I have an original 67 Speed King, and completely cleaned and rebuilt it using no new parts. Used teflon grease throughout. A bit of grease on pivots and joints from time to time goes a very long way to eliminate any noise (I've never heard any unwanted noise from my pedal in 55 years of playing in rock bands). I would not trade my Speed King for any $500 pedal .
I tried one out and was NOT impressed with it. I sent it back immediately. Not a "fast" pedal by any stretch. My DW3000 blows it away in every category.
nice playing,nice review.

Pretty sure I heard a little squeak there right out of the box. That's how you know it's the real thing!
Thank you for review Uwe! Cool pedal!
Ludwig did a excellent jop on the new speed king.it like opening a Christmas gift 🎁
Looks nice.I have my old speed king and I just oiled it and cleaned it up don’t know if it’s a 60’s or 70’s
Brilliant !!! You are my HERO. 😎
Where is my Oscar?
I broke the shit out of these things. It always happened right before my solo.

My old Speed King runs better/faster then the new one!

You can’t compare a speed king pedal with a DW Pedal. You have to be used to a old speed king pedal to appreciate the new one.
I think you really are missing the history behind thus amazing pedal. It's is a King for sure.
There's a reason it was the pedal of choice by Bonzo himself
