Met Mr Reid in Spanish cafe back in the 90's on a family holiday. Mum had the brass to ask Mike for an autograph and he was more than happy to oblige. What a kind and genuine person, exactly as he was on the TV as he was in life.
Absolute class act, making sure that he still made time for and signed autographs for the fans, despite all of the infuriating madness going on around him. Superb!
What a gentleman! Even under stress he makes time for people and signs autographs. He should have been proud of this Gotcha and I'll bet he was. I'm reminded of the wonderful talent we've lost recently. David Bowie, Wogan and Ronnie Corbett. Brucie will be the last of the few.
The late great Mr Rockin’ Rick Parfitt was another just like Mr Mike Reid with the same wonderful attitude & respect for people especially the general public & fans. Some never got waaay tooo big for their boots.
His natural genius is just top line, his conversation humour is off the scale. What a gent, and as sharp as a operating knife. Makes me laughter so much.
What a great guy Mike was, even when everything is going wrong around him, he still manages to sign autographs for fans, even though they are in on it. most celebrities become obnoxious over the slightest thing going wrong
came onto youtube tonight and as usual ended up somewhere id never taught id be,Mike Reid u were a legend in ur day and in eastenders u were only starting to shine, god bless and thank u for the laughts and most of all the memories RIP.
Saw him at Manchester back in the 70's brilliant live comedian. Some Americans kept shouting out at him and he turned to them and asked if they where they were from. They said Texas. Straight back he said yeah everything's big in Texas. The yanks cheered and applauded not understaning the irony of that comment.
Whenever I think of the great Mike Reid, I wonder what sort of host he'd have been on the Generation Game? He would have smashed it with his banter, vocabulary and most of all with his genuine respect for the public.
Not a fan of ant and dec either ... Terrible celebs ...and very unhappy they are getting rich with their Celeb Jungle .... ...which has now moved to wales ( my home ). ...theyve been releasing bugs and creatures , not to say just killing them.. ...and ruining the biohabits of welsh creatures.... ( mixing foreign creatures with local ...which destroys biodiversity). I'm not happy about that at all.... And all and and dec care about us money / power / and playing happy families..... .... They make me boil....time they went.
The very best part of the is right at the end, in the last 30 seconds, when Noel doesn't know if Mike is coming towards him with angry and threatening behaviour or friendly and seeing the funny side side... and his body reacts by stepping back to get... a primal fight or flight moment. Of course Mike is seeing the funny side and behaves with a genuine, well-mannered and gentlemanly response. Top marks Mike, your dear old mum would have been very proud of you!
@@coecludd my apologies it doesn't put it up for me in direct responses and I couldn't see it at the time, so I guessed from how it sounded in my head.... gotcha! though lol ❤😁😉
Such a nice man. Quick one back many years ago was in Marbella with my Mum Dad Sis and Mums sister. She spotted Mike having dinner and went over to speak to him and had a bit of banter. Wish i would have got his autograph then.
i went to see him at the Circus Tavern many years ago, with my then boss who had gotten free tickets. His act was very blue, but funny. Afterwards he went round chatting to the people there. A genuinely nice guy , what you saw you got.
Absolutely Fantastic - thanks for uploading "I wanna get out of here because I've got another job in August!" "I'm in a rush but hang on a minute I'm paying for it!!" ROFL absolutely brilliant RIP Mike your never forgotten!
Mike was a lovely guy , great in every way, always got time for the fans and people and actually telling them to fuck off so he could sign autographs lol that’s mike for u RIP ❤️🇬🇧
Mike Reid showing great patience with the trouble he's having. Novel's Gotchas were brilliant. His 'House Party' was the highlight of Saturday nights. What have got now? Michael Mackintyres 'Wheel'. How far have the schedules fallen?
I agree m8 ... Saturday night TV is dead now.....I cannot stand that Michael MacIntyre shouty non funny so called comedian....... back in the 70s when I was a wee boy staying in Glasgow I used to love watching a programme called the comedians was absolutely top notch and I always looked forward to seeing Mike Reid....he also done a great kids TV show called runaround.....and believe it or not it was Mike Reid that originally sung the song (there once was a ugly duckling).... take care
He was fantastic in Eastenders. 'Do you think I'm some kind of ice cream?! I laughed all the time when he was in it. Probably the last time Eastenders contained some humour. I haven't watched it for years. He was a a great guy in real life having watched this, too.
Met Mr Reid in Spanish cafe back in the 90's on a family holiday.

He was a far right racist.
He was a talentless unfunny far right racist.
Absolute class act, making sure that he still made time for and signed autographs for the fans, despite all of the infuriating madness going on around him. Superb!
He's such a sport isn't he! Never a dull moment his friends and family must bloody miss him. Great character, larger than life, a real super guy.
The BNP certainly misses his money.
James. How long has your wife had a boyfriend?
@@JamesRichards-mj9kw He should have banked with an english bank.
And in the middle of an entire team of writers/production crew, the man still has the grace to treat fans with kindness. Jeezo I miss you sir
Run around!!! My childhood ❤️ rip Mike Reid
Another star we will never see the lick of again thanks for the laughs mike .
What a gentleman! Even under stress he makes time for people and signs autographs. He should have been proud of this Gotcha and I'll bet he was. I'm reminded of the wonderful talent we've lost recently. David Bowie, Wogan and Ronnie Corbett. Brucie will be the last of the few.
wonderful talent, wogan? you sure? the rest I agree 100% with
Totally right. Don't forget Jeremy Beadle and his funny 80s classics and Jim Bowen, these people made my growing up Great!

An absolute legend. What a man.
Old school gentleman to everyone. Legend. RIP Mike.
Loved him on Eastenders ❤Hasn’t been the same since he left. Stopped watching not long after.
What a great guy , so easy going and a true gentleman.
Watching this proves how much Mike Reid is missed, brilliant man.
What a gentleman , his stand up was great as well , a true legend
His natural genius is just top line, his conversation humour is off the scale. What a gent, and as sharp as a operating knife. Makes me laughter so much.
That was just about perfect. Well done to Mike, held his class throughout.
Top bloke!! Telling the studio people to bugger off so he can sign autographs "I'm paying for it!!" Nice one
'he's getting right up my bugle'. genius.
Yeah. A genuine bloke. RIP
What a smashing guy.
Saw Mike Reid live. His jokes were old as days, but his comedic timing was excellent and a great performer.
Comedy gold. Just brilliant. Bring back Noels house party
Mike Reid had standards. A gent and true pro. RIP.
He supported the BNP.
What a great guy Mike was, even when everything is going wrong around him, he still manages to sign autographs for fans, even though they are in on it.
most celebrities become obnoxious over the slightest thing going wrong
I like your icon I spent 10 seconds trying to get the hair off my screen lol
That was the best thing on Saturday night Noel's House Party ever since that's gone Saturdays have gone down hill.
Ant and Dec have copied almost all of noel' s house party from the 90s.🙄
came onto youtube tonight and as usual ended up somewhere id never taught id be,Mike Reid u were a legend in ur day and in eastenders u were only starting to shine, god bless and thank u for the laughts and most of all the memories RIP.

Love this man an absolute comedy genius an absolute gentleman
Comedy genius is a little over the top, but what a nice guy and gentleman though.
Love Mike Reid. He was a proper London Geezer. Loved his comedy, especially his laugh.
What a top bloke. Saw him down circus tavern one night, he was fantastic. RIP

Mike Reid....diamond geezer !
He was given a right run around.
G g g g GOOOOOOO!!!
Underated, that
Quality comment.
What a great guy still signing stuff while being wound up
He is so nice about the whole thing, but you can see he is getting annoyed with the guy in the studio. Brilliant 😂😂😂
"I am in a rush, but hang on a minute, I'm paying for it!". What a great person - he was in his right to blow his top, but didn't!
That moment, when they realise, is priceless.
One of the nicest funniest guys to ever grace this planet ... Thanks Mike you were a star amongst us men
Whenever I think of the great Mike Reid, I wonder what sort of host he'd have been on the Generation Game? He would have smashed it with his banter, vocabulary and most of all with his genuine respect for the public.
"Shall I spell it? Just make it to GOTCHA!" Mikes face when he realizes what he'd written is priceless!
Love Mike Reid what a Star turn he was. RIP your a big miss
What a trooper... he was a wonderful man and this just proves it. Thank you for this upload. Mike was a great actor that’s for sure 😊
What a gent. Instead of wanting to knock Edmonds block off, he laughed and shook his hand. Great sport, sadly missed
Mike Reid was so London he pissed jellied eels.
One of the best Gotchas. Mike Read, what a guy!
I think it's illegal not to like Mike Reid, what a guy !
A racist.
Mark Harrison Pipe down you pussy.

Best thing on Saturday night tv as well. Wish it could come back. I rarely watch Saturday night tv now.
Still one of the best professionals on the circuit and still must missed
I watched Snatch again recently and forgot how good he was in that though I wish he'd had a way bigger part!
The good old innocent days of TV,4 channels programmes running until midnight or earlier.mad looking back
An absolute diamond geezer.
Top guy was mike reid . He was a really good comedian
What a lovely bloke. Take heed wokers...
He's a proper legend, fair play to him
Were you going to get caught by Noel Edmond’s or Michael Aspinall, the 90s was a wild time for celebrities
Absolute gent made time to sign autographs even through he must have been getting really stressed. Genuinely funny too a great loss
What a good bloke such a good sense of humour
Brilliant .. what a gent . When times were a lot funnier!
Such a lovely man. I miss his voice.
Noel normal Edmonds. Crinkleys finest back in the day. Mr Reid. Diamond geezer.
lol 5:53
"We don't normally use this studio!"
"I don't blame ya!"
notice even in the middle of this farce he still makes time to sign an autograph (twice)
+chrish12345 HE's paying good money to sign them too. Good guy.
The Gotchas were much better than Ant and Dec's get me out or ear pranks.
Watching paint dry on a cold, grey January morning in Gateshead is more entertaining that Ant and bloody Dec....btw, I’m not a fan of them!
Ant & Dec are not a patch on Noel's Gotchas.

I think Rolf Harris beats Mike Reid hands down.......no pun intended
approaches a poor little kid 'now then darlin'. what do you think the answer is? ' 'er blue'. 'WELL JUMP ON THE SQUARE THEN!!!'
RIP Mike Reid. The man who played Frank Butcher and Doug the Head and inspired Simon Day's character Dave Angel: Eco Warrior.
