I'm the Disaster Response Officer for my local Church. I first became aware of your channel from the video your wife posted about her experience in the Nepal Earthquake. Been watching your channel since. I absolutely LOVE what you two are doing!
I'd been busy & meaning to come back specifically to see this Ice Machine perform. I am satisfied that it also looked appetizing. Next I will have to someday check out it's price. But I liked it's free standing independence. That is what got my attention in the first place.
That is a awesome little ice maker! Love the videos as always. Have a great day.
Looks like a good product. I like when Jeremy gets a new product. I'm looking forward to hearing about your plans for your truck vending in the future.
Nice demo. I always get a kick out of watching Jeremy open boxes...like a kid at Christmas...can't wait to see the new gadget. 😁
We have a different model that is similar. For family gatherings and other events, it has been awesome. I shopped for two months and did find a open box deal, but the coupon makes this a great deal. Thanks for sharing.
Fresh fruits with that ice in a blender makes fabulous icecream. Looking forward to your plans.
Perfect. Thank for measuring power draw!
Thank you for this! Looking into buying one of these. Haven’t decided on the brand......but looking for clear ice for cocktails.
We love our counter top ice maker! When our frig ice maker quit, we spent the dollars on our portable...and we can take it camping with us if we have shore power.
My Daughter bought me one of these. I LOVE IT.. We have well water. ( in our area the water is hard water but tastes great)
So we use bottled spring water so the lines & machine don't get clogged..
That ice maker is really amazing! I am looking forward to hearing more about your new venture.
Cool little machine.
Wow, with a gadget like that, we'll be the envy of the neighborhood after the SHTF. Thanks for sharing.
I have one of those, not by that vendor, and it is one of the best kitchen appliances ever!! Always fresh good ice.
Hey Jeremy and Jamie 😃
Another great video thanks for the information on the icemaker specially for the summer.... that be fun on your food truck. Let us know how it work out . Thanks
Blessing
👩🌾
looks good, that's one of my hurricane preps I need to get.
That was awesome!
Good video. Great presentation brotha
Looking forward to seeing your truck set up w ice maker :)
pretty cool setup
Great review I want one!!
Wow that makes some nice ice! I live here in the Phoenix metro area and we use a TON of ice in the summer, and year round - I keep EIGHT ice cube trays in the freezer at all times to keep up with the demand!
ubetchya78 check out Aldi's food chain, I got one there for less than 50 dollars and it is great!
Very nice discovery =) Thanks for sharing and a great coupon code to help in the purchase =)
How funny, I was researching these on Amazon the other day
I have a very similar portable ice maker. I find to speed it up, I toss the first batch or two of ice into the reservoir for the water. Once the water is nice and chilled it fires off ice quickly. Sacrificing the first batch or so seems to speed it up rather quickly.
i do the same thing.
Very cool. Cold. 😀❄️
Ok thanks for he reply. I love your videos and what you two are doing.
Cool science fact. Clear ice can be made 2 ways. One is to flash freeze calm water to keep the air bubbles down or you can vibrate the water aggressively as you freeze the water.
Cool, icy cool!!
Great review. Greetings from Andreas on Off Grid Sweden
I have an Ice maker in my Solar Camper.. I use it for Cocktail Ice...dont need to rough it when it comes to that...Harvist mode it needs to heat up to release the Ice..
Cool ice maker, we have been doing farmers markets for a while, mostly vegetables, but also do leather goods, and some items made from gourds, the bird house gourd and Luffa gourd sell really good. As with everything depends on the area.

O I C! (oh icy). I may get one of these gadgets. Thanks!
Looks like a good way to top up on the go, but not to establish a base line. As well, I'd be the temperature of the ice is higher than what comes out of the freezer. I'd also be uncertain about the volume it would be able to produce vs what you really need. But if it works for you...
Just a quick food handling tip: do not store the scope with the clean ice.
If you will be selling food, you should take a food handling course, which you can probably find online. The FDA has requirements, and here in FL, the state’s Dept of Ag has them, too.
Do check your state laws. For example, here in FL one cannot butcher on the farm...has to go to a certified butcher. (Yet hunters can butcher their kills wherever they want, leaving the remains piled on the side of the road, thrown in a ditch, or wherever...)
Also, the federal rules allow sale of “nest run” eggs...the unwashed eggs collected directly from the nest...so long as there is no visible dirt or poop on the eggs, yet FL requires all eggs sold be chemically washed and chemically coated, and further requires that this washing take place in a triple commercial sink with a commercial grade sewage system. The law just makes the blanket statement that no residence has such commercial grade facilities, no residence will ever be considered for the license required to sell eggs. The state also cut off the work around that people were using of labeling some foods as “pet use” by upping the requirements for pet foods, too.
This is what happens when government serves the interests of big corporations over the small businesses and start ups: the lobbying groups woo the politicians into passing laws that prevent competition from folks like us.
I am getting the heck out of this state, yet these laws are being snuck into the books across the nation...and no it is not just one side or the other...FL turned R after Gov Chiles’s long run, and Jeb elevated in his crooked family connections (look up Texas banks and King Ranch connections to FL sugar industry to start digging that ugly little rabbit hole).
Now Gov Skeltor and his crew of frauds have had their turn, too, but the D politicians are also now just as much corporate puppets, thanks to the influence of the Clinton Cabal.
Lol! Sorry for the rant...I get a bit pissy seeing ordinary people purposely cut off from potential income opportunities.
So, anyway, just cover your tail from the get go and make sure you can’t get shut down for a little mistake...
This beats the hell out of my SNO Whynter IM-15 icemaker. That ice comes out cloudy, like refrigerator ice. I bought it because it said it'd make ice that can fit thru the neck of a pop bottle, but it did a lot better with the large size, so never mind. :/ Your icemaker is prettier & makes glacier ice!! Which is what everyone wants! A professional icemaker in my former law office made glacier ice, which doesn't melt nearly as fast as cloudy ice, since it's not full of air pockets. That device is NICE!! lucky you
Cool gadget!
Very timely video for us. We've been thinking about getting one for our property in the mountains. Checked out the link for this one and it's out of stock. (:-( I'll check again in a few days. Thanks for the demo, guys! ~peace
Impressive!!
Great video 👍👍
I think bacteria can grow in portable ice makers that aren't constantly kept at a frozen temperature. If you plan on turning this thing on and off, I would suggest a good wipe down with a chlorine bleach and water solution each time it is turned off and that it be drained thoroughly between uses. Also, if you must stick your hand in there, I'd advise latex gloves. I also noticed the cubes were stuck together which shouldn't happen. An ambient temperature problem, perhaps?
I'd use a vinegar and water solution. Not bleach. (And maybe some tea tree essential oil as well).
+Southeastern777 No kidding? Good on them, that is usually the last thing (and I mean the very last thing) anyone ever cleans in a restaurant.
Pamela Martin Vinegar is a safer alternative and may even kill e coli, but it will not kill staphylococcus. Hydrogen peroxide kills staph.
All of these choices will leave a residue, however, which should be removed by making a test batch of ice and tossing it away. Similar to the procedure of using vinegar to descale a coffepot or kettle..
Nice appliance for the homestead. Running water freezes clear. Some big commercial ice machines use that style of evaporator. Will 40 pounds be enough for a food truck? Let me know when the chops are ready! Good luck!
Ty
i have a few kunekune too, cheap as here, in new zealand, one of them is named, Chris. P. Bacon
Happy Hr. Yeah !
I like it!
Pretty cool. A must for cocktail hour!
We also own an ice maker, ours is from Igloo. We hv the choice of Small, Medium, and Large sized ice. Makes fast n lots.

YOU ARE LIKE MY BRO, HE LIVES IN BAJA, CA AREA . I HAVE SAME EXACT MODEL AN I USE ALL DAY.. I FOUND THAT DAMP TOWEL(S) ON OUTSIDE ON ANY OF ICE AREA(S).. MADE IT WORK WAY BETTER.. the part where buttons are waterproof cover ,. I USE BASIC FILTER TAP WATER ( that plastic water top tube w small holes got slimy..). ALSO THE BACK GETS EXTRA AIR FROM FANS .. I POUR WATER IN FRONT TO BASKET BOTTOM OR LITTLE MORE. (THE TOP RESERV WARMS UP AN I LEAVE IT OPEN WITH SOME WATER STANDING (PLUGGED..). WE HAD BIG FREEZER LIKE THAT IN OUR VERY COLD GARAGE AN MY MOM WOULD COVER TOP LID INSULATE IT MORE..
That's awesome! While I love the skulls... simple drink ice is cool, easier to produce 😎 don't forget to sanitize the system often 😊 Cheers!
cool video guys....
I imagine having a fridge outside also keeps the house cooler. I never really thought about how much heat they radiate till right now.
I would look under that refrigerator if the condenser is under it and check if it is stopped up.
What kind of mobile kitchen are you thinking about? I've always wanted a mobile wood fired pizza oven... But I don't care any thing about working festivals & markets on weekends after working a full time job during the week.
I have the same machine and the power button blinks and makes a clicking sound any idea what that is?
🌻🌻have a beautiful day🌻🌻
Nice ice maker...
This ice maker better than others it’s show clear
please could you make more food related videos? recipes & storage etc
good video review
Cool!
Hi how long is the normal cycle take? Is it still 22 mins? Thanks
Boil your water and freeze it to make clear ice. More times you boil and cook the clearer it will be
Cool gadget, but I don't remember the last time I used ice!👍
How long will the ice stay frozen?
Wave check?
Don't you just love it ~ a box, in a box, in another box 😆😁 i don't like the holes in my cubes , I like the solid square cubes
Me too
the advantage of having the holes in the ice is
more surface area to pull the heat out of the drink
and make it cooler quicker.
@@kimtaylor8104 and melt faster making your drink water down
Wow!
Cool
I guess the discount code was limited time, It now says invalid code on any of the ice makers that are in stock, most of the models on their website are out of stock.
Great product review . wonder if it tells you what temp it keeps the ice at.? most freezers are set to -5 if I remember correctly, ...but could range anywhere from -3 to -7 or whatever you set your freezer temperature to, ...because some people like there ice cream harder or softer...LoL ...is there a temp control gauge on this model.? ... reason being is I find "colder" ice . as in "harder" ice cream . will last longer before it melts...
P.S. you should get a kickback if your selling there product for them . or a lump sum.. I think people that know you "even if only from you-tube" trust and value your opinion...
It doesn't store ice, just makes it - have to move to a freezer or cooler
Oh.. I see.. thank you very much .. it kind of looked like soft ice, but for the speed it makes it you can't complain and still an interesting gadget nonetheless...
not for refrigerant to settle, it's for the oil in the system to settle...
nice to get free stuff lol and will be a credit to the company with this review. i will personally go for a cheaper model but thanks for the post.
Based on the overall history of the channel, i don't think these folks have ever been anything but straight with their viewers. Having said that, this is only one part of the research any consumer should be doing when it comes to their purchases. There are plenty of resources available to help people buy products based on their needs, budget, quality, and reliability.
Out of stock already?
Jeremy. As a follow-up to this video and sorry if I missed it. How much ice were you able to make in a day? I know the unit says 40 pounds in a "day" which to me is 24 hours, but wanted to see what you were really able to get out of this thing in a realistic workday. Thanks for all you do. Mike U. from Indiana.
I can’t say. We only ran it long enough to fill the tub. First tray dumped after about 22 minutes. Each tray after took about 9 minutes. So the tub fills about every 90 minutes then you add more water to the reservoir.
Thank you for the quick reply. When you guys actually use this for your business, please do make another short follow-up video to showcase your results. I am curious to see what you can get out this in a day to see how long it really takes to make a viable amount for what you want to use it for. I am using these ice bags: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00INV51ZM/ref=detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with the unit you did the demo on. There are probably cheaper ones out there but my immediate application is to make enough bags of ice for a birthday party this weekend. Take care.
I USE DAMP TOWEL(S) ON TOP LID... & works way better.. I also have many fans on in patio.. too COVERED BUTTON AREA IN WATERPROOF WAY mine wasn't insulated An it's warm .. at nite too so the back gets extra air fro other fans too nearby
already sold out but it is not "Energy Star Rated: No" hum wonder why??
Are you guys still doing the Amazon smile thing?
Yes we are an affiliate.
Where you two been. OT many vlogs lately ?!
Soon. Lots going on but we’ll be back. 😉
How long does it take to make the 40 pound of ice?
24 hours of non stop running. it cuts off after the bin is full. so you would have to baby sit the thing to get the 40 pounds in 24 hours.
How is the ice maker doing now, 2 years later?
Mine makes a ton of noise
Did this device last? Seems a lot of the bad reviews are about it breaking down very quickly.
Ours still works just fine
How's the Ice maker doing? In the market for one and would like to hear your opinion after using it for a while. Thanks!
Still works fine but we don’t really use it much.
@@Guildbrookfarm Thank You!
I've had one for 2 years
Would you still recommend this icemaker?
Yeah it works well.
3rd time I didn't get notified that y'all uploaded...not cool you tube...not cool! That lil machine is fab tho lol I like my water at room temp, weird?
Not weird. Jaime does too. 😉
Think I'm gonna order this for the hubs office. Do y'all benefit if we do? I could buy a thousand skull trays instead tho✌😉
We don’t receive anything if someone buys it.
oh ok...never mind then 😂
Is that ice maker made to accept a permanent water line ?
no
How is the ice machine holding up? We've burned through 2 Igloo machines in 3 years. Need a better machine.
Honestly it works fine but we don’t use it much yet.
we had a Dandy Ice n' Easy that just went out after 10+ years of use. It was a 33 lb/day that worked great. we used it a lot. Sadly they don't make it any more. I am sure due to it lasting too long. That is the nature of the beast with things today. I am looking at reviews of these to replace it, and it seems like most of the new ones don't last.
reasonably priced @ 249.95
Maybe at that price it'll last more than a year that our's do
But how does the ice do over some Jack Daniels?
Quite nice
The biggest glaring problem to me is the fact you have a flimsy plastic tub and a flimsy plastic scoop. That in it's self isn't too bad.
The issue is the ice doesn't come out in cubes, it's cubes frozen to a sheet of ice. If you attempt to use the scoop to break the ice like you did in the video, not only does it not work, but your likely to break one of them and end up with plastic shards on your ice and end up tossing it all out.
Tldr: plastic pieces break easier than ice so the scoop and basket are useless
Could you be any more dramatic about ice?
Haven't had a problem with mine. Over two years of use. Basket in good shape. If you don't like the scoop (I don't), use tongs. My wife and her brother just reach in with their grubby hands.
Sounds good but
looks like the Frigidaire machine
I'm sure the pigs are happy they are going to be harvested rather than slaughtered...
That is woefully undersized for a food truck. Not being commercial grade isn't going to help much either.
SALE SNOW CONE $$$$$$
Not
ice will be only as clear a quality of water used...
No. The cloudiness is AIR, not particles.
Dorothee P. That's true. I triple filtered pristine spring water before using it in a portable ice maker. It's the air.
to get crystal clear ice boil it first. let it cool then filter.
BS
no, you just have to let the water freeze as slow as possible.
Air doesn't escape fast enough when fast freezing. Time is your friend with clear ice.
too much work. lol
To me clear ice is just not as cold or solid as whiter ice. I'm sure a clear cube ice will melt quicker. I ordered this same machine yesterday but I ll bag and store these cubes in my chest freezer ... which will end up whiter and not so clear lol, I just need ice daily.
Then don't buy a clear ice maker. You 'clearly' don't want or need one. Buy a regular ice maker. Now then, it's that simple.
@@paulcrossgrove5353 lol, I dont care if it's clearer or not. My point is the reason why it may be clearer. As I said I just needed ice and this one one of the best options available at the moment that fit what I was willing to spend. Just sharing my opinion, its that simple.
You may not need to buy an ice machine to achieve clear ice. Just boil some water and then freeze it and it should be clear.
Only a myth...not true
