This is what happens when two perennial musical students pair up. Their tonal quality is almost like a yin and yang. He leans toward more aspirate and she leans toward more chord closure. They also use their vocal fry similarly. But their blend is beautiful. And the play between minor and major chords really tugs at the heartstrings. It also has that brill building wall of sound feel in the production. Literally no other two artists could have pulled this off. This won’t trend on tik tok but it should to teach these kinds on that platform how to construct a perfect pop song.
I am a metalhead. But Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga are major reasons I'm not JUST a metalhead. With Lady Gaga's range and dynamic expression, and Bruno Mars' stylistic experimentation with his music as well as smooth yet powerful vocals, this collab is just a complete masterpiece, and anyone not wanting to listen because it's "not their genre" is really missing out on something great!
