I will be fly fishing the Chama River in the snow this friday I hope they are biting. Nice big fish in British Columbia, I hope my dad takes me there one day to fish. The trout aren't that big here in New Mexico.
Frankly, I'm deeply puzzled as to why you repeatedly called the weather conditions bad, coz, correct me if I'm wrong, but many carnivorous fish actually like this sort of change and activity rises. And the wind doesn't seem that bad, so, from the fishing perspective, there aren't any significant problems... All in all, this looks almost perfect and much better than a sunny day, imho. Obviously, it's not really clear what the water temperature is, which is, imho, the most important factor to consider. But it doesn't seem to be very low. Anyways, interesting watch (and Happy New Year! :))
Thanks for your feedback and understand what your highlighting. Perhaps we did not do a good enough job of detailing that serious temperature inversions that had occurred which had really impacted the fishing. The water was actually warmer than the air and the trout had gone into a funk. Good observation and feedback, thanks!
As the poster mentioned dropping temperature inversion creates havoc on the barometric pressure which puts pressure on the swim bladder making them uncomfortable and less inclined to be aggressively feeding, when it happens on Bridge lake in the Cariboo where I have property it turns the fishing way down and you really have to work for them
you seldom get your fish on the reel?..you all step on your lines and have problems with your lines all over the floor , ground, boat etc..learn from your mistakes?.. lost fish and broken lines etc ?..with all your years and knowledge as purists fly fishermen, whatever..you should know better ???...the more I watch you guys the more I get discouraged about the wonders and beauty of so called fly fishing.
Not the safest video I have ever seen. Three guys fly fishing in what is essentially a two man boat. All three guys wearing waders and no one wearing a PFD. Neat.

@@tysonseafoot7834 bad conditions on a moving boat by such a big name in our wonderfull sport..is surely an insult to those that have drowned with no lifejackets..im just stating the obvious..nothing wrong with the value of life my friend..no malice intended at all here as i am a big fan of both the show and brian chan.

How heavy of anchor do you need in those conditions ,and are both anchors same weight?
