Floatride midsole is such a resilient compound that even after 500K on my Floatride 3 its still going strong. Kudos to Reebok for making a budget daily trainer that has really high quality and durability.

Thanks for the heads up, Fordy. I'll look into the Float 5 Adventure this summer.

Reebok have really done a good job with these shoes. I had 3pairs of the floatride 3, did plenty of easy recovery miles in those, what a brilliant shoe that was, and currently have a pair of 4's (think i paid only £52) and only done about 120miles in them, so will be a while before I need a new pair, but looking forward to trying the 5 cheers

For some time I was into industrial designs and I must commend Reebok for the design of that shoe.
Some shoes say ''health, sporty, let's go run, I'm happy'' just by their design and this one says all that too, and I personally like that colourway. Very very attractive.

Great review Fordy thank you. Reebok continue to make good running shoes at very affordable prices. Loved my V3’s missed the V4 but will def pick yo the V5 when they get discontinued. For me the Floatride foam has its limitations and it’s not a long run foam , I find it condenses and becomes firmer the further you go and it takes a day or two to rebound if that makes sense 🤷🏼‍♂️ but for a short distance daily trainer it’s hard to beat.

I have the 4 and it's the best value for money shoe. Reebok had 20% off when I got mine. I use mine for miles, tempo work and parkrun where I reduced my PB by over 5 minutes across last year. Grip is top notch on trails and wet surfaces.

When I got back into running in 2020 my first pair of shoes were Floatride 2s. I really liked them, so much so that I followed them up with some Floatride 3s, however I seem to remember paying just over £30 for them! Shoeflation is a bummer.

Hi! Now I'm choosing between 3 pairs of shoes that got big discounts. Supernova 2, Supernova+ and Floatride 5. I'm just a beginner runner and I want to choose my first pair.
After looking at the reviews, it seemed to me that Adidas is aimed at slower but more “plush” running, is that true? Should I, as a beginner, focus on models with stronger shock absorption?
And in general, what do you think about my choice? The price of the models I have chosen is now less than 60 usd....

Bullet proof outsoles is very true, but all round the Energy is very robust. Have just clocked up 500 miles in V3 and the outsole shows hardly any wear, uppers are still in decent condition too. Have just bought V5 and hoping they will last just as well. Has to be the best value daily shoe on the market.

Reebok Canada site has the Floatride 4 on sale for $78 CDN, which is silly. If I didn't have 12 pairs of non-retired shoes atm, I'd probably consider trying a pair.

I was never able to find a Floatride Energy 4 in my size (US 13), as the shoes seem to stop at US 12. I even contacted Reebok support (which was of little to no help), but they could never assist. It will be curious to see if I can find FE 5's in my size. I love the 3's... just a great easy/daily trainer. I've heard fantastic things about the FE4 and FE5, but I've personally not been able to obtain them.

I know this is an old review, but I wonder if Reebok uses different laces. Because one of the main complaints I have heard about this shoe is the laces are either too long or too short. The laces on mine are definitely too short. But you can get them currently for $50AUD so they are amazing bargain.

I have some floatrides dating back to 2016. Still my favourite running shoe for trail+road runs and not been able to retire them. The grips completely worn away now due to all the miles they've done but some elastoplast fabric tape stuck to the soles front and back and they are good to go for a dry day 10k 😂

I use my V4 for anything up to 10k when I’m looking for easy miles so big tick there. Don’t feel the need to get V5 as there’s so many deals around for better shoes - just picked up a pair of Saucony Ride 15 for £49.99 absolute steal.

Hi Fordy, I just bought the Puma Velocity 2 on sale, is it a better shoe than the Floatride??

  • @TolunayOrkun
    @TolunayOrkun Год назад

It is probably still a good shoe, good value but I don't think the foam needed those torsion elements. It would have been better if they had a separate stability version. I still think Version 2 was better and lighter overall (I still have one in almost pristine shape). v4 was the right step in making the shoe lighter. I would take v4 over v5.

Energy X could be considered a max cushion shoe. It has a carbon plate in the forefoot, but shoe is not really a fast shoe. I am using it as a daily trainer as I recover from injury as the heel is wide and stable, absorbing impact well without creating instability to bother my hip.
