Like most others, it seems, I simply hadn't heard his name before, though I don't keep up with modern music really. In fact, I've only heard the name Bruno Mars but didn't really know his stuff. Having heard some snippets of Mars' older stuff, it's not really my thing and I find his voice a bit reedy. But THIS song has been blowing me away ever since I heard it on the radio. Bruno said that Anderson was his inspiration for this album. They toured together along with the Free Nationals. this album was years in the making. The quarantine finally brought them together to finish.
