1: Collect paper-y things to stick in your sketchbook 2: Add things to interact with throughout your sketchbook 3: Have a theme 4: Use a variety of mediums 5: Add boarders on the corners/around the page 6: Fill the whole page 7: Use references
I’m so glad this helped!! I’ve never tried to make a story out of sketchbook pages, definitely something I need to check out! Thank you for the idea! :)
You're artsyle is so adorable! I love making my sketchbook have spreads dedicated to one character. Like showing the character in different poses or doing different things, because it really shows off your OC's personality!
This is such a fun take on the topic of sketchbook aesthetics. Plenty of these sketchbook spread videos seem to just focus on making everything look neat and organized. Which looks amazing, but honestly for me that approach often results in half finished spreads because I had plans instead of inspiration. And now I can't add to that page anymore because it's already destined for something else. I mean, I could, but I can't. You know. Your tips are more about having fun with it, and they lend themselves well to adding to whatever style or approach people feel comfortable with. Messy or organized, planned or spontaneous, filled to the brim or spacey, quirky or classic, all in one go or coming back to it several times, it's all good. I love that. So thank you very much for this positive video! I hope it gets seen by lots of young/beginning artists, as it surely will help them explore how they like to work instead of focusing on what a page could look like at the end. I hope you'll make more positive encouraging videos like this, it's so helpful and needed.
This is probably one of the nicest comments I have ever read 😭 I’m so glad you enjoyed my approach on this topic! I know when I started wanting to make my sketchbooks more “aesthetic” I was super overwhelmed by all the “just make it neat” videos I saw! I’m glad my video didn’t give off that and is helpful!!
@@palexpixels You're very welcome. It's so cool that you figured out your own methods of making your sketchbook look good. And then you went ahead and identified them and made a video that explains very well how you prefer to do it. Thereby giving others those same tools to try out for themselves. Thank you, you're awesome.
I’m definitely adding some receipts and drawing cutouts I can find to add to my sketchbook now!! The intro and ending with your character is also such a great addition!
I have a idea to draw your oc and then just making a moveable gacha paper doll and then keeping it in a pocket of the sketchbook. Sorry i am not good at explaining.
