@@janvipatel5479 , I believe that the author of Passerine made a 2nd book, a prequel. It follows the dream team and though I haven’t read it I think that is where that quote comes from because I also cannot recall reading it in the first book.

This is really cool and I like that you decided to focus on Sapnap's bit in the story. Once the story behind why Sapnap acted the way he did was told I felt really bad. He was just a broken man trying to avenge his love.

@@madelaineschneider4903 I don't remember what chapter it was but Sapnap is implied to be the God of War that lost his lovers to Technoblade (the Blood God).
So, the bits of the story refrencing "The War God" are Sapnap :)

passerine as a whole was absolutely gorgeous. The story, the characters, the twists and turns EVERYTHING about it was beautiful, including Sapnap's Tragedy. I haven't looked into it but a part of me really hopes that his story will be touched upon at some point.
Why? Because as many point out, people love a good 'villain'. What Sapnap did from one point of view was the most dastardly thing to happen in history, but from his pov? He was serving true justice for the death of his love, his one treasure in his seemingly neverending lifespan who was stripped away either from crossfire/domino effect or purposely for whatever reason.
Sapnap seen it as righting a wrong by performing another wrong and it was so well done in my opinion. It goes to show that, just because you are effectively immortal by means of ageing, doesn't mean you are immune to the cycle of consequences. Technoblade did many wrongs before and Sapnaps story was just one of probably thousands and of even fewer who would even be able to get close to closure. Be it verbal or violent. And to that end, Sapnap died for it. Well and truly, forever, but now perhaps reunited with his lost lover or caught back into the cycle of repetition in a new life to live over once again.
that's really well thought out. I love how you analyzed his loss deeply and made everyone realize the villain's other side of the story.

I really like this! I never felt much empathy for sapnap cause you know he killed Tommy and then this made me realize the same thing happened to him. Amazing job as always.
the difference is: tommy was a child who hadnt even had the chance to properly live his life
but i agree this animatic definitely made me realise sapnap had a reason, still mad at his character but again, he had a reason

Ye...if techno stopped and ignored the voices and maybe a chance that techno still meets philza's family then this war could've been avoided and tommy wouldnt die, philza wouldnt have to make a sacrifice.
But if it wasnt for tommy dying...techno, wilbur, and philza but mostly techno wouldnt have seen the faces of his forgotten family plus, techno and phil would still be immortal since techno didnt give philza thr powers he needed to defeat dream and philza wouldn't have made the sacrifice to trap dream in limbo or something like that, so they would lose their love ones eventually while phil and techno would still be roaming the earth...techno wouldnt be able to feel the join of his story finally closing and the place he wanted to go with his love ones.
Still spoilers...
And since tommy is alive...and maybe philza, techno and wilbur never bothered answering dreams invite...techno and wilbur would still hear voices...and since dream was able to control wilbur to kill techno (if im right cause that part got me confused) they wilbur or techno or both could kill themselves or their family.
And also if tommy didnt die, the war never existed, then maybe theres a chance of tommy meeting tubbo after all. Maybe

Twin gods, the exact opposite, but still, one.
Nick bent down over Karl, bringing his fiance's hand to his lips. He kissed it gently. Karl smiled.
Nick opened his eyes. His first love's eyes were cold, their purple coat splattered in blood. His smile was dead. Nick's tears splashed onto Karl's placid face. Karl wouldn't wake up. He would never wake up. Never.
Nick clenched Karl's hands in his own, breathing shakily. In the battlefield, Nick made a promise.
A promise to Karl, to himself, to his crave for war.
The War God would not rest until the Blood God paid.
And he would, Nick knew.
He knew when he looked across the valley and spotted the pink-haired warrior resting his hand on the boy with eyes of a tundra and hair of gold curls.
That boy would be the payment.
"I'm sorry, kid," Nick mumbled, as the arrows of fire rained forth from the heavens.

it mentioned that for years, eons even, he stayed with him. stayed with him even when he was limp and pulseless, until he was only beautiful to sapnap. Imagine, throughout the entire time, while he was dying, the years he spent next to him, he never let go of his hand. Even when decay started to come, no matter what, he still held his hand as if it would bring him back if he did for long enough.
And imagine when he realised it wont.
It wont bring him back.
That he was gone.
The author of passerine is working on a prologue story about the dream team before the events of passerine. The 1st chapter is out as of now.

I absolutely love seeing a passerine animatic that focuses on Sapnap’s role in the story, it’s a nice change of perspective and really well done
what the frick. I'm actually crying right now you're a god amongst men this was one of my favourite parts of passerine and when there was so little focus on it I was sad but this just made up for everything and then some thank you so much for sharing this with us we do not deserve you so much love to you

Making an animation of Sapnap and Karl falling into the grass and a transition to Sapnap looking to the side and freaking out because he is laying next to Karl's bones and when he tries to touch the skull of Karl it turns into dust and dirt of the battlefield and a final transition of Sapnap waking up and his legs being wrapped in the moss and weeds. When he looks up its Karl laughing at him saying " Come on Sap, if you lay there forever you'll never gonna be able to catch up with me" in the after life ( Or more of the void they have together)

Oh God, I just finished chapter 3 and the part that made me cry was to see the devastation that happened to Tommy and the rage and to see him take it out on Techno and even after being disarmed, fighting on. And then after, to see how Tommy feels guilty and how neither of them were able to be a child... God, the tears stains are a little to fresh for comfort.
