    Would not have known the window shifted and thats why it came off the track, unless i saw this vid.
    Very much appreciated, sir

    Thanks Awzkar, super helpful. My daughter and I made this exact fix and watching saved us from destroying clips and we would never have thought to know to slide the window in the gasket and track. not easy but it worked!

    Thank you, my friend. It was embarrassing driving around with a plastic window!

  • @KD-mj2ms

    In my case (2003 Highlander), the track fell off the bottom of the window entirely, both the gasket and metal frame. They were somewhat oily feeling, so I washed them and also the bottom of the window before tapping them back into place. I greased the track where the green plastic piece fits, attached the regulator, and all is good again. Note that I also sprayed silicone spray into the vertical window tracks so that the regulator doesn't have to pull so hard to get the window to move. Again, SILICONE SPRAY the vertical tracks - an important step!!

    This was the exact problem on my 2005 Highlander on the exact same door! The window was a little tough to slide, but once it moved about an inch the arm stayed on the track! I probably saved a couple hundred dollars by finding this video!! Thanks!

    Thanks! I had to reconnect the rear window on a 2001 Toyota Highlander, and your instructions were perfect, from beginning to end. My trim on the bottom of the window had slid over, exactly like you explained, allowing the lift arm to disconnect from the track. After I got the track connected, I raised the window half way, and put an open end wrench over the trim, and tapped with a hammer until it was back where it belonged.

    Thank you saved me a lot of money simple fix to my window issue, mine was all the way down so i was able to retrieve it and apply a temporary to perm fix without replacing parts as long as i want my window fully up.

    Without question the best video on this topic. The only part that was not clear was how you shifted the bar over. What I ended up doing was using a wooden dowel and a rubber mallet and gently tapping it over it took about 2 minutes and everything was lined up perfectly.

    My 5 year old hung on to the window while saying by to her friend and knocked the track off about an inch. I followed the instructions and got it back in place. It's a little tricky but I was able to push the track forward very slowly with a thick branch. I was afraid to break the window so I juiced the front and back of the track with wd40. Made a mess but made it work. Thank you!

    Fixed mine today. Got the green square back on the track, sprayed the rubber seal and metal channel with WD40 then slid the metal channel a couple of inches toward the drivers seat using leverage from my pry tool to get it back completely over the rubber seal so it's lined up. Thank you.

  • @tcser7
    @tcser7 3 года назад +1

    You don’t even necessarily need to take any of the bolts off. Just slide the window bottom support further away from the up/down arm, push the arm with the small square just a bit forward into the slot and then slide that bottom support slot back into the square. Then just push the support slot until it’s a couple inches past the square.

    Awesome dude! You are a ROCKSTAR! I sent 2 hours trying to figure out what the problem was and when my arms were about to fall off from holding the windoe up and maneuvering the stabilizer gear thing AND trying to hold the door panel up while connected to rest a million times! I took a break and search the web to find your video and Voila! Bingo! That was my problem and imoved the track back into place using a 2 foot piece of narrow boeard to slide the track into alignemnet. BANG! DONE!
    Thanks so much my friend!

  • @celsov4321

    Great video. Just fixed both passenger side windows. The only thing though that might suggest is that you don't need to lubricate the rubber. I decided to carefully use a screw driver through one of the access holes near the top to get leverage and slowly push the track metal. The reason is the lubricant may make it slide too easy and out of position and wd40 on rubber is not good unless you want cracks down the road. Otherwise great video!

    FYI you don’t have to take the regulator off if you start by putting the track on the window first. Just put it on a little further towards the front of where it needs to be. Then using the up button fiddle with alignment until the green square gets started in the track. Holding both ends of the track you can slide it on the regulator square until you are lined up in the right spot. I did this successfully without taking the regulator off.

      I have the same question, I saw another video where the fella used RTV to "glue" the window in place to the track and seal so it can't slide out of position. This makes logical sense to me, it would seem like the WD-40 would make it more prone to happen again, no?

    Cant get the track to line up with the rubber groove, any tips?

    • @xNachoPandaXx
      @xNachoPandaXx  6 лет назад

      Make sure that the rubber groove is lubricated thoroughly and grab a flat head and a hammer ( you can try using some gloves to try to man handle it to move into place) but gotta see how much distance the tracks and the rubber groove have.
      Also if you try the hammer and flathead Be very carful to not hit the window
      Just tap it into place till its nice and flush
      Hope this helps.
      I really wish i had my tripod when i made this vid. Probably will make a vid soon.
