Two setups you can use; First would be longer tapered 10lb leader (15ft), additional 6ft of 8lb tippet down to swivel, then another 3ft 6lb Flurocarbon to fly. Adjust slip indicator to depth. Tough to cast and high chance of major tangles. Easiest setup is to use a full sink (type 6) line with 6ft of straight Fluorocarbon to fly. Just fish the fly straight down and find depth using forceps hooked to fly or anything that allows you to measure water depth. Hope this helps.
Great episode. When you guys are fishing deeper--say 20 down--what kind of leader setup are you using for chironomids?

@@SFOTF Thanks! I'm heading to Medical Lake (near Spokane) this weekend. I'll give this a shot.
winter kills a lot of years but airration is going in I was told
It would be great if they installed an aerator, as this lake can grow big fish if they survive.
Does anyone know what the fish finder mount Brian is using? Would like to get one so I can switch between my boat and my float tube.
I think it’s the Humminbird Mount for the older style ‘Fishing Buddies’?
