This one-block dead end turn off right in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles has some great delis and restaurants, but it's easily missed unless you know it's there!

I worked downtown LA for years, and I thought I knew the area pretty well, but I did not know about this slice of Europe in The City of Angels. Thank you! I will have to check this out!
Thanks for sharing guys. I love it when you discover unexpected little alley ways in towns and cities. :)
As a fernchman I can say, this is really disneyland-like. I can understant it is exotic for you, but it is as exotic for us too. :)
I was once in Whistler, Canada in a french Crèperie. It was funny to see how the recipe was "americanised" with a lot of gravy.
I'd also describe it more like a theme park than anything else. Not in a negative way either, but to me just more accurate. Themed structures have a long history in the LA area, going back to the early 1900s. Stores have been made to look like giant pianos, hotdogs (Tail 'o the Pup in West Hollywood---restored a few yrs ago) or a giant donut (Randy's Donuts next to the 405 Fwy in Inglewood). Some people may dismiss theme-park architecture as hokey, but I think it's fitting in the land of Hollywood make-believe & Disneyland
"with a lot of gravy" is very Canadian.
Poutine, which is from Quebec, is a good example.
I remember going through there back in the 90's. I'm glad it's still there! 👍🏿😷👍🏻🇨🇦🇵🇭🇺🇲
That's awesome! Did it look like some of the same shops were still there from your visit?
@@OddityOdysseys No they updated from what I remember it was not as colorful. It's been a long time so don't quote me 100%
Excellent video which I enjoyed watching, looking forward to your next one
Thank you for this insight into a unique little Los Angeles secret!
Very neat! Another hidden gem where you would not expect. Looks fantastic!
Looks like a nice respite after that amazing train trestle and tunnel adventure. Enjoy!.. you earned it. Must say I’ve sat and shared that story of yours with three other friends. Thanks for keeping us all inspired.
You said it Drew! "Neat spot." Don't feel left out, Bethany. You had many good comments, too. Too many to repeat here in this brief review of the video. Thumbs up to both of you! 👍👍
That’s new to me . Thank you for sharing.
I was rock'n you guys shirt yesterday
Mad Love
You should check out Old Word Village in Huntington Beach. Not as historical, but much bigger and more immersive. More german themed than anything else.
This place reminds me of Daigon Alley from Harry Potter. Super cute and looks like a place where you cam take great photos. We need a Merch Drop with your own branded Fanny Pack! I would get it.
Very cool find
Oh it’s beautiful indeed but just go a street over to 6th street and down to Pico or stick on 7th and head to Alameda and you’ll find The World Famous Skid Row. An Oddity in itself.
Ill be in Los Angeles next month, may have to check this place out
Thanks!!
At 1:30 you said “it’s definitely UNIQUE.” At the exact moment you revealed the store name - FARID. Did you know that Al Farid means unique?! Crazy moment of synchronicity if you didn’t know!!!! 😮
Cool place to put a donut shop. Good job guys.
Not really "European" but more of a Hollywood version of "Europe". They filmed a few movies in that alley, btw.
If you really want to taste Europe in the Americas, you can go to Quebec, Canada; or Buenos Aires, Argentina.
2:35? It's kinda like a OO amuse-bouche 😂
never knew that this place existed.
Neat area and now I'm hungry, g!! 😄
i will visit next time im around.
I really wanted to film a walking video here before coming to japan but never got around to it 😢
Yay! The city finally reversed its' stupid order that the cafes and eateries couldn't put tables in the alley. That rule was in place for years and really harmed those businesses. Maybe the lockdown was the final straw and the city revoked it's stupid rule. Also, FYI, at the end of the alley, at the back you are looking at the back of the Los Angeles Theater. A wonderful movie palace. Not that impressive from the back
It’ll be another camp ground soon, unfortunately!
What The ! ?
G`morning O.O.
G' Mornin', friend. Happy Saturday!
Last week was pretty good This week was
The problem is as you walk up 7th Street from the metro station, the neighborhood gets more seedy as you approach it. If you're bringing friends from out of town there, they might think you're trying to get them mugged. :/
That's a risk in any city. Don't be such a 🐔.
Where’s the McDonald’s?
Place looks nice but food is average nothing super delicious to make You want to come back . Just sandwiches and gyros . 😅
A very Americanized version of Europe. Too bad they let cars in, it looks like an interesting pedway.
"beautiful" downtown los angeles 🤭
It looks like what Americans think that Europe looks like. ;)
Beware being followed after leaving restaurants in LA . You can be followed and seen and easy target with money .
Mucho bueno “OO” 💜🩶
Thanks!
