  • This Clearice40 machine was what I was hoping it would be. I'm in charge of loading everything for our frequent beach trips. I don't want to stop and buy ice, and I don't like to completely empty our home refrigerator's ice bin (which is small by the way). Not only can I fill the cooler with this but it also helps me keep extra on hand in freezer bags that will fill up an ice bucket for guests with one load. Not too big to be in the way and easily stored when you aren't using it. These are the greatest. I was biking and came across a Yard sale. That was my foray exposure so one of these almost instant ice makers. Great for someone like myself that makes Smoothies,Ice Coffee years B4 it was a thing and for cocktails & ice packs for sports injuries.

My wife ordered this, and I set it up today. It makes ice super-fast. In just a few hours I have 2-gallon sized bags of very clear ice. Before going to bed I selected to make the thicker ice. I will see what that looks like in the morning. Very impressive machined. We got this because we are having 25 family members coming to our house this weekend and will be drinking bourbon and other beverages.

Keep a jug of water near the machine and maintain the reservoir level. That thing will pump it out and keep everyone happy. I like making bags up in advance as well. Good luck making through the family get together! LOL

@@evolutionaryTom thanks. I think I'll survive. Good idea about the water jug. I already have several bags in the freezer. It keeps on pumping out very clear ice.

Will the ice stay CLEAR if I make big batches and store them in a plastic bag or a solid container then dump them in my freezer for days or weeks? If not, then sadly I don't think these machines are for me. I don't have enough patience to come turn it on and wait for 6-15 minutes whenever I want to enjoy a drink.

I am interested in one for our travel trailer and camping. We usually have to run to town for ice every other day. How much water does it take to make 40 pounds of ice?

I've used clorox wipes, Brian. then run some ice through it and throw it out. Then just keep running.
