You forgot to add the single wankel engines from Northon, Suzuki and the radial engine on the pretty much first motorcycle,the duke engine, the oval piston engine from Honda, the turboshaft jet engine, the homemade steam engine with a V twin piston layout and the Neander counter rotating crankshaft single cylinder engine XD. I suggest to name the video "All common known piston engine bike sounds" ;D.
i do think that 2 strokes sounds generally the same even though they have different number of cylinders, maybe its because of 2 strokes exhaust uses separate expansion chambers instead of an extractor in 4 strokes.
CyberEditing the sound is off the charts. Only moto engine (other than a 6) I rate better sounding than a Ducati with straight pipes. I would gladly buy a downed vmax just to put the motor in a mini dragster
Though this was an older video, but honestly, when the entire point of it is just the sound of the engines, it makes sense to let them do the "talking". The inline 6 ones are definitely my favorite, damn mini Skylines

Kalvinjj a mini leroy from a Vmax and 2 tiny turbskis. And a lada niva with a vmax. (I don't normally go for 4's when I dream about scale cars. But the vmax sound vs power figures vs availability comes up trumps. Although a V5 any of the performance 6's or any Ducati 4 would be ideal) Don't forget about the rotary though. Fits on a bike, but breaks the chain
Maybe it's because I grew up hearing those high revving inline 4's screaming down the street but for me it's the only motorcycle engine sound I truly love. It's a shame they're dissapearing nowadays.

I remember driving to work one day and hearing the most heavenly sound ever. I was a bike with an H6 which I had never seen at the time. Now I know. I still love any of the 4 cylinders that sound like V8s the best.
Visio, you forgot the Yamaha Crossplane inline 3 cylinder from the Mt/fz-09 and XSR900. I own an MT-09 and trust me, the sound it makes is ORGASMIC, to say the least :) .

I think if Horex made a cheaper version of their vr6 engine bike, they'd sell a lot of those.. they could get into the whole sport naked/Street fighter category that's been catching on for the past few years..

Like you said the 3 cylinder combines the best of both from the V Twin and the 4 cylinder but it also combines that with some of the sound from a 6 cylinder.

It's a pretty nice bike. Comfy, sounds great, took my wife on our first date. Does burnouts effortlessly too and gives my buddy's stage 2 Harley a closer race than he thought even with 100 lbs on me.

The other way around turning crankshaft, as far as I know, is only to fight with the giroscopic effect. If he design is the same, I guess it is the same, only made to turn the other way around
270 Inline Twin and 45 V Twin and 90 V Twin sounded the best to my ears, especially that Yamaha Tracer! Flat plane Inline 4 will remain my least favorite. I also loved the Even Inline 3, VR6 and Boxer 6, though I'm much more used to these sounds coming out of cars and not out of bikes

I kind of miss Aprilia's 60 degree V twin engine from the RSV Mille / 1000R. It had a patented crank design in order to balance out the 60 degree piston angle and firing order, a very unique setup. It's always Ducati who get most of the v twin fame (not that I don't like them ^^ )
I think the 120 deg. Inline 3 cyl. is the perfect motorcycle engine. My Triumph 955 sounds soooo, Good. And a nice flat torque curve. Perfect street motor.
This is the only channel, anywhere, that focuses on the most important aspect of motorized vehicles.......the absolute symphony of sound an engine can make. There is no bigger consideration. I would buy a car just for the sound it makes. Take an old Alfa 75 for example. Boxy, hideous, with the undisputed best sounding v6 in history. I'd drive the shit outta that.
The Laverda 3 was a flat crank (all crankpins at 180 degrees) because it was must easier and cheaper to forge the crank that way. To make a 120 degree crank you need to heat and twist a flat forging.
KTM only used the screamer engine at the beginning of the first season. They switched too bigbang after that. No more screamer engines in MotoGP. To bad because the sound they make is really awesome. Honda used screamer engines for a long time.
And you missed out the offset crank V-twin. Starting with the VT500 Honda made 52 degree twins with a 76 degree crank offset in sizes from 400 to 750cc. They definitely sound different to other V twins.

it's not crossplane. its the usual crank arrangement for a 3 cylinder

The KTMs still sound wild. They have the most unique sound out of all the bike there going down the front straight in Austin last year.
