I can't begin to describe the level of hatred and anger that I have for our parasitic evil ruling class..... unfortunately just like during the Covid "pandemic" , most people seem oblivious and don't care. Sports and their paper property price.... I am glad that my children have 2 passports.
I tried having a conversation like this at christmas but people are more interested in what sports is on or how much their properties have increased... Its insanity.
That's why these systemic issues exist and will continue to exist. People don't want to think about it and if they do, they realise they can't change anything by themselves so they turn a blind eye. The reality is that governments (BOTH sides of politics) and corporations have become intertwined to advance their own agendas over the interests of the people. The solution is so simple (but also impossible) simply because people don't want to think about these issues - don't vote for ANYONE on the ballot paper on polling day. Think about how that would cause the system to collapse and have to be completely rebuilt.
Australia must wake up very soon or we are finished. BOTH parties are the Uniparty. I have reservations about Onenation but with the conservative vote so SPLIT they are the only real choice. We are in deep shit.

When I renewed my Irish passport 2 years ago in Australia, I went online, answered three questions in five minutes, uploaded a digital portrait, paid €105 and my passport was posted from Dublin to my doorstep within 10 days in regional Queensland.
How’s Ireland these days? I’m thinking of going back got a bit of a criminal record over here now moved with parents when I was younger no chance of citizenship
Let's *NOT* forget that Australian's are the *ONLY* country in the world that has 65% excises on fuel, cigarettes AND alcohol (ANOTHER hidden tax). Leaving is ESSENTIAL
Totally Agree with you, yes Australia is heading down the same path as America. Do you know the commonwealth bank wanted to charge it’s customers $3 if they walked into the bank and withdraw money form a telller. You are spot on. The average Aussie is asleep 😴
In some ways we are much further along.. been watching Americans FIGHT.. something we barely do.. we simply became too "polite" to discuss anything, MOST Aussies just ignored the governments as long as THEY are comfortsble they all know they are corrupt too, all more reason to watch them??
@ yes I agree Aussies are too comfortable and ignore the govt. It is getting pretty scary with the way things are going. When they wake up it will be too late. I plan to be out of here by the end of this year. It’s a pity I do love Australia 🇦🇺 but can’t tolerate it anymore
Australia (my sad country of birth) has one of the most corrupt bureaucracies in the world and I live and do business in ASEAN! Oz is destroying itself, The passports cost about $35 to make at that scale... you figure the rest out.
It's the politicians. The public servants are doing their best to represent the public interest, while politicians are doing the bidding of private and mainly foreign interests.... Nuclear subs and power the latest corruption that the Murdoch propoganda will tell you what is best for you and drown out everyone else standing up for Australians
Not only corrupt bureaucracies but politicians as well , if you look at theirs assets and theirs investment share not on theirs name but on the wives, the sons and daughters , they made laws to benefit themselves, inside information trading pass to theirs family , rotten travel allowance and massive golden hand shake to get out of politic and retirement early with high pay for the rest of theirs lives .
I have to agree as many fought for this country died and built it , something I herd today UN behind it , none of our boys men or women should go to war, as what for , not Australia or our freedoms. My advice the only one you should die for is Jesus Christ or to save a person.
My friend is traveling on his Czech Passport which cost 50 $ in Czech Republic to be issued and with his Australian Citizenship Certificate and he has some minor issues on the borders, but they must let him enter Australia as the Citizenship Certificate is the proof of his AU Citizenship, doesn't matter if he is using his Czech Passport as the dual citizenship is allowed by Australian constitution.
@@jeanvonbarberode2377awesome. I was wondering about that. I'm going to enjoy doing that with my UK passport. Hopefully if enough people do it then the govt will back down
Quite honestly it is a depressing misery living in Australia these days. There is ZERO sense of community anymore. I walk around my local oval walking track at night and if you didn't tell me where I was I would say I was in China. All seem to come out at night. Then the hideous expense of EVERYTHING. Nickle and dimed everywhere you go. Just going to the supermarket fills me with rage these days. I am staying home as much as possible and only really leaving to exercise. Running has been my outlet for the past year. I am only 32 and I feel so depressed and lost here these days, I don't see any future and life is barely worth living for me.
My inland city looks like I stepped off a plane in India. The cities democratics changed overnight. Statistics show, Indians will be the majority in Australia by the end of the decade. Now, I'm not racist against Indians etc but this is Australia, not India 2.0. It isn't their fault. It's the government's fault. Namely Albo, for destroying our culture.
Community culture has moved to Asia mate. There are large swaths of White expats here too in the cities. I'm same age as you and felt the exact same way about Aus. Moved to SEA last year. It's much healthier for ones mind and soul to live in SEA than Aus. Aus is crushing. An added bonus, everything is cheap around here. You will make back the $412 nickel and diming BS with your grocery shopping bill being cut in half.
I never go out much these days. Where I live the council is more interested in the big bucks that industry gives it to build poluting noisey factories near homes, crime is rife, local crime watch people funded by the council drive around in council funded cars but don't actually do anything other than report things to the police if they can be bothered and aren't asleep in theri cars (which I and others have seen a lot). They keep telling us how great they are, keep raising council taxes but don't actually do anything. The government are now starting to instal smart meters so it they think you have used to much power they switch your aircon, hot water, stove, fridge off as punshment. We are becoming a dystonian country.
Move to south east Asia. You'll never regret it when the smile on your face comes back. I've been travelling back an forth every year but plan to make the move permanent asap. AUS has completely lost the plot.
The problem is Australia is the most reliant in the world on PAYG tax to provide its income instead of things such as taxing ore and minerals properly. As a result, as our population ages more and more, the govt becomes more reliant on immigration to keep the taxes coming in and increasing the costs of govt services. If we just taxed the ore properly, neither of those would be needed.
If we had a fair income tax system,. We're every one pays an set amount for every dollar be good for everyone,. Oh except the rich and corporations, and politicians
@@rebeccasouthall1249 ..."except the rich and corporations"...so then not a set amount for everyone...and if you only earn $20,000 pa, these people who are less fortunate should pay the same tax as those earning $150,000 pa...seems like your point just fell apart
Out of the all of the comments here (most of which are inaccurate or just whinging), yours actually makes logical sense (although its Income tax not PAYG tax, as PAYG is just a withholding system that is credited against your income tax at year end)....we are just giving our resources to anyone who will buy at way below market rate whilst the Australian public pays exorbitant energy prices for our own natural gas....there is certainly some rorting going on with the sale of our natural resources and the Government does nothing about it
Asia is a big place with many nations. Sure some are more corrupt than others but doesnt mean you can label all of Asia as " corrupted". If say, China is so corrupted, how than its able to build modern infrastructure, hardly any homeless and tent cities etc. and able to lend others nations money and build their infrastructure? Also Singapore have high population density but most own their apartments and house, highest home ownership is in Asia, like Singapore, China, Vietnam, Malaysia etc. Now compare to a tiny population with huge lands like Aus. You be surprised at how corrupted Australia banks and Government are.
But the Aust Govt will hold you here for 2 years before you can go overseas, if you intend receiving the aged pension. Other countries respect their aged workers who paid taxes all their lives, here they hope you die paying huge rents and other costs before they let you enjoy a few final years in a tropical paradise.
I wrote an entire book on this regarding Housing and Homelessness (and yes GST and passports) and Australian publishers "loved it" but didn't want to be the one to publish it. We have a billion dollar homeless shelter pocketing the money, not using it to repair anything or fund anything ECT and are abusing the people there. We have Anglercare and Housing actively making people homeless instead of help them off the streets. All of this has been reported and proven but still I watch so so many people see this, experience it and still believe Australia isn't corrupt. 😐😤 Also, I've dreamt of having a passport for decades and have watched it gets further out of reach. It's not just if you cannot afford an excessively high passport then you should not be traveling. Because you can't win an all expenses paid trip, or go with family or someone else paying the rest of it and you cannot take up education options overseas unless you can get your passport yourself. I for one VERY much feel forcibly trapped by my country. I watched (with millions) a prime minister use the poorest of his people to get reelected and then b- slapped us all a few weeks later on national television. ....then watched it gets washed away like it never happened. Three things are abundantly true about Australia, The government do NOT give a s#$#@ about its people they just pretend to. There are no opportunities or education options, again, only the illusion. ....and yes it is a big time corrupt country people just pretend it isn't. On top of that, If they ever let us out there'd be no one left in this country. Most people do not want to stay. I don't and it's because the government has used, abused and made utterly everything I ever do twice as hard or completely impossible. They create the situation that leads me to poverty, prevent or directly ruin any avenues out and then blame me (and anyone else in a similar boat) Found a education option overseas, just had to get my own passport - that wasn't the only way they ruined that. They are now doing it to all with food prices. Yep, it's corrupt as hell and doesn't care one bit.
I was left homeless in Aus in 2023 and the system took weeks to find us a shelter, and when they finally did, it was so far away from us, had no internet connection so I couldn't search for jobs or room vacancies and had a stupid 3-4 day limit that you had to travel to centrelink to renew your stay every couple of days and then you only had an allotted amount of "homeless days" per year before you were no longer eligible to stay in the homeless shelter and have to be put out on the street. Meanwhile they import so many immigrants that finding a rental is near impossible due to the extreme demand and every application for a place to rent now requires like 12 pages of increasingly complex documentation and data points on you because now everyone is also a dataminer on top of it all. I gave up and left the country once I found a vacancy in a sardine can sharehouse so I could set up my PC, I renewed passport, bought a plane ticket and haven't been back. South East Asia is a paradise in comparison. I rent an apartment in a gated community that's a 5 min walk from the beach, and it only took a 5 minute meeting with the landlord in person to sort it all out, meanwhile Aus now has multiple rounds of interviews for renting a granny flat an hour outside of Sydney.
Australia has been on a downward trajectory since the Bretton Woods system was scrapped internationally. The ripple effect of the fiat based ponzi scheme is being felt throughout the world beholden to the US dollar. Australia has enough natural resource wealth to give its citizens access to free healthcare (inlcuding dental), shelter, education and energy, probably even what equates to an UBI. Instead we have been influenced by corporations, foreign power and a fiat based international ponzi financial system. Enough is enough. There is no "wealth for toil" in Australia. Australia has most not been advancing "fair" We have constantly been lied to by our politicians and media whilst being distracted by their transitory and manufactured issues. Wake up Australia, we are all getting screwed. We have the ability to enact change; it all starts with the individual. It may be tempting and easier to stick your head in the sand and think "she'll be right" "I can't do anything" We all have the power to make meaningful change, not with "elections and democracy" but by personal choices and actions. It's a house of cards about to fall on a global scale.. Build community, look out for each other, be kind, be compassionate to all..
Traveling overseas apparently is up 44 % . I think a lot of people are leaving Australia because it's too expensive . I know of a couple personally leaving to go live in Malaysia in a week or so . The country is a Basket case thanks to Labor and the Greens , and Libs are no better .
💯💯💯💯 ‘Australia is corrupt’….. Look at Duttons’s $300 000 000. And he’s the opposition leader. We need the U.S. Bill of Rights and the Swiss system of Direct Democracy. A DOGE is vital. Reduce the number of politicians, bureaucrats and public servants - retrospectively their pension and perks. The Uniparty, Teals and Watermelons must go. A paradigm shift is needed. I’m voting One Nation.
Hi Mitch, i am a Malaysian who has been living in Australia for many years. Just wanna say that i love your Malaysia videos and i am glad that you and your family are happy there. I am also planning to retire back in Malaysia, coz Australia is too expensive and is falling behind in so many areas. (And both major parties suck) Keep up the good work !
Great to hear from you and a Malaysian perspective on Australia. I try explaining this to Asians who want to go to Australia to live and work. I tell them that they're better off being poor in SE Asia than being wealthy in Australia.
@Bobafe77a Thank you for the kind reply. Ya, I don't think Australia is an attractive option anymore for migrants. I don't think it is as good as 20 to 30 years ago. Unless you have specific skills and experiences ( ie. Cyber Security, Data Science, Medical specialist etc) Don't bother coming to Australia, as the cost of living, housing cost, safety etc are terrible.
@@Bobafe77aThe saying is it's better to be a poor free man than a rich slave or prisoner.. Yes it's absolutely disgusting what this current Australian Government is doing to the country and its citizens. As someone who now needs to renew their passport as it expired last month, I'm appalled at the cost of renewal as it's clearly just another cash grab tax plain and simple. More taxes in already the most heavily taxed country in the world. The shit thing is even if you live out of Australia most of the year, you'll still need an Australian passport to go in and out of the country. Total rort.
It's NOT the government you vote for that's doing it, have a look at the ones you don't see, the ones that get 7-8% salary increases EVERY single year no matter the economic circumstances or their competence and performance. Australia has one of the most corrupt bureaucracies in the world and you can use passports as an example - my wife in Thailand gets the same / better smart passport for AUD$25 and I pay 20x that? But look at the Gas and resources, Australia is the 2nd largest producer of natural gas in the world behind USA and yet the Ozzie citizen pays 550% more on average than the USA... the list is long...
Problem is that if libs get in nothing will change. They are all full of shit, will all continue to pump us with 3rd world immigration, keep taxing us more and more while giving cash to their corporate buddies and keep making laws to protect a certain minority group that hates freedom.
The Passport Office received full salaries for two years during COVID without delivering any service. Taxation needs reform-one tax only: either income tax or service fees, not both. Back in 2000, we voted to introduce the GST with the promise that all other state taxes would be eliminated. Yet, that democratic decision was ignored by a self-serving political system. Fast forward to 2008: the federal parliament scrapped the Competitive Public Service policy after Telstra proposed a $6.4 billion plan to build a superior NBN. Instead, we ended up squandering $80+ billion on what we have today. Meanwhile, don’t expect state-owned media (ABC) or the government to launch an inquiry into its own failures.
Man I remember the slogan Come to Australia you will get a house a Holden car and have money to live on comfortably:) Now we can't afford a House, Holden is gone and we don't have any money to live on:(
Don't start me!!!!! What about the "luxury car tax". The fabled Kevin Rudd introduced this tax. Why do they tax these cars, because they can. If you have enough money to buy.a car over $80,000 then you pay an exorbitant tax for no real reason. Doesn't matter if you worked 15 jobs to achieve this, they don't care, they want more tax to give it to others who sit on their arse all day. Or dare I say, give it to people who have a household income of $500,000 for childcare three days a week. Albanese and his like-minded followers are killing this country.
Don't forget the middle class corrupted and destroyed all the left wing parties because they stupidly thought they make money like how kept voting in Howard and he back stabbed them all in hours like 3 times in a row. They do that to stomp on the poor. It's a historical trend that keeps happening like in 1930s Germany. They got backstabbed real quick and now Labor and and even the greens are far right.. Don't even try to make out Corporate technocrats are socialists lol I had enough of that ignorant drivel. Rudd was right possibly far right I don't pay attention anymore but Albanese pretending to be A socialist is a front. I use to care but Australia died long ago and the people gleefully and cruelly killed it to partly please the yanks.. They get the bulk of the money and they are planning to kill us. China probably wants to exploit us but eventually.

It's important to be aware of the travel restrictions for Australian disability pensioners. A pensioner is generally permitted to travel outside of Australia for a maximum of four weeks per year. Crucially, exceeding this time frame can result in the loss of their disability pension. This is one of many examples of the systematic hatred that Australian (uni-party) governments and their bureaucrats have for the people of Australia.

Someone in the comments mentioned the fearmongering about other countries which is broadcast on Australian media. It's true! Whatever happened to those medical ''experts'' Kerrie Chant, Bradd Hazard, Nick Coatsworth and the other tyrants including Scummo, they seem to have vanished off the face of the earth, with their millions...
Then there's the fact that many people who don't or can't travel still need a passport. Take an elderly person like my mum, who needed to prove her identity when my dad passed away, so she could get access to the bank accounts he left to her in his Will. The bank demanded a current drivers licence or passport as proof of identity, citing Government regulations that had come into effect since she first opened her bank accounts many decades ago. Trouble is she can't renew her drivers licence because she can hardly see these days & she didn't have a passport because she doesn't intend to ever travel overseas again in her state of infirmity. Yet she was forced to get a passport just so she could satisfy the bank as to her identity. Then the Government slugs her with these exorbitant fees. The same Australian Government that introduced the draconian banking regulations in the first place. If they're going to effectively make passports compulsory to function in society, and not even for their original purpose of being an international travel document, as they did to my mum, then a very good case could be made that they should be free, or at least Government subsidised, not exorbitantly expensive!
This is what happens when you have a corporation (GovCorp) running the country instead of a legitimate government. Corporations are profit-driven. It used to be them that paid taxes from their huge profits to fund the countries needs. Now its the people (the real Commonwealth) that pay huge amounts of tax while corporations pay nothing. GovCorp and the corporations are mates and we are the ones that have been taken for a ride. They can give $30,000,000,000 of taxpayers money to Ukraine (a country most aussies dont give 2 shits about) yet we have people here sleeping in the street. Go figure that one out. Things need to change and we need to take back and act on our rights and reinstall a legitimate government for the people, that we can dictate to, and not the other way around.
Aussies get ripped off at every turn, buy a neck pillow at Sydney airport $59 buy the same neck pillow at Manila airport $4 Australia relentlessly and with absolute contempt for the Australian people rips off and treads upon its citizens. shame
I don't know what caused them to hate us so much. But I am glad to see other Aussies are waking up to the fact our government seethingly hates us and actively stuffs us over and then tries to pull the wool over our eyes about it at the same time.
Your inability to think far enough ahead not to have to buy one at the airport is somehow the governments fault? Maybe you think the government should set the price a private enterprise can charge for goods?
If you cannot see why there is a price difference in a city like Manila and Sydney for goods then it shows you have zero understanding of how basic economics works.
Australia needs a Musk/Vivek DOGE. The government costs us 44% of GDP. The British Empire at its peak was run on only 11% of GDP. That's shows how bloated the Australian government is.
Vivek is a scammer. But I agree that there needs to be an independent audit of the Australian government and we need smaller government with less overreach and less regulation.
They are cooking the books for sure. The average wealth of the now many Aussie expats I run into would be magnitudes higher than the average migrants wealth that they are frontloading into the country to paper over the lack of economic growth they are stagnating with. It's going to come unstuck soon enough. Even many migrants from places like India are questioning what the hell they got themselves into when they thought they'd be going to live in a new paradise to build their dreams only to find the reality is that they are working big weeks only to have enough to pay bills and taxes.
Freedom of movement, including the right to leave a country, is a fundamental human right recognized under Australian law, the Australian Constitution, and international treaties. Below is an outline of its protection in these areas: 1. Australian Law The Australian Constitution - Freedom of movement, including the right to leave the country, is generally treated as a common law right but can be limited by legislation. Legislation Australian Passports Act 2005 (Cth): The right to leave Australia is conditional on possessing a valid passport. Passports can be refused, suspended, or canceled under specific conditions, such as national security concerns, law enforcement requests, or family law orders. Biosecurity Act 2015 (Cth): Restrictions on leaving Australia can be imposed during health emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic 2. International Law Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Article 13(2): States, "Everyone has the right to leave any country, including their own, and to return to their country." While the UDHR is non-binding, it reflects global principles that influence Australian law. International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) Article 12(2): Recognizes the right to leave any country, including one's own. Australia ratified the ICCPR in 1980, and it is binding on the country. If a passport costs $400 then leaving the country is a privilege and not a right. Binding Status in Australia. While Australia is a party to the ICCPR, its provisions are not directly enforceable in domestic courts unless implemented through legislation. For instance, the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Act 2011 ensures federal legislation is compatible with Australia’s international human rights obligation Freedom to leave the country is recognized and protected under international law (e.g., ICCPR) and supported by Australia's common law and legislative framework. However, it is not absolute and can be restricted under certain circumstances, such as public health emergencies or national security concerns.
1:52 ish. The Australian Passport is part of an Australian's personal verification process. We don't have a National ID. We use Passport, Medicare card and driver's licence to as personal verification just to open a bank account. So every Australian, citizen or not needs a passport. It's not optional. Every Australian needs a passport. You even need a passport ideally to get a tax file number to pay your tax. An Australian citizen should never have to pay for a passport.
Good points, though you can reach 100 points of ID without needing a passport, you just need to make up for it with a heck of a lot of other documents or forms of ID, most of which the average person doesn't have. And even with a passport sometimes getting to 100 points is still a pain in the ass.
Thankyou Mitch for putting IT out there! .It seems to me that we Australians are veeery slow to WAKE UP!! 'She'll be right mate' is no more, because its NOT!! WAKE UP AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!
Hi Mitch , recently in Parliament Senator Malcolm Roberts said that tax payers are paying - in total ( including eg . tax on bread , fruit , fuel etc. etc. ) ~ 68% of our income ( work from Monday to Thursday lunch time to pay for the taxes , then from Thursday afternoon & Friday that's 'yours' ) . The Politicians are becoming millionaires off the tax payers . Pauline for PM ( also big thankyou to the ONE NATION TEAM ) , cheers ( Aussie ) Phil .
The numbers are incredible for example in 2022-23 taxation revenue increased 10.6%. income tax 14.9%. Company tax 20.9%. GST 14.2%. Excises, oil LPG and petroleum products 18.1%. Payroll tax 20.2%. Land tax 21.2%. Taxes on gambling devices rose 37.8%. And expenditures $691 billion 2023 - 2027: $829 billion.

My Polish passport is ranked 6th globally in terms of travel freedom by the 2024 Henley Passport Index. It allows visa-free travel to 189 countries, including: The Schengen countries, The United Kingdom, The United States, Canada, and Australia. Also Israel. Which you on your Malaysian passport cannot enter. I also don't pay a cent for a Chinese visa. Malaysian passports are spoiled by the Chinese who own them and who engage in trafficking of humans and protected animals. Australian and other countries border control are always on alert when they see a Chinese holding a Malaysia passport.
It seems now we also have to get clearance from ATO to sell our own house. If not, pay massive tax and claim back next year. They claim it's to stop foreign investment.
So what is the point of earning 50k USD or 200k USD when you cant even live a decent living standards and afford much compare to others nations earning less ? So its not how much you earn but the PPP ( purchasing power parity) of the currency within your domestic economy. I mean, look at it this way also, I have realized that USA have a " world reserve currency " mesning they can literally print to pay off their debts to foreign creditors nation but still borrows more from other nations.

Also, I've dreamt of having a passport for decades and have watched it gets further out of reach.
Three things are abundantly true about Australia,
The government do NOT give a s#$#@ about its people they just pretend to.
They create the situation that leads me to poverty, prevent or directly ruin any avenues out and then blame me (and anyone else in a similar boat)
Found a education option overseas, just had to get my own passport - that wasn't the only way they ruined that.

Australia has most not been advancing "fair"
We have constantly been lied to by our politicians and media whilst being distracted by their transitory and manufactured issues.
Wake up Australia, we are all getting screwed.
We have the ability to enact change; it all starts with the individual.
It may be tempting and easier to stick your head in the sand and think "she'll be right" "I can't do anything"
We all have the power to make meaningful change, not with "elections and democracy" but by personal choices and actions.

Doesn't matter if you worked 15 jobs to achieve this, they don't care, they want more tax to give it to others who sit on their arse all day. Or dare I say, give it to people who have a household income of $500,000 for childcare three days a week. Albanese and his like-minded followers are killing this country.
Dutton is also like-minded. Both parties have the same sponsors.
Don't forget the middle class corrupted and destroyed all the left wing parties because they stupidly thought they make money like how kept voting in Howard and he back stabbed them all in hours like 3 times in a row.
WOW sorry for your mum, but that's good to know as we age.

Freedom of movement, including the right to leave a country, is a fundamental human right recognized under Australian law, the Australian Constitution, and international treaties. Below is an outline of its protection in these areas:
1. Australian Law
The Australian Constitution - Freedom of movement, including the right to leave the country, is generally treated as a common law right but can be limited by legislation.
Legislation
Australian Passports Act 2005 (Cth): The right to leave Australia is conditional on possessing a valid passport. Passports can be refused, suspended, or canceled under specific conditions, such as national security concerns, law enforcement requests, or family law orders.
Biosecurity Act 2015 (Cth): Restrictions on leaving Australia can be imposed during health emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic
2. International Law
Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
For instance, the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Act 2011 ensures federal legislation is compatible with Australia’s international human rights obligation
Freedom to leave the country is recognized and protected under international law (e.g., ICCPR) and supported by Australia's common law and legislative framework.
