I recently blew the driveshaft and ripped tranny in half so I'm not putting a bran new super t10 in it. not expecting great times because I don't want to break the new trans and car. I'm sure the top end will be better. the car has run 11.50's no stress. the car has always been so consisted for a foot brake racer. I run my dial in somehow all the time haha.

The L-79 327 350 HP cam in that engine give gives it a great sound....and it was available in several different Chevy models...............I wish I had bought a 68 Chevelle with the L-79 instead of the 68 Z_28 I bought in 1968.......

the end of quartemile is past the lights at this track. i let off at the mph line.. motor is de-tuned.. zero timing in the low rpms, runs on 91 octane ... haha really bad disributor.. motor is completely stock. the only mods are srp 11.1 pistons, and rollor cam. crank is stock, stock small journal rods, iron heads, performer rpm intake, holley 650, pretty much a stock 327 from the 60's with a rollor cam :P.. the cam is designed to run with a blower so the lob sep and all of the details are not the best...?.... :P
yes. the motor runs 0 timing in the low revs. starts to advance late. runs 38+ degrees after 5500rpm i could get it to run 11.30 ish. If i put in my other cam it will run 10s. the camshaft i the motor is ment to be running with a blower. its bleeding the compreesion so i can run pump fuel and have it user friendly. its not not a huge cam. 255,262 duartion. .555 lift after the valve adjustment. solid rollor.
im actually putting a 4 speed t10 in the car now. it wont be as fast because il be shifting it like a daily driver. i will be tuning it abit better and there wont be anymore hp loss with the automatic. my plan is to run 12.00 @120. street car. street tires. im abit scared of the 4 speed trans braking, its a bran new richmond t10 un modified.

Im using clevitte 77 bearings.,h series . stock relacement clevite 77 tri metal bearings are fine. go with what works. dont try shit u have no faith in.
manley connecting rods.or crower rods are good. for the rings u can use what ever assuming the cylinder bores are not tappered. im using JE low tension piston rings.
whats the diff ratio.. ive had similar set up i my car., ran 13.4 (4.56 gears, 3000 stall camel bump heads performer rpm intake with 228/230 duration, 0.410 lift). if you are running around a 3.42 gear or less expect a half second slower. you should do 14.0. 13.4 is possible but youl need the gear and a very good tune up (distributor timing)

12 cc dome pistons. 64 cc head. 11:1 static compression. Runs on 91 octane. Thick head gasket. It's a turbo cam. Compression on gage is 150 psi. Never goes above even when at high rpm. It's a mitch match setup that ended up being spot on by fluke.. It's wierd..
this nova in the video use to run 1.90 60 foot times with 255s. it had 4.56 with a 3000 stall same tiype of cam like you. you should be able to touch 1.90's 327's dont have alot of torque of the line.

i removed it. its now got a 4 speed, runs 12.0 at118 sometimes. if the car was set up for dragracing the time would defintietly be alot faster. similar time cars are sitting still on the finishe line compared, im passing them like they have no motor in the traps.

It's a Terrible cam. It's a solid rollor blower/turbo cam from compcams. It's the only cam they have listed for blower. 300/308.. 575 lift. After all the tax, it's a 255/262 @50 with a. 555 lift.. It's a gentle cam, it's for the street. Tons of millage on it no problems. There no tork under 4000 rpm. It's dead.
Francisco Huerta It's a hydraulic cam u wanna run so yes that's the gear. My cam like yours was solid lifter cam so I had probably better high revs., 4.56 worked well. But then again the more gear the fast it will be. If you have tall tires get more gear. But highway causing will sound like nascar. Haha

@wolvieguy don't have to swap anything out just pull the shift lever out of the column it looks hideous! Put a bm megashifter in mine got rid of the column lever. Same original 2spd glide column. 72 nova...he put a 4spd stick in it I believe anyway! Not sure if it went as fast though!

depending on what your plans is with the motor. if it's a regular street engine that will not see a lot of milage then any regular ring. also is it a freshly honed motor? . this engine in the video has JE pro seal low tension rings. the thin rings, not the original thick ones that came on the stock pistons. pistons in this motor hold the small rings.
Francisco Huerta mid 13. Engine tuning is key. Most people with roughly this set up will run 14.0 . You shouldn't have traction issues. If you do lower tire pressure.

ur head is fine for compression, but they wont really flow to make big power. u should get a good aluminum head with a big cam
