What people don’t realize about Animal is that Ranvijay does indeed face the consequences of his actions. He loses his senses, his wife leaves him because he cheated on her, his father is dying (despite Ranvijay doing so much to prevent that). He’s literally left with nothing.
Well that is not enough, unless Ranvijay dies. These moral policing people are no different than the far right wing people

I have a counter opinion. In Kabir Singh, the guy loses his doctor license and almost lost his girlfriend. He only gets her back by begging her keeping aside all his ego. Similarly, in Animal, he loses everything, his ears, his professional life, his heart (before transplant), and in the end his wife leaves him too.. It is a dark movie with complex emotion..
That in my view, isn't glorifying stuff..
That's why movie name is animal how you should not be. Why can't people understand this
Because you guys missed the whole point of the film. Film is very consistent. And its a character driven film not storydriven. Story is catering to character, not character catering to story. Every scene was important to understand character. He is guy who will go to any lengths to protect his family especially after betrayal by his brother in law. He will go to any length. Even if he has to go morally bankrupt. In first half he is shown as a protective force. In second half he is shown as a destructive force. It has a lot of mental voilence aswell. Even this cheating scene was important to explain how his mentality is. He literally promised his wife that he will never cheat and ends up doing exactly that. It was to show how in his obsession to protect his family that he would stoop so low. He shown as a guy constantly spiralling downward. He has got consequence for everything. He lost his sense of hearing and touch. His wife leaves him. His father is going to dieeee eitherway. He is left with nothing but with pathetic need to validation. And this movie is not about child abuse. Its based on child negligence. Its the best film of 2023, if you are mature you will understand. He did not went after the critic. Its critic who doesn't even know how to criticise. All they could talk about is ideology. No music no direction no bgm. No action set peices no drama no screenplay. Its just pathetic. Like they came with that pathetic excuse. Why there was no police. Because nothing could be tied to him. For example in college, the college is of his father. Who pulls sone strings to save him. He literally says if it wasn't for him. He would be in jail. The jija kiling scene. He kils him in hotel that is owned by himself. And he has control over security. And on top of that he disposed those bodies of. Its literally shown in the film. He even tells his sister that he disposed of the body of her husband. So it was established, nothing could be tied to him. And interval block fight scene was seen as an assassination attempt on Ranvijay. That too in his own hotel. So he fights them off in his own hotel with his own security which is his own cousin. Again Police can't tie anything to him. There were so many subtle details throughout the film. But I guess stpd Indian audience is used to spoonfeeding they just missed the half film. Its very subtle. Everything in this film was inline with the main character.
I agree.with you...did she really watched kabir...kabir lost everything...bcoz of anger issues...and in animal..his wife leaves him and despite putting everything at risk his marriage, life.., he loses his father..what a tragic ending..he never got to spend time with his dad..cheating...is not appreciated but you should consider the context in which its shown..he doesnt care about his life..forget about infidelity..he explains his wife but never forced her to live and spent her life with him..after that..and nowhere he justifies cheating and his wife takes a decision and leaves him after..anyways

I’m sorry but I don’t understand the whole issue about the movie. Why people now are talking about the movie but not talking about the Indian serials? If you see the serials now here everything is allowed. Like having affair with the brother in law or sister in law, unfaithful partner etc. Nobody talks about this only because we don’t no if a serial is a hit like the movie? Is it about the movie or about the stars?

Hey Ranveer big fan, but this time I am disappointed. Animal's basic narrative is not ''BRO'S KE SAATH JAO AND CONQUER THE WORLD". The movie is about how different situations in life force one to turn into an animal. Lack of fatherly love, fear of losing family, unstable relationships.......
Who said that the protagonist of "Kabir Singh" and "Animal" survived and did not suffer any suffering or consciousness. In "Kabir Singh", the protagonist had suffered a lot for his love and then he finally found his love. And the "Animal" Protagonist, who created so much destruction to save his father, could not save him in the end and the girl whom he loved so much also went away. There was a lot of violence in both the films and no one had any problem, the only problem was how the "woman" was treated. If the "Women" gets hit the whole movie gets flop.. Cause according to some big brainers if "Women" get hit in the "Movie" the society will become "Misoginist"... Big BS...

On the other hand if you see an Italian movie called 'Irreversible 2002', there are horrible scenes like brutality, violence and rape because of which it was also not accepted by their audience & also banned on few locations too.
But later on one of that movie artist quoted saying that actually what's being shown in that movie thats the fact, the reality which is most of us has same animal character inside of us. Only problem is when any director portrays that on screen, we don't want to see the animal inside of us, dont accept it even if its true. Today because of law and order we fear to do these but once we are freed from law then most of us will take a single day to convert ourselves into an animal.

Why this movie is bad for India ? Nowadays every second movie & TV serials justifies toxic feminism, I don't see anyone raising concerns over there.
I think Ranveer doesn't understand the difference between 'normalising' and 'just showing'. Nothing was normalised in the movie, all the consequences were shown for his wrong deed. People need to understand it's just a story and it doesn't change a good person into a bad one.

Thats what I also think that our culture since long time ago is like if someone even crosses all the limits of crime etc then he gets or should get the proper lesson at the end of his life. So yeah based on that bollywood movies are also being produced like that whether villain's character is how much of dark but at the end of the movie he or she gets the proper lesson aur sacchai ki jeet hoti hai. So we Indians are used to it which is good.
Hence, conclusion is if Animal's dark character would have come to an end in finishing scenes because of the crime they did then may be people would not have been talking about its toxicity everywhere instead some of the audience would have accepted it.
Both characters lost a big piece of their lives which the movie throws at them in start...
Hence karma affects are seen...

No idea about animal , but there was a clear glorofication of the character arjun reddy in the film. After he became a raging alcoholic druh addict he is still performing surgeries with ease, he has women from all backgrounds throw themselves at him- nurses, patients, filmstars, neighbors. He is a HERO . Like i understand that theres one mad girl in love with him. But everyone? That too when he is at his worst behavior. this happened only in the movie. In real life guys who try to be arjun reddy would also ruin their education, ruin in their career, and the life of ppl around them n then blame the girl who left him due to his bad behaviour for his failure. I guess Dhadkan's sunil shetty is an appropriate representation of what real life arjun reddy/ Kabir singhs turn out to be.

Not sure whether you've watched Kabir Singh or Arjun Reddy(I haven't seen Kabir Singh). Coz in Arjun Reddy, he cannot perform a surgery, he directs the head nurse to do it. He got his medical license revoked for that. He almost became a homeless. Even if the film star throws herself at him, He was not able to move on. He couldn't do the deed. I mean, It's always convenient for a guy to move on to a better girl, right? Yet he complains that girl was in love with him, so he couldn't do it?😂 Arjun Reddy is a complex character who doesn't know how to deal with emotions which is exactly what the director wanted to show. Just when he started making amends, everything comes in place for him. It's just how you perceive the film. If you watch it as an art, it is quite the art. As a woman, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. In my opinion, television serials pose a greater risk than this film. TV series can be excessively violent, not only in terms of physical aggression but also on a psychological level.

Great point, i was thinking of same. No doctor acts like Kabir Singh, imagining even acting like him would give us shivers. There are so many variables that play when you are in your duty alcohol on top of that will just blow away everything. You can’t be a drunkard all day and be a perfect doctor. Coming from a MBBS doctor that movie is a shame to all the doctors working really hard [may it be skipping lunch,sleepless nights,skipping family functions,etc] to engrave their name as one among best. All my non doctor friends think doctors really act like Arjun reddy or kabir singh, even after many years of that movie being released. See thats not an art that forms an impact on public mind.

I remember when 'DELHI BELLY' was released in 2011, there was a lot of discussion over its A-rated content, and in every interview, its producer Amir Khan requested people that this movie is not for everyone to watch and may not be suitable for everyone's liking. The problem with the 'ANIMAL' movie is not the story or its dark characters but its director Sandeep Vanga Reddy's thought process...he shouldn't have gone around justifying the character's toxic masculinity. Instead, it should be left to the audience to decide what they want to make out of the story, the characters and their actions.

I dint like Kabir Singh at all. But oh boy oh boy Animal blew me away its like bollywood is in the right direction and has hit it first milestone. After watching, now I wished I watched it on Cinema instead of OTT. Yes there are plot-holes but presentation, emotion and Ranbir Singh acting. Oh boy he just gave THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF HIS LIFETIME. My only complain is, I wish Bobby deol has got very less screen time. Such a iconic performance felt like unused potential. They should have introduced it from first.
