  • Forced To Use NAM? (Chat with Neutron)
    This video is a clip of a conversation I had with Neutron about what they are doing with the Neural Amp Modeler and taking profiles to the next level! In this clip we talked about why they felt they were forced to use NAM instead of every other product available.
    You can learn more about Neutron and their NAM products like the Producer Series Profiles, Quantum Acoustic Profiles, and much more here:

    I just learned about NAM last night, and downloaded the Firebelly Princeton Reverb full rig files and I’m pretty damn impressed!
    Crazy how realistic it feels.
    This is bananas.

    Good to see a youtuber discussing this.. A lot of existing youtubers wont touch NAM because they are product reviewers disguised as 'influencers or guitar youtubers' and of course there's no 'money' in reviewing NAM. There's no doubt NAM is currently #1 for its amp modeling accuracy. You could even argue objectively its the best when you see comparative nulling results between NAM, Tonex, NDSP etc..

      That is what I hear! I like them all, but NAM has something special. NAM Gang ❤️

      Or worse, some of their sponsors will not sponsor them if they mention NAM.

    Since I got a faster computer that can handle more software, I've practically ignored my pedalboard and POD Go, and exclusively used NAM for everything I've recorded since. It just works so darn well, sounds great, and is so convenient. I just plug directly into my interface and that's it. The only pedal I still use is my Digitech FreQout to create sustain and feedback at low volume. But that's it.

      @stevenkambach  5 месяцев назад +2

      Same. That is an awesome pedal too. I'm not one to take NAM live so all that other stuff still has a place at the moment, but I'm sure their days are numbered

    NAM is pretty awesome. There are so many free models, and even if you get a Soldano from one source, another will sound slightly different and you can mix them.

      Yes! Mix and match ❤️

      @@stevenkambach Mix and match on separate channels with different amps altogether to really thicken up the sound. You can burn a whole lot of time playing with that.

    • @StephGV2
      @StephGV2 3 месяца назад +1

      If you want really thick sound, you copy your raw guitar track to 3 tracks. Advance the left channel 1 millisecond. Delay the right channel 1 millisecond. The third channel will be a center mix with no delay. Use two different amps per track for a total of 6. EQ them so they don't step on each other completely. What you'll get is fake wide stereo that sounds *thick* and really fills the room. Your guitar work better be good.

      @@StephGV2 the phase issues I am foreseeing with this. Does this actually work?

    • @StephGV2
      @StephGV2 3 месяца назад +1

      @@stevenkambach Like phase cancellation? Or Flanging? You shouldn't get the first because the signal should be slightly different because different amps, you shouldn't get the second because the tracks are all the same length. There might be some frequency loss at exactly 1 and 2 kHz if you mix mono, but I don't think you'd be able to hear it.

    I'm late to the NAM party. Been using it within Genome and the tones I am getting are insane. My Quad Cortex is not on the same level. If this tech could be put into a floor unit with effects, the competition is dead.
