Better SSR, shadows, immensely better water, much more vegetation detail and environmental effects plus LODs of certain things and even some touched textures. All this at 60fps with dynamic 4k bottoming out at 1440p. EDIT: I've noticed even more; it's not just the lighting/contrast, before there was a single grass color for every zone while now there's more yellow grass in certain areas, like on the side of the mountains. The water alone transforms certain shots (like the entire part from min 3) but underwater lighting is also different. There is ABSOLUTELY also a big change in contrast but it's clear it was a deliberate decision to go with the new water and to more closely resemble the original colors; this change's liking is going to be more subjective, of course.
Looks like the difference between having glasses on and not having glasses on lol. May seem minor but it made the game much more immersive and makes the cutscenes much more impressive. Now if we can just get an official PS5 fighterz update with some new characters 🤞🏽

But that's exactly how it would be in the anime, you've already evolved so much that going back to the past wouldn't make you weaker at their level, it doesn't make sense to want to fight them again.
God of War Ragnarok has very little difference in graphics quality between the PS4 and PS5 versions. Both versions are visual masterpieces that push the limits of game graphics. If they could do it with that game, there's no reason why they couldn't do it with other games.

PS5 graphics are great ! I’ve spent significant hours playing Kakarot as well. Overall , I think it is a great game that does complete justice to the DBZ anime show. Going thru the story line and all the arcs of DBZ brings back nostalgia from our childhood and seeing each and every character from the series really brings back memories. Although the game is decent it does have opportunities in o be even better and after playing it I do have some serious recommendations on improvements Flying Mechanics: Realistic Flying with Boost Speeds: Multiple boost speeds ranging from casual (for exploration) to super-fast (faster than supersonic). This would let players feel the power and flexibility of characters like Goku while making flying more interactive and less monotonous. Tricks and Air Maneuvers: Adding aerial tricks like barrel rolls would make flying more engaging and fun, adding depth to the mechanics beyond just traveling from point A to B. Nimbus Upgrade: Applying the same improvements (boost speeds, tricks) to the Flying Nimbus makes it feel less like a static ride and more like an immersive experience. Aesthetics and Customization: Fixing Transformation Auras: Improved animation for transformations and Ki charging would elevate the visual spectacle, making transformations look more powerful and true to the anime. Free Roam Transformations: Letting players transform during free roam adds a sense of freedom and authenticity, making it feel more like living as these characters. Costume Change Flexibility: Allowing players to switch costumes at any time offers a sense of customization, something many players enjoy. Combat & Free Roam Integration: Seamless Combat Initiation: Removing the need for a specific battle start screen and allowing players to engage in combat mid-free roam, locking onto targets naturally (like action RPGs such as Spider-Man or Assassin’s Creed), would make the world feel more dynamic. Using Ki and Super Moves in Free Roam: Allowing players to fire Ki blasts and super moves during free roam (in 3rd person) adds a layer of freedom and fun, letting players test powers outside of structured battles. Traversal and Environment Interaction: Parkour and Running Animations: Adding parkour moves and improved jumping/running animations (with speed boosts) would make even ground movement more interesting and fluid, rather than just being a means of transport. Fishing & Hunting Mini-Games: Making fishing more complex (like in Red Dead Redemption 2) and adding hunting with challenging mechanics could make mini-games feel more rewarding and skill-based. Interacting with Objects in Free Roam: Allowing full interaction with objects would breathe life into the environment, making the world feel less static and more immersive, like in true open-world games. Free Roam World Improvements: Suggesting a bigger, more varied, and fully explorable Earth (with fast travel like Spider-Man 2) would make the world feel enormous and open-ended. Instant Transmission: Using Goku’s Instant Transmission as a fast travel method would add immersion and fit well with the lore. Sub-Stories and Tasks: The suggestion of more varied and less repetitive side quests would help keep the player engaged. Combat Depth: Liberating Areas: Having missions where players liberate areas from enemies (like RR robots) adds purpose to exploration and incentivizes combat beyond just story missions. Improving Random Enemy Spawns: Modifying how enemies spawn to make it less annoying and more dynamic would reduce frustration during exploration. Training Opportunities: Training with different characters in different settings (wilderness, hyperbolic time chamber, Capsule Corp, etc.) would add depth and variety to combat development. Expanded Interaction with DBZ Characters: Doing chores, tasks, and favors for characters like Chi Chi or Bulma adds personality and allows for deeper relationships and immersion. Challenging Tasks and Quests: Increasing the challenge level of certain tasks, like getting ingredients for Bulma, would make the game more rewarding and engaging. Additional Immersive Features: New Arcs and Storylines: Including arcs like Goku in Yardrat and Otherworld Martial Arts would expand the lore and variety of playable content. Rescuing Citizens: A feature where players can rescue civilians and earn rewards (like in Spider-Man) would give free roam a greater sense of heroism. Racing Challenges and Health Meter for Cities: Introducing racing challenges on the Nimbus and adding a health meter for cities under attack would increase stakes and create more objectives during free roam. Combat Enhancements: Slow Motion in Combat: A slow-motion feature during fights could create more cinematic, high-impact moments, especially for finishing moves or big attacks. Finishing Moves and Grabs: Adding finishing moves and the ability to grab and throw enemies during combat would make battles feel more dynamic and true to the anime’s intense action sequences. Bruce Faulconer Score: Having the Bruce Faulconer score (famous in the U.S. Dragon Ball Z dub) would tap into nostalgia and make the game’s soundtrack more exciting for long-time fans. Improved Voice Acting: Increasing voice acting during smaller cutscenes (instead of just subtitles) would elevate the overall presentation and immersion. Better use of adaptive triggers and the PS5 controller to make the experience more immersive Add weapons like Trunks Sword and Goku’s powerpole Add a meditation feature to mediate and allow time to go by which will recover HP and will increase a small amount of XP points. These are just some improvement recommendations that I have sent to Bandai. If DBZ Kakarot is enhanced with all these improvements and features I would definitely buy it again!. Would you ? What do you all think ? Also any other suggestions on gameplay improvements? 😃

Both looks like an unreal 4 or 5 environment with anime character so both are weird to me... talking about remastered when you apply AAx4 instead of AAx2, change 2 colors and add 3 rocks in the background...
All the PS5 difference I see is: -Clearer, Bluer Water -more groups of flowers -a bit more detail to buildings, rocks and mountains -has 60fps -grass looks brighter -and looks brighter in general
the only issue i had with this game was the ugly difference in desing/graphics that the background element had , now they are okay, and with the almost PERFECT Cell Shading they used it's gonna be a great game, gonna replay this for sure
I have realized... that somehow the brightness of the screen on the top (because of the sun) starts to piss me off. I can even feel it more annoying since the new update... i cant be the only one who is annoyed by that ?
in the chi-chi house, you can also notice that in the river unlike in ps4, it has a boulder next to it and you can see the weeds under the water of the river.

It pisses me off that I didn't buy this game in the numerous times it was on sale. Now with the PS5 version being released, they thought they could be sneaky and make it full AAA price like the game just came out. Not to mention that inflation is really bad in my country, so there's no way I'm buying it now. I'll just buy the physical release as that's cheaper. Despite me being a physical game collector, I wanted this one digital as it was incredibly cheap to get the ultimate edition on sale. Plus I'd have both the PS4 and PS5 version to hunt for trophies on.
Me gusta mucho la versión de ps5 porque se ven los paisajes y creo que Dragon Ball siempre en la montaña paoz, la casa de picollo, namek, siempre han tenido bonitos paisajes y ps5 los tiene
how could you guys be agree with that update, of course it's better to have it than not. My problem is that the update is so small especially for a game that look like a remaster of a PS3 game. Ps5 supposed to be a powerfull console capable of 4k and Ray tracing at the sametime in some games. when you look at spiderman miles morales who will probably demand more effort to the console and they still able to add mixte 4k quality graphic mode, so why that game with poorly graphic (let's be honest it's a game with poorly graphic but amazing cinematic) need a separate mode graphic like the console isn't capable to have the two mode at the same time.
What do you think about the overall improvements? First we have PS4 vs PS5 Quality Mode then PS4 vs PS5 Performance Mode.

Both looks like an unreal 4 or 5 environment with anime character so both are weird to me... talking about remastered when you apply AAx4 instead of AAx2, change 2 colors and add 3 rocks in the background...
The PS5 Anti Aliasing does help create the buttery smooth non flickering gameplay tho.
The shimmering was always a distraction to me.
Can’t lie the loading times were torture when I played dis on Xbox one x
Can you do a tutorial video to how download mods in dragon ball z kakarot please
I kinda like the ps4 version more because it looks more cartoony ~ if u know what I mean ^^

The difference is not incredibely big, but it looks decent on the ps5
I am very new to dragon ball z I want to get into the show and the games, what show do I start with?
PS4 DBZ 90s style
PS5 DBS style
You are right and I feel sad about it. I prefer PS4's colors..
The problem is that I bought Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, the silver version, and I didn't get a free Bardock add-on because I didn't buy the gold version 🙃
sorry
I bought the ultimate (gold) edition still didn't get the bardock dlc
No matter what edition you bought you wont get the dlc 4 for free
the creators are low on money or they greedy af
Nobody ask
Bro same and now i should pay $40 what a joke
All the PS5 difference I see is:
-Clearer, Bluer Water
-more groups of flowers
-a bit more detail to buildings, rocks and mountains
-has 60fps
-grass looks brighter
-and looks brighter in general
You forgot the addition of SSR for water surfaces instead of pretty poor cube maps
the only issue i had with this game was the ugly difference in desing/graphics that the background element had , now they are okay, and with the almost PERFECT Cell Shading they used it's gonna be a great game, gonna replay this for sure
In all the years of gaming of console I would never pay more just for improved graphics if it's the same at the end of the day.
uff se nota mucho el cambio, en el ps5 se acerca mas con la realidad y da esa sensación.
When they speak together the PS4 And the PS5 it just looks like
UI sign goku’s voice
People who are saying ps4 looks better don’t have a ps5 lol
Level 254?? 😂 great vid
I like the cartoonish aesthetic of the PS4 version
The reflections! 😭 Is that Ray Tracing?
Ps5 lit and all but I still go back to my good ole ps4 sometimes
Just got this game for switch with all the add one and man I already love it. The attention to details and playstyle is so cool.
I have realized... that somehow the brightness of the screen on the top (because of the sun) starts to piss me off. I can even feel it more annoying since the new update... i cant be the only one who is annoyed by that ?
12:15 , minor detail but gokus eyes are more widened like the anime
in the chi-chi house, you can also notice that in the river unlike in ps4, it has a boulder next to it and you can see the weeds under the water of the river.
It would be so dam dope if you can shoot a beam at the planet and see a big ass boom and battle scares and fix it with the dragons balls that be dope
Practically looks the same. Spirituality looks the same within developed minds.
I like the green colors on the ps4 more. other than that its alot better on the ps5. especially water and distance items
Ps5 has smoother anims considering the fps but tbh if u dont compare the two u won't be as laggy as it seems on ps4. Graphics are also way better on ps5 however i do like the cutscenes better on ps4. W does easily go to ps5 tho
Do the voices still match the mouth for the ps5 english version?
I bet they’re still synced to JP only
So good video
There's a reason why it was a free upgrade
Both look good. Water and fauna/flora is superior on ps5 though.
Wow its really nice graphics..
Dragon Ball Z Genshin Impact 😁😁
6:25 they added reflection on the water surface. Of course, it's not true "ray tracing" but still better compare to PS4 version.
It’s really nice, but mine had major stutter, low frame drop playing in the quality mode.
That's more of a you thing than anything else. Mine doesn't drop.
No shot they remastered this in 3 years and dark souls 2 out here still looking like osrs
Dbz Kakarot is masterpiece game ❤…i wish this game team should make like this same for naruto full story open world game in one game itself & one piece also ❤
Nope
One piece is dog shit
I have a question, does all my progress keep safe if I change of version? Or do I have to restart everything?
If you're on Xbox everything should save to the cloud I don't know about PS4 though
If you use a USB or ps plus cloud to save the progress, yes, you would be able to use your save data.
Yes the game ask you if you want to transfer your save data. It does so in game menu. There is an option. When you boot the ps5 version it will auto pop-up. Cant miss it.
Probably a dumb question, but does PC get this visual update too?
Sadly not
Well that sucks!
It looks a whole lot better now
I like color but I hate the loaf time. My eyes say the ps4 version is looking better.
Just know it’s also on 4K 60FPS, most people run on 1080p but it looks amazing on ps5 either way
Ps5 performance mode is better
What happened do the reflections?
It pisses me off that I didn't buy this game in the numerous times it was on sale. Now with the PS5 version being released, they thought they could be sneaky and make it full AAA price like the game just came out. Not to mention that inflation is really bad in my country, so there's no way I'm buying it now. I'll just buy the physical release as that's cheaper. Despite me being a physical game collector, I wanted this one digital as it was incredibly cheap to get the ultimate edition on sale. Plus I'd have both the PS4 and PS5 version to hunt for trophies on.
even though the ps5 is a big improvement of the ps4, some games still look the same on ps5.
did pc got an upgrade too?
Me gusta mucho la versión de ps5 porque se ven los paisajes y creo que Dragon Ball siempre en la montaña paoz, la casa de picollo, namek, siempre han tenido bonitos paisajes y ps5 los tiene
is this only on ps5 or are these updates also on pc?
Yeah! What this guy said
how could you guys be agree with that update, of course it's better to have it than not.
