I want to thank you sir for making this video review of the Wharfedale Diamond 225. I recently bought an Emotiva Basx A-100 amplifier to use with my Sennheiser HD650 headphones and decided to get some speakers to go with too. I bought the Wharfedales and was very satisfied with their sound. They are very full bodied and not as harsh on the top end as my Klipsch speakers. As you stated everything sounds good on them. I listen to a lot of rock, pop, Latin, and orchestra music. I bought them based on your video review and other reviews I found online. Thanks again.
Just bought these today, no kidding you are spot on with what this speaker is capable of. Right off the bat without proper placement it already sounds so good. Any songs with piano on it, it isn't harsh, it's all natural like you said!
Thank you for this review! At first I bought these speakers to use them with a kenwood ka-501 amplifier from 1976, and they sounded good, but now I got the pioneer SX-434 from 1974 and they're a match made in heaven!!! They sound amazing! I'll literally probably never upgrade again, I can hear parts of songs I didn't even know were there! I recommend these speakers and those cheap but incredibly high quality vintage pioneer amps to everybody!
I was in a dilemma whether to buy the Diamond 220 or the 225 or the Pioneer FS52. Following up on your advice, dropped the idea of going for the FS52. So it was between the Diamond 220 and 225. At first I auditioned the 220s. They sounded awesome to my ears. I was almost about to grab them when the store manager asked me to also audition the 225s. I wondered if it could get any better. Still hesitatingly I agreed because there is a significant price difference between the two. When he played the 225s, Oh boy! They just knocked my socks off! The sound was so much fuller! Like they say, there is no replacement for displacement. The bigger driver and the bigger overall size of the speaker add oomph and natural warmth to the sound quality. Trust me, unless you audition the 225s, you will not know what you are missing out on, because the 220s themselves sound so good, albeit a bit tiny compared to the 225s. I think the 225s negate the need to upgrade to floorstanders. They are that capable! They can easily fill a large room with great warm sound which will not cause listening fatigue even if you play them for hours at stretch! It was a perfect 'Shut up and take my money' moment! I walked out with the 225s and a big grin on my face. And that grin keeps coming back every time I play them. :-D Buy the 225s eyes closed! x-)
Tharbamar Thanks mate! Hope it helps others here make informed purchase decisions. I cant thank you enough for recommending me the 225s. Just love your demos. :-D
I am thinking of upgrading my system. Currently have BS22 from Pioneer. I have auditioned ELAC B6 and Uni-fi as well as B&W 685 S2. B&W were decent sounding but B6 were overpowering. B6 have that boom and warmth while Uni-fi are more sweet sounding at mid range with very controlled bass. Definitely Uni-Fi sound much musical compared to B6 but would lack that oomph and dynamic "taking the soil underneath your feets" factor. The downside I have read about uni-fi despite of having concentric drivers + 3 way, is their low sensitivity which is stopping me to go for them, as I have an entry level yamaha RX475. After reading your review, I have to go and give Wharfedale a try. I have been tempting for Diamond 225s or 230...
do you know how do they 225 or any of these mid price range speakers (b6 oe uni-fi) sound with yamaha rx475 or 479? or for that matter with any of entry level avr?
Watching this now with my wharfedale diamond 225. So last month i'm only watching this with my earphones. Thanks to your review now I'm using diamond 225 to watch this again hahaha.
Thank you for posting these reviews with honesty , I am in this hobby too, finds your observations similar to mine , i see many other reviewers saying things which are totally off, seems as if they are shilling for the manufacturer . Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much for this review, I bought the 220 version and the sound is fantastic for both music and movies. You can place right up to a wall thanks to the down firing bass port. Due to my setup I have to have my speakers close to the front wall, I had Qacuostics 3020 but they never sounded right in my room so sold and got the 220 and it’s night and day comparison. These are the best speakers I have ever owned and I have had budget models from, KEF, Qacuostics, B&W, Cambridge Audio over the years
Brother, you speak the truth! Got the 225 with marantz pm5005 and damn when i auditioned these speakers. Its so musical and easy to listen to that i got my credit card out and said “SOLD”. Even if the new wharfedales were about to be released, i just got them. Thats how good these are... ill be happy listening to these for years to come.
Also i think the best affordable speakers are : Wharfedale Diamond 11 series , EVO series and Elysian series designed by Peter Comeau. They sound and look like speakers that cost 3 or 4 times more , they are unique and very good built. i have spoken !
Your reviews of the Diamond 225 were useful. I just purchased these speakers for $299.00 on Amazon, sent to them straight to GR Research for Danny Richie to evaluate for a crossover upgrade. I think it will be a fun next level little project.
I just dealt with Wharfedale support: Let me confidently say I would never purchase a pair again. They use 3rd party support and it's terrible. God help you if someone named Nicki Chesser has to help you, you're proper screwed. Sorry, great video, just want to warn other people that if these break you will not get help fixing them.
FWIW I love my wharfedale's after I was able to re-glue the cone/spider that was coming off. International Audio Group should consider a website where people can securely enter their information instead of through email. Sorry for any confusion.
Hello Tharbamar, would you consider wharfedale diamond 225 forgiving with poor recordings?? And also do they have a dark sound signature? Thank you very much.
Just ordered a full setup for H/T & Music including the Daimond 225 (Fronts), 220C (Center) and 210 (Rears). Can't wait to get everything set up! Subwoofer next.
Hey, I bought the diamond 220 at first and they are stunning bookshelves, well finished, good bass, detailed large sceene... but the 225 OMG, they are just like you described, deep, smooth etc and in very good finish... a bargain for this price; just love my Wharfedales !
What is best for 70s and 80s rock, pop, and light metal? 225's or Denton 80s or Denton 85s? Heard Denton 85's are similar to Lintons, but smaller obviously in all ways? I have Diamond 220 ... but find them lacking mids with slightly bright top end, and want to upgrade. What is my best choice? Thanks for some great videos!
I have seen all the videos and I like them a lot. I will give a suggestion to Mr Tharbamar in the future will include the song Grace Mahya -Mona Lisa in the next speaker tests. Grace Mahya - Mona Lisa has a voice rich in detail for the listener to do justice to her speaker tests. Congratulations for the quality videos.
I just purchased the Wharfedale Denton 80th Anniversary speakers. I'm breaking them in right now, but after about 6 hours they began to open up. What you said about the Diamond 225 letting you just listen to the music I would also say that about the Dentons. They are $500.
I'm really not comparing it to these particular speakers. I'm just commenting on this gentleman"s review video and his impressions of the Wharfedale 225. Since my comment I have decided to return the Denton's due to fit and finish issues.
OK. I'm a perfectionist. When I purchase something like a speaker, especially a new speaker I expect it to be perfect. The Denton is an 80th Anniversary issue. It is supposed to represent the companies dedication to the art of sound. The sound was impressive. But the fit and finish was not. Inside of the speaker grill was amateurish and so was the workmanship. Upon inspection of the speaker cone I found that the speakers did not match. There was more glue applied to the dust cap on one than the other etc. I like uniformity. The speakers did not exhibit that. Little things bug me. The things that companies do to save money drive me nuts. I would rather pay extra for quality than be dissatisfied. If the things I described don't matter to you, then I would recommend that you buy these speakers. For they do sound incredible. The woodwork is very good. By the way, if you buy them, peel of the made in china stickers. Cheers. Edit. It takes about 6 hours of play time for them to open up.
Hi - I’m currently using Elac 2.0 b62s via the yamaha as-501 amp. Has a lot of power which I like, but I’m looking for something with power (I like to listen louder) warmer soundstage, nice bass response that doesn’t fatigue. Would the 225’s be a good choice ? Thanks!!
Thar babar, thanks for your review of this D225 I ordered one today, I trust your Word...hope you can make a full review of the Denton 80th anniversary edition...we'll for that...Thank you & GOD bless
I just bought these on saturday, I am very happy with my purchase everything you said in your video is accurate. They can handle many different types of music and sound great. First speakers i have owned and I have no complaints about them. I highly recommend these. I also enjoy all your video's on these speakers as well, thank you.
This speakers is amazing, im using it with my IOTAVX SA40, PA40, Eversolo DMP A8, Holo Audio cyan 2, and sounds amazing compare to my other expensive speakers.
Hi Tharbamar. Thank you for your interesting reviews. I have two questions. First, which amp/av receiver brands would you consider to pair these speakers with? I hear different brands have different sound signatures. And second and last, how do these compare with the new model the D 11.2? Thanks for your time and cheers!
Tharbamar Thank you so much for you in depth review for these speakers. I'm looking for an upgrade from my Q acoustics 2020i's- would you say that thes Wahrefedales would be a worthy upgrade ?
Thank you Tharbamar for the great review.I bought WF225 before two weeks and since then I am in a acoustic nirvana.Just like you said, sweet, mellow.non fatigue sound.Every time I hear the wf 225 I have a big smile.Very natural sound.Thiking to buy second pair for another room!!! I also have audition monitor audio bronze and dali zensor 3 and paradigm titan monitor v6 (harsh high frequencies for my ears) produced ear fatigue.Mine wf 225s are pair with Yamaha a-s 701 (perfect combination).Very deep bass response.I'm so happy because at 2014 I bought for my car, focal speakers 130CA1-690CA1 and was a Big Mistake.....mid's and high's very shrill and no heavy bass.
Hello, first things first, thanks for this and all the other 225 related videos. I really enjoyed it. Since Wharfedale have recently released diamond 11 series of speakers, and 11.2 are kind of new incarnation of these diamond 225, I would like to ask if you plan to review these as well any time soon... ?
I bought the diamond 225 because of your review and the one from stereophile, i had Dynaudio emit m10 i found to be to bright ish playing loud, i found the diamond 220 to dark sound end not enough bass, so when the Diamond 225 was for sale with a big discount i bought a pair and they sound good, stererophile say they sound better with the covers, grills off
Tharbamar, you have my attention with these! I've got 'speaker fever' once again, and I want to get a pair of Wharfedales, based on all the great things i've heard about them. What is the difference between the 225's and the 220's? And what sonic differences exist between these and the Denton 80th anniversary edition? Thank you.
Hello mister Tharbamar ! I whant to buy these beauty's, but first of all i whant to ask you someting : If necesary, they get loud enough ?I mean .... > 100 decibels /1 metre ?I have an 24 mp dining room ! They fill ok the room in these space or what i need is standfloor speakers? Have enough bass extension ? I read many reviews about these speakers and i thinck is good enough for me ! Gratings from Romania, and keep up the good work ! Respect !
thanks for your review and providing links to the equipment, one thing I did not see was a link or name of the stands, for bookshelf speakers a good quality stand can make a difference , if you can add that it would be appreciated! Thanks for all the sound demos , really enjoy your channel.
Thanks for the reply and fir you taking time to do these videos, they are awesome , at times I just used them just to listen to my own system , glad you started given us reviews also, thanks !
Hello,I was wondering that between Wharfdale 225 and KEF Q350 which would have more detailed sound? I can complement the low end of a speaker with a subwoofer but it bugs me to end when I cannot hear a background instrument with any speaker. I recently listened to ELAC 6.2 and I was frustrated that I could not hear sound ofbackground guitar that I can hear in my cheap speakers that came with my Denon D-M40.So I would appreciated any opinion between Wharfdale 225 and KEF Q350 speakers as regards to ability to reproduce details of the instruments being played. Thanks.
hello Tharbamar I'm considering kef ls50 or Blumenstein Triton 8 for my 2 ch bookshelf speakers. have you heard of the Tritons. I know your reference speakers are the kefs. thanks.
I have not heard Triton 8 speakers yet but if you choose LS50s you're getting one of the masterpiece that going into HiFi hall of fame, also best of the best speaker cabinet that you can get today without paying ultra high price, thanks
Hi Tharbamar. Wharfedale says that you can put the speaker 50mm from your wall because they are downported. You say if you put it near wall the soundstage collapse. So it is better to find another speaker (frontported) for use on a bookself? Thanks.
man so happy i discovered your channel! now i need to make a decision between the diamond 225 and the klipsch rp-160m. they are around the same price here in germany. maybe you can help? music is mostly rock and little bit jazz. thanks :-)
Tharambar, I have a quick question about these speakers since I've narrowed it down to the Klipsch 160m vs wharfedales 225. I know the 225 sound incredible with music, but since I play movies/games 50% as well, will the 225 sound as good on these mediums? or would you recommend the 160m for overall music, movies, and games? thank you very much and I will eagerly await for your reply Samuel
Curious did you hear a difference between the speakers with the Tweeter Grill on and the Tweeter Grill off? I've heard the tweeter grills can cause some interference.
You should try with the Tweeter Grills on and off to see if you notice a difference. When AV Land UK reviewed the equivalent in the previous 100 series version, they said the Tweeter Grills made a huge negative difference. I would be an important point to know. Personally, It wouldn't matter to me, these are great music speakers. I'd just play with the Tweeter Grills off.
hello, I like your reviews. I watched your review on the klipsch rm 160 and these WD Diamond 225. The Klipsch just dropped on Amazon to $430 and the Diamond 225 are about $380. Which one would you use for a 50/50 movie/music application? How does the bass compare? I like strong tight bass for my music. thanks. and again nice reviews!!!
+Willee P Personally preferred Diamond 225 for my taste because tonally Warfedale is richer but Klipsch have a little better bass response and more dynamic sounding speakers.
@tharbamar, what do you think about an AV Receiver pushing those? I´m thinking about on buying the Yamaha RX-V679BL and a pair of Diamond 225 to start building my system. I'll use mainly for movies. 70% movies and TV Series / 30% for music. As I said, I'm start to build my system, so I don't have any amp or anything else.
+Vinicius Rodrigues 225 will match well neutral sounding Yamaha amps but power rating is base on 2 channel only, I'm not sure how they gonna sound with multi channel set up.
FYI . I did some test on the JBL530 yesterday. To be honest. They are more engaging than my AA RAAL towers. I am really thinking I like Bookshelves with a sub better than towers. So now maybe I am looking for the ultimate Book Shelf. Is it the KEF LS50? Is this one close? The 530's are fantastic but I would like a little more separation in instruments. Maybe with some time they will get better.
You may want to gives them more time to loosen up, yes 2 way speakers will be a little less musical separation compare to good tower speakers but it may improved after more playing time, LS50 is my ultimate bookshelf speakers for a while now but I will be trying JBL 530 soon enough to find out, thanks
I am thinking of buying the 220, but i really don't know much about sound. My question is, how do i connect them to my PC? As far a i've seen they don't have a 3.5mm jack or a USB port so i really have no idea how they connect. Are there any wires included with the speakers?
Tharbamar? I just bought a Yamaha AS301 Amplifier am debating to get either the wharfedale 225 or monitor audio bronze 2.What do you think I'd the best speaker for the Yamaha Amplifier the 225 or bronze 2? Thanks.
+wirralchap In my past experience with Yamaha amps, they're one of the most neutral sounding amps. I would definitely pair them with Diamond 225 speakers for more balanced sound and musicality, thanks
i like the way these 225's are built. Have you seen the inside of these? The baffle looks like over one inch thick. And the other walls of the speaker look impressive as well with their "sandwich" look of two materials. The drivers look like they mean business. This speaker may be made in china but what matters most is the sound. I am quite impressed by just the way they look.
Hi Tharbamar, have a small listening space, abt 12x 15 feet, current speakers are the Pioneer SP52 towers, will the Diamond 225 be an upgrade to the Pioneers? Thanks for the suggestions..
My speakers are 5.5" apart, 2" away from the wall, seated position is 7" away with a wall right behind me. (Condo living). Would you recommend the 220 or 225?
Thank you for this video. I almost ready to sell my 225 to replace it with a floorstander. Does the diamond 240 similar to this one? I play 60% movies and 40% music. Thanks
Hi Tharbamar I am planning to buy these but need your help & advise in this can you tell me what's the height of the speaker stand you are using so I can build one for me . Thanks J
Hi. How would you rate these against the ELAC Debut 2.0 b6? They get raving reviews but are at a different price point. Which one would you consider the better overall speaker? Thanks for your thoughts...
dear Tharmamar this is a question from thailand I have seen your great video alot. and i have some question to ask you that i have NAD D3020 digital amplifier and iwould like to ask you that what speaker that i should pick between wharfedale diamon 225. elac b5 .pioneer bs22LR would you please tell me that what are the different between those speaker thank for your kindness
+Ko Krisda I like all three speakers from your list and I still have Pioneer BS22LR speakers. It's easy choice because I would choose Diamond 225 for better bass performance and overall sound quality. Thanks
I think you answered it the other way round, bass of the 225s vs the bass of the B6's and sound quality of the 225's vs the ls50's is what i'm asking...thanks
I want to thank you sir for making this video review of the Wharfedale Diamond 225. the bass port is down firing it can deliver sound efficiently. w/out the farting sound on the ports..

Thanks for reveiw, you have most honest and golden ears to reveiw speakers .
Thanks for taking a position and validating it with clear reasons.
+maximo90019 you're welcome.
Watching this now with my wharfedale diamond 225. So last month i'm only watching this with my earphones. Thanks to your review now I'm using diamond 225 to watch this again hahaha.
Have these. Very happy with them for a small to medium room. Great sound for 450 bucks. Buy them, you will not be disappointed.
What about bass?
Thank you for posting these reviews with honesty , I am in this hobby too, finds your observations similar to mine , i see many other reviewers saying things which are totally off, seems as if they are shilling for the manufacturer . Keep up the good work.
Great review. You hit upon all of the key points I care about. Thanks!
Put the playback speed on 1.25 for this one
Thanks, that improved things considerably!
1.5 is needed here

Jayakrishnan .k its the pm 5005. I have a separate dac.
just bought these! thanks for the review so much, they sound like a dream for just $500!
Great choice, enjoy!

Also i think the best affordable speakers are : Wharfedale Diamond 11 series , EVO series and Elysian series designed by Peter Comeau. They sound and look like speakers that cost 3 or 4 times more , they are unique and very good built. i have spoken !
I bought them! Paired it with a Marantz PM6005. It's being shipped still but I can't wait. Thanks for you reviews!
+Zimba's Doom Corner Good choice.
i have one paired with an Onkyo TX-8250 and i love it. i have Bi-wired it using Quantum Ikarus 12AWG OFC wire. fantastic.

+MrKnifeFanatic No problem, enjoy!
Tharbamar, please review wharfedale diamond 11 series speakers......
The hardest speaker comparison, to me, is comparing them to their brother and sister Wharfdale's. Reva 2 for example.
Hello Tharbamar, would you consider wharfedale diamond 225 forgiving with poor recordings?? And also do they have a dark sound signature? Thank you very much.

I like Denton 80th and D225 personally, Thanks
@@Tharbamar Thanks, what is the difference between them and which is better for rock music?
Great review as always! I use 220 with KEF KUBE-1. Sounds good at low level need to get a decent amp for more. Right now running on Onkyo TX-SR508
Thank you.
I have seen all the videos and I like them a lot. I will give a suggestion to Mr

Hi, 225 is good but can’t handle a lot of power, may be you should check out towers from same series for better power handling, thanks
Thar babar, thanks for your review of this D225 I ordered one today, I trust your Word...hope you can make a full review of the Denton 80th anniversary edition...we'll for that...Thank you & GOD bless
+Christian Marlon Cortazar I think you will like them.
Curious how you feel about the soundstage of these speakers.
Appreciate your videos
Hello, how would you compare these to the Bronze 2's? Thanks. Great review btw.
+themachine1779 These are better speakers for me.
thank you
Can anyone tell me if these have extended treble, airy sound?? rather, is the top end rounded off.. thanks
Nope they do not, top end is a bit rolled off. Get JBL Studio 530 if you like nice airier top end.
@@Tharbamar Thank you!!!
I just bought these on saturday, I am very happy with my purchase everything you said in your video is accurate. They can handle many different types of music and sound great. First speakers i have owned and I have no complaints about them. I highly recommend these. I also enjoy all your video's on these speakers as well, thank you.
Great choice, I really like 225s my self and you're welcome!
Marantz, Denon or Yamaha will sound great with these, Thanks
@@Tharbamar Thank you so much for the info. About the D 11.2?
Have you hear the 11 series? How do these compare?
I have not.
Tharbamar Thank you so much for you in depth review for these speakers.
I'm looking for an upgrade from my Q acoustics 2020i's- would you say that thes Wahrefedales would be a worthy upgrade ?
Definitely Yes, you will enjoy fuller, richer sound with 225s, thanks
Thank you for the great review! Would the Onkyo 9010 be a good amp for these speakers?
What about bass?
Have you heard the KEF Q300 yet? They are on sale for $400 this month from KEF direct. I'm considering the 225 or the Q300
+Ram Bam I have to heard them yet.
Hello,
first things first, thanks for this and all the other 225 related videos. I really enjoyed it.
Since Wharfedale have recently released diamond 11 series of speakers, and 11.2 are kind of new incarnation of these diamond 225, I would like to ask if you plan to review these as well any time soon... ?
up on this questioin... hope you can do a review on the 11.2's as well
+1
$349 @Crutchfield. Get them now!
$299 as of January 2020!
Thank you.
+AudiophileTubes 225 will gives you better lower end response, I have no idea about Dentons. Thanks
AudiophileTubes Besides lower end response, is there anything that will make D225's better than D220's?
hi, by the way what is the best minimum distance of these speakers you recommend behind to the.wall. thanks for this review.
Hi, I'm using B&W STAV-24 Speaker Stands in this video, these are out of production thats why I didn't include the link, thanks
Thanks for the reply and fir you taking time to do these videos, they are awesome , at times I just used them just to listen to my own system , glad you started given us reviews also, thanks !
Can u tell continuous power handling of this bookshelf 220 & 225.?
Good review! Do you think that Onkyo A-9010 will fit good with these or you recommend another receiver ?
+Tiago Rolo Lopes It should be fine driving with A-9010, thanks
Hello,I was wondering that between Wharfdale 225 and KEF Q350 which would have more detailed sound? I can complement the low end of a speaker with a subwoofer but it bugs me to end when I cannot hear a background instrument with any speaker. I recently listened to ELAC 6.2 and I was frustrated that I could not hear sound ofbackground guitar that I can hear in my cheap speakers that came with my Denon D-M40.So I would appreciated any opinion between Wharfdale 225 and KEF Q350 speakers as regards to ability to reproduce details of the instruments being played. Thanks.
These or the svs ultra bookshelf?
This one or the Polk Audio S15?
Same question here. The Polk Audio S15's are on sale now for $115 a pair at Best Buy, Amazon, B & H Photo. Smoking deal.
hello Tharbamar I'm considering kef ls50 or Blumenstein Triton 8 for my 2 ch bookshelf speakers. have you heard of the Tritons. I know your reference speakers are the kefs. thanks.
I have not heard Triton 8 speakers yet but if you choose LS50s you're getting one of the masterpiece that going into HiFi hall of fame, also best of the best speaker cabinet that you can get today without paying ultra high price, thanks
Hi Tharbamar, which speakers would you suggest, Evo4.1 or this 225.
Hi Tharbamar. Wharfedale says that you can put the speaker 50mm from your wall because they are downported. You say if you put it near wall the soundstage collapse. So it is better to find another speaker (frontported) for use on a bookself? Thanks.
Please can you tell me your opinion? This or elac unifi ?
Hi do you what type of capacitors are used in these speakers?
Thanks
+shenlonco i have no idea, thanks
Tharbamar thanks for replying, are you ever going to review the new emotiva airmotive B1 speakers?
Would these speakers be for home theater as well as music
Yeah, love how they sound with movies, plenty of low frequencies, no need in an extra subwoofer
man so happy i discovered your channel! now i need to make a decision between the diamond 225 and the klipsch rp-160m. they are around the same price here in germany. maybe you can help? music is mostly rock and little bit jazz. thanks :-)
TheVegas2100 I’m trying to decide between these two speakers I would be curious what you landed on and your thoughts
Kauf fir lieber was von orbid sound
Do these come close to the quality of the SVS Ultra bookshelves for half the price?
Tharambar, I have a quick question about these speakers since I've narrowed it down to the Klipsch 160m vs wharfedales 225. I know the 225 sound incredible with music, but since I play movies/games 50% as well, will the 225 sound as good on these mediums? or would you recommend the 160m for overall music, movies, and games?
thank you very much and I will eagerly await for your reply
Samuel
+Samuel Lee in my opinion RP160m will be more dynamic sounding with movies and games, thanks
Curious did you hear a difference between the speakers with the Tweeter Grill on and the Tweeter Grill off? I've heard the tweeter grills can cause some interference.
Hi, I did not try with the grills, thanks
You should try with the Tweeter Grills on and off to see if you notice a
difference. When AV Land UK reviewed the equivalent in the previous 100
series version, they said the Tweeter Grills made a huge negative
difference. I would be an important point to know. Personally, It
wouldn't matter to me, these are great music speakers. I'd just play
with the Tweeter Grills off.
Hi,they cost only £249 in Scotland, thats so cheap,i see 4 inputs ont the back, can we use only 2 or must be all 4?????
hello, Reva 2 or Diamond 225??? wich one do you prefer for "modern" music?
hello, I like your reviews.
How does this compare to the JBL 530 and Q Acoustics 3020?
Please review Concept 20 speakers
@tharbamar, what do you think about an AV Receiver pushing those? I´m thinking about on buying the Yamaha RX-V679BL and a pair of Diamond 225 to start building my system. I'll use mainly for movies. 70% movies and TV Series / 30% for music. As I said, I'm start to build my system, so I don't have any amp or anything else.
+Vinicius Rodrigues 225 will match well neutral sounding Yamaha amps but power rating is base on 2 channel only, I'm not sure how they gonna sound with multi channel set up.
tied between these and the Qacoustics 3020i
I was thinking to hook theese up as surround speakers ?
+Kirk Hammett It would be fine.
Thank you for the review. Which receiver would you recommend with these speakers? Yamaha RX-V481 or Marantz 1506?
To be honest, I'm not familiar with them, thanks
Ok. Also, if you were only going for a 2.1 stereo setup (with or without a subwoofer), would you go for the Wharfedale 225's or the Pioneer FS52's?
+Star-G You'll need a amplifier to connect between speakers and computer.
Star-G best affordable amplifier is the smsl q5 pro.
+jogmas12 Better built quality than many other speakers in the price range.
Hi Tharbamar, have a small listening space, abt 12x 15 feet, current speakers are the Pioneer SP52 towers, will the Diamond 225 be an upgrade to the Pioneers? Thanks for the suggestions..
+Randhir Gokul Das it won't be much of upgrading but Diamond 225 will produce better stereo image.
Tharbamar Thanks for the revert
My speakers are 5.5" apart, 2" away from the wall, seated position is 7" away with a wall right behind me. (Condo living). Would you recommend the 220 or 225?
Feet, not inches
Definitely go with 225.
Does anyone know how the Diamond 220/225 compare to the Dali Zensor, Dali Spektor or Acoustig Energy Ae101? Regards.
Hi, How close to the 225's get to the Kef LS50 and the Kef R300? at a fraction of the cost? Thanks!
Thank you for this video. I almost ready to sell my 225 to replace it with a floorstander. Does the diamond 240 similar to this one? I play 60% movies and 40% music. Thanks
Similar sound with more bass.
Thanks, thinking of selling my 225 for klipsch rp160m. I usually used it for movies. Do you recommend it?
Is that a dome tweeter or a cone tweeter?
1" soft dome tweeter, thanks
Hi Tharbamar I am planning to buy these but need your help & advise in this can you tell me what's the height of the speaker stand you are using so I can build one for me . Thanks J
+Prasad Hlyalkar Hi, I'm using B'W SRAV24 Stands with Diamond 225 Speakers, total height is 25" from the floor to top plate including the spikes.
thanks J
How do these compare against the SVS Ultras that you tested?
+D Montes Ultra is clean dynamic sounding very good speakers but for me I like D225 for easy to listen and musically more evolving for me.
Aside from price, how does it compare with the Elac B6? They seem to have comparable specs. What would be your preference?
+Froilan Duclayan I like Diamond 225 speakers more than ELAC B6, these are true music lover speakers.
How about with the JBL 230's? I know you also have auditioned this.
Froilan Duclayan I liked JBL 530 as well but I did not like them when playing loud like 85db+ loudness because they get pretty bright, thanks
Hi. How would you rate these against the ELAC Debut 2.0 b6? They get raving reviews but are at a different price point. Which one would you consider the better overall speaker? Thanks for your thoughts...
I would choose Diamond 225s over B6 series for me.
Tharbamar b6 or b6.2? I specially meant the 2.0 range, not the original debut range...
dear Tharmamar this is a question from thailand I have seen your great video alot. and i have some question to ask you that i have NAD D3020 digital amplifier and iwould like to ask you that what speaker that i should pick between wharfedale diamon 225. elac b5 .pioneer bs22LR would you please tell me that what are the different between those speaker thank for your kindness
+Ko Krisda I like all three speakers from your list and I still have Pioneer BS22LR speakers.
It's easy choice because I would choose Diamond 225 for better bass performance and overall sound quality. Thanks
Which would you commander for limited space listening? These or svs ultra (price difference aside)?
How is this compare to dali zensor 3 overall?
Is the 225 good for fronts in a ht set up? Which is better the 220 or 225 for a yamaha avr
How does the bass compare to the Elac B6 and how does it compare to the Ls50's overall?
+The Opinionator Bass is deeper but less define in comparison to LS50.
I like D225 overall sound quality more than ELAC B6, thanks
I think you answered it the other way round, bass of the 225s vs the bass of the B6's and sound quality of the 225's vs the ls50's is what i'm asking...thanks
Hopefully Dynaudio Emit M10 are reviewed
What kind of muzik it plays good???? if they will be good with Rock????
When you say 1-2' from the wall, how do you measure it,is it from the back or front of the speaker??
How would these do with the P5 and P23 from Parasound?I have the Zdac.v2 in my PC setup, and i love it.
+ssuperfly It will sound great!
Thank you.Would you also recommend the A23 for driving floorstanding speakers?
Should be ok because Parasound Demo P5/A23 combination driving ML ESL speakers with full authority.
I'm having issues with imaging on these. Not as good as I'd like. Any tips? I've toe'd them in a bit but still not great
+Zimba's Doom Corner Try to play with the placement.
