The spruce sounds so much better! I wasn't convinced about the sound of Lava, but this model may change that! 1 question: Why does it sound so much thinner when plugged in? Doesn't make sense to me.
Spruce sounds better, but all I see on RUclips is reviews of the lava range, nobody seems to actually record with it out of choice, except to review it.
Same thought. I have not seen a video with them unless it was specifically to highlight the guitar. But that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't good. My thoughts are that it's a jack of all trades but master of none. Anyone who really cares about the the sound output has better options with bespoke gear and guitars. But for more casual players it can be useful to have everything in one place.
I think it could be great for learning and great for recording. I think eventually, getting to a traditional acoustic will still be a goal for most players. Longer neck with a cut out would be great.
I agree. The spruce top is better tonally. The plugged-in tones are not as good as the previous models. As always, Dave, a great and informative video.
I think the spruce sounds much better. My main guitar is my taylor 414 ce special v class. Im just wondering if i could be happy with the carbon as my take everywhere guitar. Plus side is I dont have to worry about the carbon. The spruce can still warp.
The spruce guitar sounds really really good! They both do, but the spruce is breathier and has wonderful low end. If I didn't see it I would never know it looks the way it does either. Nice review Dave!
Both guitars have EQ control. The wooden guitar is going to sound more familiar unplugged but with effects, you can fine tune it to sound literally like whatever you want
I don't know how to play the guitar but I'm looking to get this. Based from your video. The spruce sounds better but I like the looks and style of the carbon
Awesome review…love the way you explain and demonstrate ❤ just miss the price aspect and if it is worth spending more or less for what- just guiding light ! Is there any cost to register on the App. How does update work ?
I suck at all thing's tech, so not my cup of tea!, but the tone of the spruce was more pleasing to the ear, also you are giving off some serious Billy Jack vibe 's with that hat Dave[ you young folk google him]
I wanted to love carbon for its practicality and slick design, but have to grudgingly admit, spruce sounded better. I guess this is why after being known mostly for their carbon fiber guitars Lava has decided to reintroduce a classic spruce, they just couldn't tune carbon enough to have a rich natural sound.
The “air hole” placement doesn’t matter. Barely affects the sound. Some guitars have them on the sides, some have multiple sound holes. Literally barely affects anything. It sounds different because it’s made of a different material.
Hi, I am a beginner and I simply do not know what guitar to buy? I found over internet some of the guitars I would like: - Lava Me 4 Spruce - Lava Me pro - Enya Nexg 2 - Enya X4 Pro From your experience, which one could be better for me? I would like to add that I want to use the guitar mostly with headphones …I do not want my neighbours to hear me :-) Thank you!
My biggest question is the difference between the Lava Me 4 Spruce vs the Lava Me 4 Play... in essence the spruce vs the HPL... is there that big a difference? I've scoured RUclips for a head-to-head comparison but can't find one.
I'm waiting for the version with 9 volt battery, ...such a stupid move to use rechargeable batteries, ...yes, they send a link on how to change the battery yourself 😂, ...they mean destroying your guitar🤬
Ugly? I don't think so. Not beautiful, but not hideous. I think the only weird thing about it is the smooth headstock and weird placement of the sound hole. I'm curious, why do you think it's ugly?

@@arthurdurham Good point.
Forverfaithful has done guitar lessons with hers.
What is the sleek pedal you are using 0:55
It’s the pedal you can buy from lava. It’s specifically made for the guitar
Beautifully demonstrated! Good work Dave
Many thanks!

That "like that" sound at 07:02 is super crasy !

How am I supposed to drop a pick in these things?
lol
Hopefully you'll compare the Spruce 41" model too
I personally prefer Yamaha transacoustic guitars or standard guitars with Tonewoodamp installed, if you like acoustic guitars.
Nothing beats mother nature , i love the sounds of the woods

Ooo Taylor 414 is on my wish list :)

I've been wondering if it's possible to get a nice warm kind of jazz tone from the Lava Me 4. I can't find an example in any of the reviews.
Very comprehensive. Thank you for all the details.
So, we're just not going to talk about how amazing that hat is?
Mr. Dave, I'm hoping my parents get me this for Christmas, fingers crossed! 🤞🏻
We need an update after Christmas lol
Excellent Review, especially comparing differences.
I play in Vietnam often and I believe the carbon holds up better with the humidity!
By chance would you know how different the sound is from the Lava Me Pro? Thank you.
Is the LAVA ME 4 Carbon worth it honestly for someone trying to learn how to play music 🎶

beautiful review. Thanks! Why is the lava me 4 carbon more expensive that the spruce?? it’s only for the material???
yes
Hi Guys! Did anyone try to put nylon strings there? To The spruce Guitar .
What about the lava me play? How different is it compared to 4 Carbon ?
I compare the play with the spruce here - ruclips.net/video/qiPsAXAlvOo/видео.html so that might help
Whats the name of the song being played in the intro? It's on the tip of my tongue but can't quite remember it.
At the very start? It is wicked game by Chris Isaak
That’s it! Thanks mate.
Someone please lemme know what was the song that he played using infinite universe effect?
"Wicked Game" by Chris Isaac

Thanks Trevor!
If you can use an iPhone or android phone you’d be fine. It’s an easy touchscreen navigation. Lol
Interesting product for a certain type of player. Good review
Thanks!
whats the first song being played called
"Wicked Game" by Chris Isaac
Lava Me 4 carbon/spruce or Lag Hyvibe?
Easy choice. Yamaha at this price point.
Hey do you have like a referral/discount coupon link? Definitely want to buy it with a discount/support you at the same time!
No referral link unfortunately!
Jigsaw Falling Into Place tutorial pleaseeee
Hello! I love all of your tutorials could you please do scott street by phoebe bridgers? there aren’t many good tutorials out there!

You could get a better plugged sound with the addition of impulse responses
The Spruce one sounds better, yet still is quite twangy? Placement of air hole could be better. I.M.O.

It sounds different because it’s made of a different material.
@@jacobcarrizales427 Sure dude! If you say so! Maybe music us not yor thing?
That's fed through a microphone and amp...
Professional players are switching to carbon fiber. And for very good reasons.

If you have enough money then go for Lava Me 4 Spruce.
It’s a difficult choice
The 4 doesn't come in left handed.
Gimicky
This guitar needs a cutaway design.
Yes I agree and think that’d be awesome if they did especially with all the improv features.
I'm waiting for the version with 9 volt battery, ...such a stupid move to use rechargeable batteries, ...yes, they send a link on how to change the battery yourself 😂, ...they mean destroying your guitar🤬
No thanks
Cool review. Sadly like all things Electric and modern they make things look ugly.
Ugly? I don't think so. Not beautiful, but not hideous. I think the only weird thing about it is the smooth headstock and weird placement of the sound hole.
I'm curious, why do you think it's ugly?
I thought it looked quite nice.
jyzes man, I love your videos so much, but please - no hats indoors. Can't take this product seriously seeing that hat.
You have some kind of dead weird doll as your profile picture giving advice to not wear a hat for fear of not being taken seriosly.........
Wtf ☠️ imagine watching this video and having that thought cross your mind
Yep… Stevie Ray Vaughan wore a hat indoors at his shows, and we just couldn’t take him seriously either….
What a wildly bizarre thing to say….
i like the hat. it is stylish and sly. does it come w the guitar?
