @therealartwerx
    @therealartwerx 12 лет назад

regarding the "chicken story": how about trying not to be offensive to animal-lovers as well as Jewish people? Maybe humans are more important than animals, but if they LOVE those animals that deserves respect. folks likely to be won to Jesus are those retaining mercy in their souls who'd be turned off by that story & maybe not even listen to the rest of this! Proverbs 12:10 "A righteous person cares even about the life of his animals, but the compassion of wicked people is nothing but cruelty."

I mean neither you nor your ministry any harm. But it begs to be said. There are no last minute abortions, and no baby killings _such as has been suggested_ . I am **not** pro abortion, BTW. It's just that I happen to have found out that it is not a part of any law on the books that such a TIME be allowed by law for abortion -- UNLESS the life of the mother is seriously threatened as stated by her OBGYN. So-called "late term abortions" are therefore ONLY for the purpose of saving the life of the mother, and happen only very rarely and in certain cases, such as if there is no spinal column or no heart or other major organ in the baby's body.
Specific to each case would have to be a decision to be shared between the parents and the OBGYN.
Nobody takes it lightly, either. It is a painful, terrible thing that has made parents grieve. Thankfully, only a very TINY percentage of pregnant mothers have had to endure such a terrible thing as finding out they were carrying a dead child or a child who is lacking a vital organ or body part such as a brain or brain stem or other internally essential part.
MOST other abortions overall are done well before the time stated by law. I am not condoning any of those. I prefer preventative measures that work. Adoption is also better, obviously.
Having literally read the New York State Law that everybody of the faith seems to have been up in arms over *available to read for free, online), I can honestly state that I know that late term or last minute abortions or killings of newborns are not happening _in the ways that a lot of people say that they are_. That's the bottom line for me. So we Christians need to stop bearing such misnomers around as though we had every bit of the information needed before we speak on this subject. Sorry to need to say so, but that's just how things are as opposed to what we've been told.
P.S. I love to debate atheists and others about abortion. I like using science to debunk their ideas. No one can deny that the DNA in each newly fertilized egg is 100% HUMAN. They don't tend to like it very much when I say so, because it's true. :)

What do you think about Psalm 22? In this chapter the prophet speaks of himself as being even LOWER than a man!...describes himself as a worm! When you think about these physical bodies, are they any more than that? We eat food just as a worm eats earth, & then it flows through & is cast out the other end. The Psalmist is describing the put-into-a-human-body experience, & how he gets treated while he's in it. It's describing the Crucifixion, if you're sharp enough to discern it!...

But you contradict yourself by your own Law you yoke yourself too. For if you break one you break them all(James 2:10)
