Even before the actual song starts, Rosé says (in Korean) "Chaeyoung's (Rosé's Korean name) favorite random game, random game, game start" which is what is said between the different rounds of the drinking game. Not all lyrics have to be hard hitting or elaborate, sometimes having fun is enough. It seemed to be for Bruno Mars at least, because he wanted to join the song before he even knew what it is about. Everyone glazing Rosé so I might as well Glaze Bruno. He can play drums, guitar, piano, and ukelele. He also produces his own songs. He adds in a dancs break in songs like Perm, Finesse, 24k Magic and Runaway Baby. These are just phenomenal. He's also made countless songs for other people. He made All I ask for Adele, Forget You for Ceelo Green, and Young Wild & Free. Forgot to mention that this song isn't even his best vocal performance as compared to When I Was Your Man (The official audio has nothing else except him and his piano he played live), If I knew, Gorilla, Too Good to say Goodbye, All I ask (The live studio recording on BBC), majority of silk sonic, live btw. I highly recommend checking these out. Good examples of his great collabs where he flexes his vocals are Lighters, Mirror and Please Me. Bruno also has a great amount of variety in his songs. He can make any type of song from Rock (Runaway Baby), Reggae (Show Me), and obviously pop. Not listing all. Proof of him playing Guitar and Singing at the same time is his live studio recording of Locked out of heaven. For Piano, he's played When I was your man on Piano while riffing extremely difficult notes LIVE. And on top of that he's extremely underrated despite his many famous songs like Just the way you are. Even with his amazing vocals, he's fine with not being the lead and letting others take the spotlight like here with Rosé. He could've done so much but he decided to be Rosé's back up because he's so humble. Despite his popularity, people aren't giving him enough credit man!!!
Great analysis from a real expert so I joined the channel! This is so well done, and a great visual layout where the artists image occupies mor space than the reviewers. This song will really wake people up tpo the fact that Rose is a true musician/singer/songwriter of Blackpink. She will be innundated with collab requests from Western artists!
Terrific analysis and breakdown. It's worth noting that Mike Chapman, responsible for multiple 70s-80s hits, was involved in the songwriting. Worth also noting, this is ROSÉ's song, her project, and bringing Bruno in on it was her idea. The major kudos for how it turned out must go to her. Her years of training at YG and recording with Teddy and Blackpink and her natural ear hasn't gone to waste. You can hear her use of layered harmony on her other previous solo work, especially in On The Ground, and with Blackpink.
Glad you added this. I've been surprised to find a lot of the Bruno reactors have no idea who Rose is, which is pretty wild eight years after Blackpink's debut. Blinks know though that Rose lives and breaths music. She's soaked up all the lessons from Teddy and applied them to a song that at least has to harken back to all those pop songs she loved singing in the car when the family was driving someplace. I knew Rocker Rosie was in there someplace but I never expected anything like this. I know it's a huge hit, but it also feels like Rosie has finally blossomed and created something both nostalgic and modern at the same time. I can't imagine what the rest of the songs on the album are going to be like, but we're probably just going to be stunned. Her talent has ripped free of the YG bonds and she's shown us what she's capable of. Just awesome...
I just love the way that you are not only so genuinely excited by the musicality, but how you are able to essentially explain to me in fairly simple terms what it is about that musicality that makes me love this song so much. I knew right from the get-go that I loved this track, it's been on repeat for me since it dropped, but now I have some insight into why that is!
I like your reaction ! You really deep dive into those small details that 99% of us don't every catch, and it really improves our perception of the song in its entire complexity :) Your passion is really communicative and likeable !
I'm glad I found ur reaction man... I've noticed some ppl really like the song but also mention how it's great and "simple" when in fact there's so much detail that bruno had inserted in that u picked out that made this song so much more ez on the ears
You hit the nail on the head on this song in terms of vocals - no noticeable auto tune at all - no robotic like sounds. Real vocals finessed in the studio. Wonderful review. Because the song didn’t have a lot of frills, people think it’s simple. But it’s really not -it’s because it is well-produced, and Bruno and Rosé actually sing that they make it look easy. Thank you for explaining the discipline it takes to create something that sounds ‘simple’. One of Rosé 2 earlier singles released in 2021 - a folksy love song ‘Gone’ was often described as simple - but the beauty of it is in its seeming simplicity. The instrumentation does not have a lot of frills, so you get to focus on her voice which then carries the story and emotion and heartbreak of the song. And by the way, she co-wrote this song too - ruclips.net/video/K9_VFxzCuQ0/видео.htmlfeature=shared

Welcome to Korea's "Golden Voice" Rosie! I'm an American and quickly became a Blink which is what the Fandom of BlackPink the group Rosie is part of. There are 4 just as equally talented ladies who have smashed global records from Guiness to maaannnny countries charts. Rose in particular is aptly called The Golden Voice.I suggest listening to her other 2 solos so far On The Ground and Gone to hear her range and vocal abilities. I don't know if you are planning on trying BlackPink which I highly recommend. (Just check out reviewers numbers.) We show up to reviews for the ladies in droves and we are legion. Supporting our girls, loving seeing them be discovered as well. She and Bruno are at 89 million views as I type and still steadily going. It's the duo I didn't know I needed. Also, also all 4 of the girlies have solos between their BlackPink albums. The world tour was sold out so fast a year or so back that they gave us an encore tour in many cities and even love and appreciate their fans enough for Jennie to rework and make a music video dedicated to us I appreciation.
This song is so damn catchy and I really appreciate as someone who generally just lives in the rock, metal, EDM(weird mix I know), sphere…it’s fun when a pop star comes along and writes music that has something musically genius behind it. See that transition from bridge back to chorus. I love how the bridge was different than how my ear thought it would be as it happened.
You haven’t heard of Rosé before? You’re in for a treat. Sometimes I’m jealous of people who haven’t heard Sea of Hope or her many covers on the Blackpink RUclips channel. Rosé is Korea’s Golden Voice and such a unique talent who is in love with music.
Big BlackPink fan here, and who doesn't love them some Bruno Mars. This collab seemingly came out of nowhere, and I love it! You made me appreciate the song that much more. Loved the analysis!
for reference the song is based on a korean drinking game the "apateu apateu apateu" is the chant you say while playing the game and she conceptualized it with such fun word play with the "meet me at the apateu" (which stands for apartment in english) it's so clever!! thanks for showing her love! this was a really great review super informative on just how excellent this production is💗
Love how you Analyzed the sound and creativity of both artist . This two are so talented and that’s what happened. To me I hear a little 80-90s punkrock, with a touch of ska. And she sang like Gwen Stefani style with Tony Basil (Mikey). I’m really digging it! so Unique !

Even with his amazing vocals, he's fine with not being the lead and letting others take the spotlight like here with Rosé. He could've done so much but he decided to be Rosé's back up because he's so humble. Despite his popularity, people aren't giving him enough credit man!!!
Rosé killed it here tho props to her 🔥
Thank you! He is so talented!
True Bruno fan right here!!
리액션 흥미롭게 잘 보고 갑니다 ^0^
Amazing work dude. You got a new subscriber 🎉
Thank you!
Most analytical reactions yet, LOVE it!!!
You have a great gift for getting people to geek out with you about music. Keep doing what you're doing.
Best reaction of APT. Period.
I like your reaction ! You really deep dive into those small details that 99% of us don't every catch, and it really improves our perception of the song in its entire complexity :) Your passion is really communicative and likeable !
This song makes the world ONE!😊
In parts she reminds me of the Ting Tings singer.
That was the first thing that came through my mind. It reminds of _That's Not My Name_ (2008).
@@neelo821 The video too a little bit I guess as well.
Production has Bruno’s style all over it, sounds a lot like one of his songs, specially around his 2010’s stuff
I'm glad I found ur reaction man... I've noticed some ppl really like the song but also mention how it's great and "simple" when in fact there's so much detail that bruno had inserted in that u picked out that made this song so much more ez on the ears
love your explanation on how you analyzed this great job!!!
Hit song❤❤❤❤

So glad you're enjoying the channel and learning along the way!
Holy crap. This reaction is NEXT LEVEL. Totally subscribing. I learned a lot!! Although I was surprised, given your incredible attention to detail, that you didn’t notice the Breakfast Club dance moves. But you were very distracted by the musical stuff. Really great reaction video!! I actually shared it with some people, and I almost never share reaction videos. 🤷♀️💘🏆
P.S. I know probably everyone is already telling you this, but: please do more Rosé and BLACKPINK analysis. You are gonna love it.
Thanks for watching and enjoying!! And for sharing! I will react to more for sure!

Love it when you get down and nerdy 🤓 Fantastic analysis. 🙌 Time to got check out more from both these artists.
Thanks so much for this great review and breakdown! Here's one of Rosé's other solo hits:
ON THE GROUND (solo) ruclips.net/video/CKZvWhCqx1sF/видео.html
...and PLEASE check out her performances on SEA OF HOPE, a TV show about celebrities who opened a seaside café, they cooked, and performed on the beach for the customers. Rosé was the first special guest on the show, she played guitar and keyboards on a few songs as well:
*THE ONLY EXCEPTION* by Paramore ruclips.net/video/2DUdg4dnse8/видео.html
*READ MY MIND* by the Killers ruclips.net/video/_r92v-T4gSU/видео.html
...and her heartbreaking cover of *TIME SPENT WALKING THROUGH MEMORIES* by Nell (turn on subtitles) ruclips.net/video/mrUU_L-pfRU/видео.html
True, very little production, just raw amazing vocals "Sea Of Hope" sets Rose as one of the best.
welcome to the the Rosé's world mate.. she is incredible
Love the in depth analysis. Keep making videos like this. This is a great reaction/review for a song.
awesome reaction
Might dont know but she born in New Zealand and lived in Australia ,before moved Korea so some of her words like "hearth" are also has Aussie accent which makes her English singing even better.
and for 4:32 , Yes she is a drummer, she can play drums, gitar, piano and even ukulele , she showed before.
Your energy is really enthused
I was waiting for your reaction! Haven't seen too many who's picked up on the production aspect.
Their voices combined soooooo gooooodddddd omggg loved the collab 😍😍😍 And I loved your reaction. Can you react more to Rosé ‘s song?
I think I'm headed down another rabbit hole!
Thank you for your amazing reaction and analysis!! I have very little knowledge about music production /theory /technique. I just listen. So watching you point out many details of the song makes me enjoy listening more and more ☺ (Not just this one, but the other many songs on your reaction channel too!!) Great job as always.
Great analysis. Thank you.
Talented dude.
I genuinely love this song!
Fun song, love it ❤ Rose is fire 🔥 She nailed it ❤ I already preordered her new audio CD releasing Dec-24 😊
The Best review, Period. !!!!!!
She is an Aussie first sorry lol. Her outgoing and friendly attitude are inherent to Australian 😂
I’m really digging it! so Unique !
THANKFUL U REACTED TO ROSÉ WHICH LED TO MY DISCOVERY OF U !! sooo technical so good ! hope u can react to rosé’s album out on dec 6 she worked on all 12 songs
I love this song and keep on listening many many times. You did a good reaction too.
This song reminds me of Tony Basil's Oh Micky it sticks with you all day ....fun collab great vocals, not one I'd play over and over but it's fun!
i read that they actually took the drum line and progression from Hey Mickey and credited the authors on APT. Which is pretty cool!
Great analysis
nice review sir very detailed
APT is Apart(아파트)=Korean Apartment Complex, also Korean famous Drinking game with kiss, dance
game start with 아파트 아파트~ 아파트 아파트~

리뷰 진심이네 이횽님......😂
one of the best reaction
❤❤❤
God this was such a fun reaction, I was wondering why I loved that transition out of the bridge so hearing the theory on that was really really fun
