I liked the idea of being able to study for the exams whenever I had a spare 10-15 minutes and the QuizAero courses are a fraction of the price of ground school and the textbooks (which are out of date as soon as they are published). Being able to learn in your own time and at your own pace sold it to me. 👍
Another very enjoyable watch that really celebrates the freedom and blissful adventure that these aircraft bring. The solstice theme just brings that extra bit of magic. Nice. 👍😎
That sky as the sun was setting looked amazing Paul and in crisp clear 4k. Appreciate the great video and well done on the sponsorship, you're getting noticed. 👍
Brilliant Paul. Absolutely loved this one. Fantastic Ariel footage. Really pleased you’ve got some sponsorship now. You’ll be running your own airline soon. See you soon. Work just isn’t the same. K
Brill vid, Paul. In the spirit of full disclosure I did watch Giles's vid first, but yours was ... ! 😆 Great to see you both showing what fun flying can be. I'm looking forward to seeing more adventures 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A solstice is the time when the Sun reaches its most northerly or southerly excursion relative to the celestial equator on the celestial sphere. Two solstices occur annually, around June 20-22 and December 20-22. In many countries, the seasons of the year are defined by reference to the solstices and the equinoxes. Basically the Solstice Point is the time on the date (twice each year) at which the sun reaches its maximum or minimum declination, marked by the longest and shortest days.
Paul, you're inspirational. The training course looks cheaper than buying the books. Summer solstice - I remember reading somewhere about an astronomer in Glasgow (?) Looking through a large telescope waiting for a particular star to get directly over head. I could be way off but that's all I remember.
@paulieb796 While I'm inspiring others, you are inspiring me. Did my first one mile walk yesterday. It was gard work, a slog all the way, plenty of rest stops, but I did it. You keep on showing me how wonderful flying is. Cheers.
It was one of those flights that was just a bit special. I’ve been meaning to fly on the solstice ever since I started flying. Glad I finally managed it. 👍
I used Quiz Aero too. I also recommend them to students I talk with

Yeah, but no BBQ after this one and I had to buy my own beer 😉

Thanks Terry. I’ve always been busy (or away) on the Solstice so it was nice to finally fly it. A moonlit landing felt very surreal. 👍

Don’t think I’ll be giving up the day job just yet! 👍
Oooh that was awesome, brilliant views, what an experience
Thought you’d like that one. I know you do like a sunset. 👍

Thanks Kev. Plenty more adventures planned. 👍

Nah mate. Getting over a double hip operation and training to climb a mountain is inspirational. 👏👏👏

Another great video! Really enjoying the content, thanks for bringing us along.
Thankyou. I’ve got lots of content recorded. I need to pull my finger out and start editing!
20th June 2024 was a memorable evening indeed. My instructor took my avatar shot at around 21:45, just before I landed from my GST. 😊
Wow. Not only flying the solstice but choosing that day to pass your GST. Definitely a day to remember. Congratulations 🙌
That was an amazing flight. Really enjoyed seeing your perspective.
One of those flights I’ll remember. You up for the winter solstice? 21st December. 🥶🥶🥶
@@paulieb796 I might be at home by then
That was a great flight. Thanks for taking us along. What about putting a strobe light on your machine. Thanks.
I am looking at adding some lights. The wing tips on the new wing give a perfect mounting point for something sparkly. Watch this space. 👍
What a lovely evening Paul. Yet again beautiful scenery. 👍👍

❤ I like to fly
Me too. 👍
What a fantastic flight. Bet you don’t do the winter solstice!
21st December. It’s already in my diary. 👍
