Thanks for the information. Very in-depth yet straight to the point. I do everything but do not like contrast levels of IPS nor TN panels. i know you are a busy man working already on projects and what im gonna say wont look very appealing but there is a new monitor that i couldnt find any info besides the manufacturers that is , its released less than a month before its the AORUS FI25F, 240 hz IPS 1080p that claims super fast IPS 0.4 response time. but from my understanding and reddit searching its like the KD25F but upgraded to the latest techs. with black equalizer aim stabilizer and all that they also brag about their VESA 400 HDR. LOL just something to have in mind :)
Good stuff as always. Love the monitor reviews, I can understand them and enjoy them at the same time. A monitor I'd love to see you review is the dell s3220dgf. Its also a curved beauty.
What you said about the response time kinda worried me about buying the monitor. I personally am buying this just to do schoolwork and competitive VALORANT and maybe some other FPS games like Cold War/Warzone. I have a budget of $250 and just looking for a 144hz monitor that is 27inches and the rest doesn’t matter. Would you recommend getting this since it’s on sale rn, or something else?
it has 1ms response time, which is top tier for the price. Its also 229 now on bestbuy, I heard samsungs shipping is sus so I bought it from bestbuy instead plus protection plan if you need one. Im a console player tho so these specs are perfect for series x I think. Freesync to match game fps and hz higher than 120 which is the max of the series x anyway.
Hey Bijan! I've been subscribed for a while but I just wanted to say thanks for the great content. One thing I wish you and all content creators, critics, reviewers etc. would include are your biases or context. In other words, you can put something in the Description of your videos about yourself, how you typically use the type of products that you review, and what you are not or not into. For example, you can say that you used to be a diehard FPS gamer and almost went pro, you typically game and edit videos on monitors, you're not a spec freak like HW or GN, and you're not that concerned about certain secondary features like viewing angles (seriously, why is this even a consideration on any monitor below 32"?!). Context like this will help your viewers better judge what you're saying and showing against their own biases and contexts, especially viewers who are not familiar with you. For example, wouldn't it be nice to know what games a game reviewer usually plays in their personal time, and what factors matter and don't matter to them?
There are people like me who suffer neck and back problems who need to really play with where it stands. Sometimes I just lay down where I sit, then I can't see shit.
Haven't used a nipple button yet , but they seem terrible to use imo. One or two quick hard buttons must also come with monitors for things like source , contrast/brightness modes. Great video 👌
In my opinion, the nipple is the best form of navigation. A lot of monitors don't label the buttons from the front so you have to guess which button does what. Also it's always a pain in the butt when adjusting the picture. I can never remember which button is up, down, or select. The nipple makes it easy because it's pretty much a d-pad.
i had the version before this, its call LC27jg50, i not sure whether this G5 is supposed to be an improvement over my model but honestly i had good experience with my unit, but its my first high refresh unit and i jumped from 60hz 1440p monitor, the different in motion clarity was big for me, i improve so much in my fps game
Great video as always! The G5 seems like a good budget option for a 1440p monitor with better than entry level HDR. Definitely not great for fast paced games with that poor motion performance though.
Helpful review. Thank you. This is most likely the monitor (the 379$ 32 inch variant) I will be buying in the next handful of weeks. It won't be my primary viewing device. It's strictly for my Xbox Series X and the native 1440p/120 fps support. Have a Samsung QLED TV for everything else.
So what would you recommend for me the Odyssey G5 or the Gigabyte G27Q? The G27Q have an IPS Display with 1440p, 144hz, HDR400 and 120% sRGB, 85% Adobe RGB and 92% DCI P3
Thank you, but not everyone plays fast twitch FPS. So we have to sit through a dozen reviews centered around that type of play to hear in the last 10 seconds of the videos that it will be great for casual games.
Being incompetent in competitive gaming isn't something that can be fixed by buying a more expensive monitor. You blame your own failure on the monitor's speed. You are nitpicking so much. You are like: My car, which I bought for half the price, is not as fast as expensive cars, so it's bad... You are waiting for flagship performance from a product that is not. If you want a flagship experience then just go and buy a flagship product. This is a budget product and it's doing its job very well.

I just bought the 32" 2k 144Hz G5. First impression was pretty good, amazing curve, good 144hz, nice overall. Then I entered a dark area in a game... When moving in a dark/grey scene, the screen is TOO BLURRY, completely unplayable. I was playing Metro in BF3, when I go to room with poor light, cant play, is like being drunk in GTA. I have tried everything to mitigate this. I am very dissapointed with this G5, is a shame bcs i love the curve, but this HUGE amount of blur and ghosting is not acceptable in a 400$ monitor. I AM GOING TO RETURN THIS to the store. Looking right now between 2 LG displays, an IPS (27GL850-B) and a VA (LG 32GK650F-B)
I think I bought the newer version or asia spec version (I'm not sure) of this for roughly $175 on sale, I don't think at that price point I can complain about build quality or design considering the specs it provides. PS. Reason I think its newer version is cause mine came with DP 1.4

I got mine shipped to my door same day for $292 tax & shipping included. 1440, 27inch, 144Hz(up'd to 165) can't be beat for the price. Fine me something that ticks those boxes and costs sub $300 all paid.
Nice review! I definitely think you should do more 1440p high refresh rate monitor reviews, as that's the sweet-spot for AAA gaming right now. Cheers
I needed a monitor better suited for fast paced shooters than my AW3418DW and bought the VG259QMY after seeing your review and I love it. I just discovered the AW2721D though and it looks like the best of both of my monitors in one. Would love to see a hands on review of this one from you!
27 inch 1440p 240Hz IPS 1ms in "Extreme Mode"
Thanks for the information. Very in-depth yet straight to the point. I do everything but do not like contrast levels of IPS nor TN panels. I game but not competitive I usually play single-player experiences. I usually use a calibrated Samsung TN panel or my big 4k VA hdr tv for media editing and content creation. I guess I'm getting this mostly for gaming and utilizing the full capabilities of my console and PC hardware.
I like your content dude. You go deep enough with the important information where others would just say that it's a good looking monitor, but not too deep, where it would start to get boring. Really nice balance I would say.
That’s my goal. Glad to know it’s working 😉
It made me so happy that you used Escape from Tarkov as a test subject! it's like the only game I play!!!
You should review 1440p monitors for PS5, we need to know what to buy to get the most from PS5 performance.
A TV.
Then you would not want a 1440p monitor at all since the PS5 doesn't support it. You need to check out 1080p@144hz or 4k@60hz panels.
Ok but at 290$ for a 2k , 144hz 1ms panel .. its hard to get better no?
Nothing can compete with it in that price range great value
I"m thinking about buying this today, but the lack of height adjustement got me thinking twice. It's now on sale at 250€ while 350€ being the normal price.
Just wanted to came back and inform yall that I did end up buying the monitor. Hopefully a good choice.
@@og_sane let me know what you think?? Maybe getting it today..:/ cant decide
@@ND-ku4yo Unfortunately I don't have it yet. I ordered it from a web store and will get it next Thursday, or something like that. But what I've found out about the monitor, it's a good choice. Especially if you're on a tight budget like me.
@@og_sane Okok, sounds nice! My biggest concern is now if the HDRfunction will work on next gen consoles, planning on getting a PS5 later (not that HDR is super important but it's nice to know it will work some how) Cant find anything about it online, mostly about the G7 :(
@@ND-ku4yo Yea that's true, there's not enough info on the net about the G5. Of course the G7 would've been even better monitor, but it's just way too ecpensive right now. Hopefully you'll make the decision before the discount's are over :) Good luck and I still think G5 is a good choice. And about the HDR, just gotta hope it'll work on PS5, because I'm also gonna buy it at some point. Have a nice evening.
Just gone from 2 x Asus 32" curved 1080p 144HZ to 2 X Samsung G5 monitors and wow what a difference! highly recommend.
I’m likely gonna be using this mostly for less competitive games/story mode, Witcher GTA etc, I have a 1080p monitor I use for competitive so this seems perfect for me
1440p 144hz is great for the series S. No fancy features which isn’t a big deal for only $300. This is one of the best/only options to choose from for $300 or less. It’s very bare bones but it gets your foot in the door. Besides I’ll be way too busy gaming to worry about the outer hardware
You’re able to achieve 120 fps on the Series S?
@@StewieLokz3707 depending on the game, and whether they focus on video quality or performance.
@@StewieLokz3707 true and only if whatever you play it on is capable of 120 hz at minimum

I'm thinking about buying a 144hz monitor, and on my country this one is 230€. Before finding this deal, I was going to buy a 179€ ASUS TUF Gaming VG24VQ. Is it worth the extra money? Thanks in advance. PS: G5 is also the cheapest 1440p 144hz monitor right now in my country.
i know you are a busy man working already on projects and what im gonna say wont look very appealing but there is a new monitor that i couldnt find any info besides the manufacturers that is , its released less than a month before its the AORUS FI25F, 240 hz IPS 1080p that claims super fast IPS 0.4 response time. but from my understanding and reddit searching its like the KD25F but upgraded to the latest techs. with black equalizer aim stabilizer and all that they also brag about their VESA 400 HDR. LOL just something to have in mind :)
10:21 love the transition 👍👍👍 that's like litterally 3 steps ahead of other reviewers ;)
Just got one from Amazon for £199 brand new for my son for his Xbox series S nice review keep the good work up
Hi, was this in the UK? Can't seem to find it under £300?
It was on for £239.99 I got some discount because staff discount lol
I have this monitor at first I was worried abt the curve but now I love it
So this monitor is "you get what you pay for" which is comparable to Samsung's mobile phone offering.
Went with the G7. Good videos bro.
Good stuff as always. Love the monitor reviews, I can understand them and enjoy them at the same time.
A monitor I'd love to see you review is the dell s3220dgf. Its also a curved beauty.
dude great videos I'm happy to see your blowing up
Definitely would like to watch more 1440p monitors reviews.
Now I'm feeling pretty good that I got this for $260 seemed like a good deal!
@@1208KenyonM alright thanks for the clarification man.
Damn, this was sooo perfectly explained AND executed !
Lool you actually did the G5 review, dope!
i upgraded from a old 24" 1080p monitor to this, i got the 27" Odyssey G5 on sale for 1900kr (190$), great review! 😊
Why is this dude only complaining about the adjustmenta and material who cares you'll not gonna touch it anyway after you put it on your desk??
1st world problems lol
There are people like me who suffer neck and back problems who need to really play with where it stands. Sometimes I just lay down where I sit, then I can't see shit.
Adjustment is not essential? Dude u play ludo on pc or what
Ofc, what would you expect at that budget? Titanium Stand or something? They have to cut money somewhere right?
Haven't used a nipple button yet , but they seem terrible to use imo.
One or two quick hard buttons must also come with monitors for things like source , contrast/brightness modes.
Great video 👌
In my opinion, the nipple is the best form of navigation. A lot of monitors don't label the buttons from the front so you have to guess which button does what. Also it's always a pain in the butt when adjusting the picture. I can never remember which button is up, down, or select. The nipple makes it easy because it's pretty much a d-pad.
@@nokia6800 ofcourse 🤣🤣🤣 you are biased cuz u r a nokia 6800 👀👀 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

@@Mashburn007you got me there. I forgot that phone also had a nipple lol I guess I'm m just a nipple guy 😅

i had the version before this, its call LC27jg50, i not sure whether this G5 is supposed to be an improvement over my model but honestly i had good experience with my unit, but its my first high refresh unit and i jumped from 60hz 1440p monitor, the different in motion clarity was big for me, i improve so much in my fps game
Great video as always! The G5 seems like a good budget option for a 1440p monitor with better than entry level HDR. Definitely not great for fast paced games with that poor motion performance though.
I'm using your channel for buying my new monitor for my pc. I have seen this and the 240hz acer predator monitor review. Very indepth. Keep it up
Helpful review.
U can forget about the hdr in that monitor but I would recommend the gigabyte one
I can’t wait for you to hit 100k!
I bet before the end of 2021
Thank you, but not everyone plays fast twitch FPS. So we have to sit through a dozen reviews centered around that type of play to hear in the last 10 seconds of the videos that it will be great for casual games.
Nice editing especially with the film montage on the monitor.
Great review! I'm currently looking for a monitor and this is right in the price range I was looking for. This review helped me pull the trigger on buying one of these!

Thank you for this review, very complete review. I learnt some stuff on VA, TN and IPS panels thanks this review. I would like if you can make a review of the LG 29WL500-B WIDE IPS 1080P 21:9 2K FREESYNC. A cheap wide fhd monitor thats affordable from LG. Subscribed and Liked!.
this is the best review on this screen u can get wow thank you
Are there any monitors that you would recommend for competitive gaming at this price point? I was looking at this monitor but knew the specs were too good to be true.
If you don’t know what monitor you need for your ‘usage’ then trust me that this display is more than enough for your competitiveness.
Good review. I only wish you could of recommended a better monitor for about the same price. Something like "The best monitor for less than $350 " I already bought the monitor but its still in the box because im waiting for my ps5 to get here. Im coming from a 4k 50 inch tv so im guessing most monitors are an upgrade.
Thank you so much, you helped me alot! :)
Thanks for the great review. I'm still on the fence whether to stick with my Samsung 4K 60Hz with the XBox Series X or switch to this. Although it's only 2K, it's curved, 144Hz and has HDR10 which my Samsung 4K monitor doesn't.
It actually does 4k I just bought one last night and it was running 4k @ 60 hz
@@derrickbeberniss2022 is it still good for the series x ?
I own this monitor, its perfect for a 1440p 144hz monitor under £200 which I paid on a early Amazon black Friday deal. Also is G-Sync compatible with Display Port cable.
how? the settings only show Free-sync. can u explain please? thanks and if so, how good is the gsync integration?

I'm returning my AOC 32" CQ32G1 because of the intense gosting issue. Watching this as part of a research round into what alternative I should get for 1440p/144Hz. This is clearly not the screen for me.
I bought this a few weeks ago and man I regret it so much, its dark, and that motion blur smearing is very noticeable if you play fast paced games as Bijan mentioned. I ultimatley returned it and put my BenQ montior back in place and realized HOW FUCKING GOOD BENq monitors are.
Question to people, who bought this monitor and have nvidia graphic card. Does amd freesync works good with nvidia gpus? I've heard, it can cause some problems like flickering
This one isn't officially supported but you can still enable G sync on it. It just gives you a warning that it's not a supported monitor.
Hey man, really nice videos. Which one would you pick between the g5 and the Gigabyte G32QC?
It's probably goood but you rich bois expect the best.
It’s brilliant for games having 120 fps is really useful I’m happy with the gaming side of it but when I’m watching stuff it’s really pixelated I don’t know if I have bad settings tho
I only payed $276 for it. Incredible price when on discount.
I play games like
CSGO - FIFA 21 - R6 - COD
I am confused about the Samsung Odyssey G5 2K 144HZ
Or ASUS TUF VG27VQ 27 "FHD (VA) 165Hz FreeSync Curved Gaming
Or Asus TUF VG279Q1A 27 "IPS Full HD 1ms 165Hz G-Sync & FreeSync
What do you think ??
I’d go for Odyssey.
Ultimately, wit those options you’ve got lined up, pick your poison.
Can you do top 3 monitors for each resolution you have reviewed?
I have a question: if I lower the refresh rate, let's say around 60hz, do I remove the ghosting?
just ordered mine from bestbuy today, got it on sale for 229.99, lucky me. Thanks for the review.
Me too!

@Billy Mays the only thing bad about this is the ghosting as far as I can tell from reviews. It runs 1440p and 144hz and has good color.

Got a g5 months back and to me the picture just looks terrible. How much better is the picture quality on the g7 compared to the g5
Nice with the price its at for the 32 inch how long will take for me to get used to the curve? Just wondering since I have never used a curved display before. :)
Bijan what is the best 240hz IPS (1080P) monitor for gaming?
I have watched all your reviews but all monitors has pros and cons and I don't know which one to pick.
Which monitor did you end up with?
I think I bought the newer version or asia spec version (I'm not sure) of this for roughly $175 on sale, I don't think at that price point I can complain about build quality or design considering the specs it provides. PS. Reason I think its newer version is cause mine came with DP 1.4
Coming from a 1080p 60hz ips panel from 2015, I'm still under the assumption this is a big upgrade, ghosting or not. Is that a safe bet?
Yes massive upgrade.
for 170 considering that we are in 2023, g5 worth? or there is other better options with the same price?
