The shooting and the car chase were as if these were today! Béla Lugosy is outstanding, all of the others are brilliant, too! Imagine how difficult and risky is, to make all the artifical accidents and fights! I really kept thinking about the know-how, independently of the seemingly simple robot. But the lamps on the head of it were all lighting! Absolutely funny - and the main point of the experiments wasn't told until the end. Thanks for uploading!!!
I can't believe I'd not seen this before. Not exactly great cinema, but most enjoyable, and great to see Dora Bryan (Tilly), Hattie Jacques (Mrs Jenks), and, especially, Graham Moffatt (The Yokel), and, even more especially, Richard Wattis (P.C. Freddie). (I missed John Le Mesurier -- I must have blinked.)
Amazed at how late in the day this was made. An odd combination of early 20th century music hall, 1930s slapstick, 1930s/40s thriller and Ealing comedy. Mother Riley is the same ilk as George Formby, Arthur Askey, Norman Wisdom and Will Hay; music hall performers turned actor, who were the star that people went to see, expecting a certain kind of performance, which is why it is so weird to 21st century eyes.

This movie was recut and released in the U.S. in 1963, eleven years after it was made, under the title "My Son the Vampire." The American version featured a title song by comedian Allan Sherman.
They talk always about Vampires in this movie, but its not really the topic there, where are the Vampires? Of course the great Bela Lugosi is here a Professor who create a Roboter, Lugosi is a legend, He play the First Dracula in the 30ies very charismatic in Black and white screen, a great movie. He rest in peace. But in this movie here i did not see one Vampire. But ok, good old movie, thankyou.
❤. Very funny! 😂😂😂. Great actors! Thank you . Great classic movie! 😂
This won Best Picture in the Bizarro World.
Bela is king!
"I was always curious why you sleep in your evening clothes?"
"Really? I was buried in them " 😅
Preposterous & full of silly to the end. Mrs. Riley (Arthur) looks like Joe E. Brown & Margaret Hamilton-at the same time! Much fun.👍

Really enjoyed this movie!
Makes sense! A man in drag as Mrs. Riley. Mercy!
Well I Never!😜👍
@@michaelbaughman4017 it is a man impersonating a woman. See through disguise, for disguise is the limit.

Dandy Nichols, the silly moo in Til death us do part.
What about Bela Lugosi?
Fed Ex..getting deliveries wrong since the early days.
bela lagosi was great as Dracula
I enjoyed this, too funny. 😅😅
This reminds me a bit of an extended "MONTY PYTHON" routine. And Hattie Jacques was later a regular in the "CARRY ON" movies.
Loved the Carry On movies... Carry on Cleo with Sid James, Rita Tushingham.....decades ago when I lived in Cambridge.....great memories.
Really enjoyed this one love Mrs rilley films thanks for downloading this brilliant movie

Fantastically funny movie.
Thanks for the upload this is amazing
Bela is the best actor in this movie 😁😍😊
Loved it :)
Really pretty brilliant.
Lately Al of these films tell me about elegance, finesse, bringing a spark of nostalgia from within

What was the song ?
@@johnboys4697 The song is called "My Son, the Vampire." You can find it on RUclips.
a little song, a little dance , a little seltzer in your pants!

"And may the saints sprinkle you with sailors on shore leave. "
Graham Moffatt, Dandy Nichols, John Le Mesurier. Wow.
Now we know why Lugosi did GLEN OR GLENDA , for Ed Wood .
Arthur Lucan as a woman (Mother Riley)
bobquack1 Hilarious with a Music Hall type song and dance.
The original Mrs. Brown?
7:02
I would watch Bela Lugosi in anything, including a ridiculous movie with Mrs. Riley really being a man.
Perfection ❤❤❤
🤣LOL funnnnny how this robot is named after the mid 40s first Mark I electo-mechanical computers.
that was a fun movie

The great Arthur Lucan, sans Kitty McShane, in his last role as Old Mother Riley.

Ian Wilson as Hitchcock, the butler
And a young Hattie Jacques.
That was silly.
I knew this was going to be a good movie when I saw that Dudley Lovell was the camera operator.🙄
In 48 Lou found out Bela was gay and that killed his career

5.5/10 A Awkward little Film with plenty of WTF Moments, though it’s more akin to a Mad Scientist Movie than anything truly Vampiric

They should have kept this movie hidden

It's a musical?!?

Who thinks of making a movie like this, fun but pretty silly and cheap.

COMEDY? REALLY? ARE THESE PEOPLE 4 REAL?
Bella at his finest at comedy. But as far as that author guy goes, I don't know who finds him funny. But it must be a British thing, I guess. 😂😂😂😂😂
