What a refreshingly articulate and positive channel! Even my somewhat sniffy wife was unusually enthused. Keep at it mate! UK watcher here (that also stands for Upcoming Kakotopia). Great to come across a fellow admirer of one of the best bands ever: the church (sic): Yay!!
Thank you so much for your erudite and humorous response! It's very appreciated. Great to run into a fellow fan of the church. I'm going to see them in a week or so, and will report on it when I get my Starfish (the next album in line) review underway. Cheers! 🙏
Nowadays I don‘t listen to „Crown of creation“ that much. It‘s the title track and „Lather“ but that‘s it. I have to admit that it never was an overall favourite like „After bathing at baxter‘s“. But that‘s a personal choice. Most people might chose „Surrealistic pillow“, I guess. But to say that „Volunteers“ is a kind of a one hit wonder is, well, kind of bizarre to me. Even you named a few songs you prefer in live versions. But that‘s not the fact, they are good songs, some of them are even brilliant. „Volunteers“, „Eskimo Blue Day“, „Good Shepherd“, „We can be together“ are at least that. And I didn‘t mention the just good ones 😄 So, we all have our likes and dislikes but still I think „Volunteers“ is a bizarre choice for me, if we like to talk about albums we only keep for one good song. But at least you keep it for „Good Shepherd“ 👍🏼 Love & Peace
@landesart Thank you for your wonderful and insightful comment. Glad you like 'Lather'! No doubt Volunteers is an important album, I think I just have listening fatigue. Love and Peace right back at you. Cheers! 🙏
That Rod Stewart album is not just a song. Also contains: Young Turks, Just Like A Woman, Jealous and Never Give Up On A dream. For me is more than one song.
Rod's Young Turks is one of my favorites of his and kinds of a personal anthem. Saw Rod in concert in Tel Aviv a few years ago - amazing how many beautiful songs he's got in his repertoire. Not to mention the gold sequin suit.
Hi 👋 im viewing from New Zealand. Peter Framptons album Frampton Comes Alive sold hugely. I like the song Baby , I love your Way from it. I like his 1977 single I'm in You. I like the song S, S, S Single Bed by Fox. It was probably one of the only funky songs from 1976. Jokerman is brilliant by Bob Dylan. I lived in Sydney back in 1991 - 2001. I resided in the suburb of Surry Hills. I went out alot on the pub , bar nightclub scene. Australian bands i like are The Easybeats , Skyhooks, Hunters & Collectors who i saw in 1982 here in NZ and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds , who i saw in the 1980s in concert here in NZ too. I'm in my sixties in age.
Thanks for all the insights and thoughts. Must be some great memories there! Like you, I love Hunters & Collectors, especially the first 3 albums. Cheers from Australia! 🙏
Yes, as I mentioned on the vid, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with this album. Love Manic Monday (and His Purpleness) also! Thanks for joining in! 🙏
This video was a lot of fun and even though some of those albums I do like and for me it can be listener's fatigue where maybe I played the album a lot when I first bought it and over time I outgrew it or found other albums from the artist's I like way better this show was all in good fun and I had some chuckles would love to see you do a top ten anticipated and yet disappointing albums show I think it would be good for a fun show
I was around Fripp several times in the eighties he was a real smarty pants and something of a jerk, personally. But i met his wife and she was pretty cool with me.
I have to agree with you on Volunteers, I’ve really tried to get ‘into it’, but Good Shepherd is the only essential track. Sweetheart Like You, S -S- Single bed, 24 hrs with Rod Stewart, I think there’s a playlist waiting to be curated!🎉
Infidels is a Classic Dylan Album TopShelf… Rod Stewart is fantastic, but “Tonight I’m Yours” is awful. I worked in a Record Store back then and that album gave me nightmares!!
Just watched the video, thanks for pointing it out! Still not sure, but Harvey is an incredible player nonetheless. The solo on Flow in Motion reminds me of Mossy’s incendiary playing on the title track of his album, ‘Matchbook’. Not that it matters one way or the other, really, it’s all about the music. Appreciate the contribution! Thanks! 🙏
Come on! The Rooster’s Tonight I’m Yours album spawned a wonderful single that hit # 5 on the US charts…”Young Turks”. THIS song is worth owning the album for. How could a lover of 80’s pop deny the insanely catchy synth riff and monster hooks in the chorus? Did you even listen to the entire album, mate?
@ imho Kate Bush is history’s most talented artist so I’m always interested in whatever is or could be related to her 😊 any plans of reviewing one of her albums. I heard on BBC her talking about an upcoming animated video project she’s been working on.
@godcandy108 She is a breathtaking artist! The two albums I'm considering a review of are Lionheart and Never for Ever, primarily because they are the two I know best. Thanks so much for your comment, it's very appreciated! 🙏
@ any one of these albums would be awesome 🤩 but I recommend that you familiarize yourself with The Kick Inside and then do a progression of this woman’s work 😊 pardon the humor
Paul McCartney and Wings' album, Red Rose Speedway. The outstanding track, Little Lamb Dragonfly and Henry McCullough's sublime guitar solo on My Love. Other than that, the album is pretty dismal.
I think the first album I got that was 1 good song and all the rest crap was Corey Hart "First Offense" (his only ever hit "Sunglasses at Night" being the 1 good one). Fortunately I worked at a record store at the time and had gotten a free promo copy, so no $$$ lost.
The guy had NINE top 40 hits, including the #3 "Never Surrender" so "Sunglasses at Night" was NOT his "only ever hit". Try doing some research before you post here.
popular doesn't mean best. I hardly ever hear Show Me the Way on the radio and if I do I'll probably change the station. But when Feel Like We do comes on I'm reaching to turn up the volume.

Frampton comes alive is far better than Aerosmiths first album. That has Dream On. That's it. The rest is crap. Do you feel like we do is possibly the worst song on that album. There are quite a few good songs on there. Do you feel like we do is self indulgent garbage in comparison.
@@tonystevenson26 Everyone has their own taste I guess. Mama Kin is just idiotic, Walkin the dog should never have been covered by anyone ever. The only worse choice for a cover song on your first album would be dancin in the streets, which was a fine song for little Eva in the 50s, but that's where it should have ended. The other songs mentioned I don't remember at all. Dream on is and will always be a rock classic. One of the best songs ever recorded. It's a lot to stand up to, but something at least close would have been nice. There is a good reason this album was a flop. I wish I had just bought the single.
Framptons album comes alive had more than one good song on it and as far as I’m in you went i heard he was made to put the album out by the record label 😊
