Rattlegram just will not be reliable for me most of the time the text message will not come through - all I get is data fail. I'm using PMR446 and Boafeng. 888s But a good idea. BTW have you come across the Surecom simplex repeater. I'm currently playing with that, great for voice but again the DTMF tones that it needs to control the special functions are hit and miss. Maybe the guys that build these kits are using radios that are a bit more expensive than my 888s ones lol😠
@@macnottsuk you could be right about the experience kit. I had a problem with data fail, I solved it by turning up the volume on the radio and the phone. Good luck with the simplex repeater.
I like rattlegram. Unfortunally brazilians hams are not using it. I can see you using FT8 on 2 m band (with a lot of actiivity!) that are almost inexistent in my country. I am studying ways to communicate offgrid in a situation that the grid is down, and Rattlegram, FT8, JS8Call, SSTV for small texts or maps are great! It´s fundamental to be easy to go on offgrid comms, we will not have time to learn quickly when it´s needed. 73 from Jean PU2PQQ.
Great idea sir! Thanks for sharing! Love and respect from the Netherlands!
Thank you
When using it with VOX, it's a good idea to increase the 'Leading Noise', in encoder settings, to give the VOX time to operate, so no data is lost.
Thank you for your comment
