Saw Foghat at the LA Coliseum 77/78. Drove my mom's car... she found a joint in the ashtray the next day! Thanks for the memories and great reaction!
Same thing happened to me but in 1975 Good Times
❤️❤️❤️✌️
How funny!
Rookie move! I saw Foghat in 1975 and was exhausted after dancing all night. And my parents didn't find my stash! I drove my mom's Caddy, but cleaned it up!
I saw them around that time at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino, California
63 year old who loves watching your reaction to songs I grew up to….
Neato. I'm 63. Keep on rocking my friend. Texas
Me and my friend al delago saw almost every band. First concert April wine 1973. Wichita falls. Tx. 6 Texas jams Dallas cotton bowl. 2 farm aids 1986 1987 Austin. And 56 concerts so far. Saw Ringo Starr Oklahoma 2023. Had to saw sir Paul Dallas 2002. Texas
68, same here
This song is about nothing more than knockin' boots....hence the fast climax at the end ✌💖☮
That bass line though!!!
Shon, my very first live concert ever, was Styx, Foghat, and Head East. It was great! Thank you for this one.
"Fool for the City" is a great one also.
Man, how can you top that🎶
What a line-up.
Foghat ❤️🤘my best years. Hats off to the 70’s screaming guitars
I was a teenager when this came out.
College 1972-1976 this song is one that made those times unforgettable, great reaction 😅 Peace✌️ and Love❤️ Gary 😊 the 70 year old forever hippie ✌️
brings back memories don't it bro😁
Got to see them at the day of Rock-N-Roll in New Orleans (early 80's). The line up opened with Zebra, then Foghat, Brian Adams and closed with Journey. Best Day ever. The stadium was packed. When Foghat did this song the entire stadium went crazy.
I love all the blues in the old and best rock and roll
Shon, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate watching your reactions. You have a truly honest appreciation of the music so many people (including me) grew up with. Foghat was my first concert. Opening band was Blackfoot. If you haven’t heard of them, please try “Train, train”. It’s one that I really like and I hope you will as well. Keep rockin’ and spreading joy man.
Foghat live album is a must have in any true rockers collection🤘❤️
Classic tune - part of my teenage soundtrack!
I was a Freshman in High School when the Album Fool for the City, with this Song on it, came out and EVERYONE knew what it was about.
They called it Slow Grind….
Even the Girls.
This Song was practically the climax of all their LIVE Shows. Pun intended.
I Saw Foghat in concert 1974......loved it!!!!!
Great reaction, bro!
You just heard one of the greatest lead guitarist in Rock history. His name is Rod Price, who unfortunately passed away in 2005. The singer/guitarist Lonesome Dave (another great guitarist) passed away in 2000. Today only the drummer is still with them, which really makes them a tribute band. The real FOGHAT is Lonesome Dave and Rod Price, as they were the dynamic duo.
Rod Price was one of the great slide rock players ever. Overlooked.
@@grandwazoodebris1015 and he was fast and fluid on standard leads, making him a very diverse guitarist.
Love it! Great reaction. This song still kicks ass!
Rod Price was lead player, slide player. He was a great rock slide player, really great, kind of forgotten and overlooked now.
Best reaction ever ❤
So glad you did this ❤
"I'M IN THE MOOD, THE RHYTHM IS RIGHT!!"
Love this one!
"Dazed and Confused" soundtrack is a whole banger ❣️
I couldn't agree with this more!
*Bro! This, along with many classic 70s bangers, is featured in the great film DAZED AND CONFUSED, which launched the careers of Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, and many others. A perfect representation of 1976. Definitely should watch it!*
Every time this song comes on my mind immediately goes to "PARTY AT THE MOON TOWER!"
Rod Price on slide lead guitar. Very under-rated and a personal favorite, and inspiration for me on guitar.
Thanks for the reaction! Best one I have seen in a while. Brings back memories of when I saw the in concert. Much appreciated!
FOGHAT!! Awesome party/summer song. It's long, but worth it. Great reaction! Thank you.
I remember bumping this in my car as a young teenager. ❤
killer bass line...love it
Another one of my favorite songs ❤, great memories thank you Shon.
Glad you played this version, there's a few different versions.
The live version guitar solos go forever ❤
Real popular song and group in the wonderful 70's.
Back in the day this was our Roller Skating Song! The Roller Rink would play it and All the kids got out on the Rink and skated are asses off! 😂
I love Foghat! Played the record until it wouldn't play when I was younger....We had the best music in my youth...This is one band I didn't see in concert. I went to so many concerts at Day on The Green in Oakland....
Cruise the Blvd on Saturday Nights as we did in the 70s? This song was playing ...❤
It's called break it all down, or walking the dog, done before the last build up and climatic ending. Jus like riding in a car or ......jus saying
Years ago when MTV was still very popular they did awards shows that were really good….1 year Jim Carrey shows up looking like LA Woman era Jim Morrison & at the end of a acceptance speech he says “Would it kill ya to play a little Foghat?!?”…..the next year when he was introduced to hand out an award he came out to this song 😂🤘🏻🖤
This was on the movie soundtrack from "Dazed And Confused". Check that movie out, it's Hilarious" About 1976 highschool graduating class, the same year I graduated and very accurate. Lots of pot smoking and beer drinking and lots of great music in the movie from that time period. Matthew McConaughey made his movie debut in this movie as a stoner. The movies producer wanted him to actually smoke pot in one scene in a car he's driving. He and his buddies roll up to a car so he can hit on a girl. You'll see he was high as a kite. To hear him tell the story is Hilarious!
Peace ❤
Slappin That Bass
Slappin Some Cheeks
Great Song
70’s Classic Rock Just Hits Different 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
❤❤I remember every fair and amusement park, would play this in the background on rides like scrambler!!! SHON...YOU BROUGHT HAPPY TEARS TO MY EYES!! THANK YOU FRIEND.❤❤
Oh the memories!! They read like a teen, coming of age movie! My friends and I would hop into my car. My dad restored cars. So I had a 72 Chevelle SS. And it did exactly what we wanted it to do....catch the attention of all those boys our mommas warned us about while cruising up and down the same strip for hours. This song was part of the soundtrack! Thanks for the memories!
Any time I hear this song I want to watch Dazed and Confused...then again, any song from that soundtrack, yes, I watched it recently; I never get tired of it.
I saw them at a free comcert in the last 2000's. This was their encore and the probably jammed for 10 minute before ending the song. The crowd was on their feet for every second of it and erupted at the end.
'Stone Blue' another good one...
It’s called a break down. they breakin it down!
This song will get you speeding tickets in car !!
They used to play this at the at skating rink. EveryDtone🎉skat Saturday my bff used to Stone Skate skating rink, you could see Stone Mountain off highway.
Got to see them at a local fair around '16, and they still had that heat, even though they were playing to maybe 100 boomers and millennials like me...though not the most complicated band, they've always had the heart and the vibes!
1977 I was 16, Foghat and Eddie money was my 1st concert.
Excellent reaction!!!
Awesome song.I love blasting this one as loud as possible
Won a lot of boogie bounce contests to this song. ❤
Saw fog 2 times. 1981. Lawton Oklahoma in a school gym. 2010 in a bar Wichita falls. Tx. When they played slow ride it was about 25 minutes long. Not complaining. Texas
I lived in North Dakota and they were playing in a bar ,I bought tickets and couldn't go cause I was under age 16 had give my tickets away lol I'm 60 now
You're beginning to understand what's wrong with the neck of every rock n roller that grew up with this music.
Seen them a few times over the years starting back in the 70's and 80's .. Always a great show..!! Hey Brother if you want to see them I have tickets for Sat Aug 31 here in Reno/Sparks In Nevada.
They're Playing outdoors at The Nugget Hotel Casino in Sparks Nevada for "The Best In The West Rib Cookoff". I have front row seats with All You Can Eat Ribs.!! Let me know if you want to go.?! And I'll send you the Info...
GO SHON! ... They say that opportunity only knocks once. So don't assume that it will knock twice.
Thanks for the memories
There aren't many songs that use distortion with slide guitar. Also, it still amazes me how they took that one slide riff
and carried it through the whole song without it sounding repetitious. I partied to this song when it first came out and
I still love to listen to it. A true rock classic!
Classic Groove song!!!
His name is Lonesome David. He’s a beast live. Facts!!!!
Great reaction! Classic tune!!!! 💪🎸🔥
Great band and song! You need to do this song off their foghat live album! Great reaction though! Have a great one shon!
Iconic riff. listen forever.
I live near Hershey Pa and growing up in the 70s this was a song they played on the Himalaya ride at Hersheypark all the time. When I hear it I think of those good old days for sure. Now that ride is called music box or something and moved to different area in the park. In fact when we got older my older sister used to run that ride...lol
Years later in 93 is saw them when I was pregnant with my first daughter. They were with ELO and Kansas
Reminds me of my favorite movie “Dazed and Confused”
FOGHAT - " Fool For The City " Rockin' from start to finish it's so Awesome Audio Version. Also this one " Take It Or Leave It " ft. the Famous Rhodes Electric Piano an absolute 70s Groovy Instruments 🎹 🎸 You'll like these Classic Rock Jams Too. Also check out the next artist in the next Comment by me His Music a blend of Funk & Rock + Saxophone 🎷 it's Amazing too

I'd love to see you react to Never Been Any Reason by Head East and The Cowboy Song by Thin Lizzy. Both are from the same era as this one.
My introduction to this song was from The movie Dazed And Confused. Let me tell ya the soundtrack is full of bangers.
Great song! Check out "Dazed and Confused" and the soundtrack. that movie will take you back!
Ok I see some concert posts. When I was a kid this is what I heard on the radio. Yes, we had radios. And when I hear the name Foghat this is all I know. "Foghat live at the Spokane Coliseum, such and such a date".
This is roll down all the car windows and cruise around on a summer night music.
Definitely need to see it live!
Yea that’s Mr. Rod Price with that controlled chaos you hear at the end dueling his slide guitar Lonesome Dave’s lead vocals. This song on their Live record was played as much as Freebird Live from Lynyrd Skynyrd at the time.
I saw them live in Fresno Ca in 76 or 77. The Fog and green neon when they came on was the bomb 💣 They rocked the house. I can’t remember but I believe they opened for Boston on their first album tour. But I’m not sure it could have been Supertramp they opened for. Either way this band is sooooo underrated. ✌️😎
Oh to be able to hear this for the first time, an absolute favorite.
That pic looks suspiciously like Dean’s “Baby.” ❤😂
Saw them a couple times at West Palm Beach Auditorium back in the day.
This song was inspired after one of Foghat's shows in Lafayette, Louisiana. They were leaving Lafayette headed east and took a stretch of road on the outskirts of the city called Verot School Road, which back then was a two-lane country road that linked Lafayette and Youngsville. Unknown to the tour bus driver, this road is notoriously always backed up with traffic. This forced the bus to toggle between a dead stop and a slow crawl for what seemed like hours, which infuriated all that were on the bus. The chorus was an ode to the attempt to regain composure. I lived in that area and became all too familiar with that road's unique claim to fame!
You have to be kidding! Who made that up? You really don't know? 😂
Yay, do It's Alright Now!! ❤🎉
Check out “Fool for the City”, “Driving Wheel”, “Stone Blue”…
I love that you love this!
Now this is Rock-n-Roll my Man!
Some EXCELLENT guitar work in this tune for sure!
I've listened to Foghat since the mid 1970s.
One of my all time favorite bands as well.
Great job, Shon! 👍👍
Imagine being 16 and the prettiest girl with lip gloss and feathered hair, Ditto jeans sticks her tongue in your mouth and this song and everything else Yeah
Very grateful for the best times on Earth
FOGHAT is awesome. Listen to the song "Chevrolet". Another banger!
Badass
🔥Foghat🔥 was an awesome band in the 70s
You need to react to
"💎HOME IN MY HAND"
"💎I JUST WANT TO MAKE LOVE TO YOU"
"💎STONE BLUE"
💯You need to dang sure do live videos with this band there out there 💯.
✌🏼 OUT
You are so cute. You have a wonderful smile I love it❤
That's the full length version, there was a time i had no idea there was one, i was used to the single which was shortened to about 3:40 minutes so all that extra jammin was out
i think the word you were thinking of was phasing. wow this was *the* song of high school back in the day. glad you reacted to the full version, which is def not a slow ride at the end...start slow and the build up, like...other things. one of the reasons Dazed and Confused is one of my fav flicks...could have been made about my high school
Its getting to the point where i just like before I listen, I already know what time it is.
A very funky hard rock song.
RICK JAMES - " When Love Has Gone " 🎸 FUNK / ROCK & SOUL the BASS & DRUMS Is So Groovin' also a GUITAR SOLO by Rick James is Insane 🔥 and can't leave out the SAXOPHONE through out the song little bit of Synths too. Great Vocals & Lyrics Matches the Creative Music to perfection a 1978 Classic. Many don't know about this Hidden Gem of a song that's why I'm trying to popularize this Incredible Music that should be more well known 🎹 🎷 🎸 💯 Fantastic & Fire 🔥🔥 🔥
The song kept speeding up because the " slow ride " was heading towards climax. Thus, the slow ride shout at the end.
Just a 3 chord jam, but played with serious creatvity, power and slickness. On the part where it's just those " sliding vocals" and drums, I bet the studio guys probably used an echo and a delay, which can 'drag " voices like that. Glad u discovered this rock classic.I knew you'd enjoy!
Foghat digs holes in space.
I'm 61 And a musician. It took me WAY too long to figure out what their name was about! Apparently, I've been wearing a "fog hat" too much! 😉😂 Peace, my brother.
This is definitely a jam
Don't be afraid to play any Foghat Live video's. Foghat is a great live act.
