Total numbers don't matter. Per capita matters/ bears don't have a moral compass at all. Regardless, if it actually came down to I'd, no one would truly choose the bear
You're more likely to get killed in a car accident than be killed by a bear. Now hypothetical would you rather drive in your car 5 miles up the street or sit in a room with a bear? You don't get to chose which bear cause that's not how the original question was asked. Just any bear or take a joy ride?

Those statistics you cited are what we call "marginal probabilities" meaning they aggregate over all people doing all activities, the vast majority if which will never even be within 100 miles of a bear. The probability that really matters is the probability of being attacked by a bear GIVEN that you are standing in front of a bear. What also matters is the probability that the one man that's in the woods is a sadistic psychopath (maybe 0.01%) vs. the probability the bear is in a bad mood, or hungry, or threatened (maybe 20-30%).
Also, let's not pretend that getting assaulted by a man, however traumatic it may be, is anywhere near as horrific a fate as being eaten alive by a monster.
I live in the middle of the woods. I have bears on tjese woods ans ja w had a few on my yard. I also have a couple of men who have trespassed, harassed, and kept intimidating me to come on my property eventhough they were told no hunting. I have more amxiety and problems with the men than the bears. That was the point between man vs bear. There are tricks you cam use to get a bear away from you or leave you alone depending on the species. Yet being told no......even having cops called on them they still came around and threatened me all because theu wanted to hunt on my property. This kind of behavior the reasoning women are using for choosing bears

I was also born and raised in Washington DC so I have tje experience of being in a city filled with dangerous humans and the benefit of experiencing living in the woods......with coyotes, bears, cougar etc........and my biggest issue was 2 hunters that would not accept that I told them no. Men I begged to stop contacting me. Not boyfriends. Just random men who wouldn't go away. But I have been able to co exist fine with the bears in these woods. That is the reasoning for choosing the bear.

@wisdomfox857 I never said that and I know my experiences with these men..You don't. I states they semt.me.harassinf messages and kept coming in my property. 5 years of harassment. Reminding me they drive by house. Was.out in my woods with weapons........for 5 years of me point blank asking to stop contacting me. I assume the bear will hurt me if provoked or if it has cubs or is fresh from hibernating and hungry.
@wisdomfox857 So my personal experience with these particular men and on my property is not for you to change the perception of..Bears are dangerous but I didn't need to beg the damn near for 5 years to leave me alone.......I didn't assume the men wanted to hurt me..I interacted with them......I've been threatened..I guess.you didn't read.that part......you cant change my experience. It's not a hypothetical for me. It's real. I got real bears here. And I know how they operate and if you don't you got no business living in the woods.
