I love your work but I swear I would keep coming back just for the comic relief. Chipotle napkin was a much better choice than say, one from Chick-fil-A!
This is adorable! Just an FYI, that Waverly chalk paint is just acrylic paint with a chalk finish~ I read this on the label after I purchased it. 😆 But I have used it to great effect on many projects.
Perfect timing! I just finished sanding a sylvanian bedroom set. But I am going to try to make the furniture about 1-1,5 cm higher for the 1/24 scale doll I have, before painting 😊
The color is so fresh! Shyra you just have a way of making my day. Every time you mention cat fur I think about the time you lost a little apron and found it stuck to your cat 😂 xx
This video is very helpful, Thank you! I have a tub full of plastic doll house furniture I bought from a thrift store. I was not sure how to paint it properly but this video gave me lots of good advice which will save me a lot of time 😊🫶🏻
Wonderful! The mix of the wood and painted surfaces really works. I mix dry pigments with paste wax to create color finishes. Idk how water based media would mix. Hopefully you’ll let me know!
This is really a neat idea! And what a great find $! I don't think we have anything like that here. Also I'm not sure if at your Wal Mart, but at ours they are clearance a lot of the larger jars of the Waverly Chalk paints (by I think like 5 dollars off). Just thought in case you need any and your store is you might want to check on it. Thank you for sharing this video
lol That turned out cute. Love how you put everything together including your words. I have never honestly tried the wax part but it looks interesting for sure. You have a great day
I'm using some silvanian furniture in my 1933 doll house so this come's just at the right time. Got very confused with the chipotle napkin but google saved the day you are funny I thought it was some thing I was going to have send a way for.
Wow, fabulous technique! 25¢ well spent. But Lord I hate wrkin w/ chalk paint. U can have mine. I want to throw it as far as i can to teach it a lesson.
@@queencityminis It's thin like watered down paint, goes on super streaky, doesn't crackle w/ wet glue like it's supposed too, costs way too much. Apple barrel acrylic paint & water - same effects, less than 1/3 the Waverly price. (I'm honest huh?)🙂
you are such an artist. rustoleum makes a nice grey aerosol primer as you mentioned if you were to paint w/a brighter color, you'd need more of a base color. q-tips are good for removing excess stuff in tight places. all of which you know but your viewers might not. keep up the fantastic work!
If I use a stain and wipe it off, should that get sealed? I'd like it to have glossy finish, possibly. I just got several pieces from the Dollar 🌳. 3 dressing tables/ credenza, & 2 more. My dad was a carpenter extroirdinare. These will be in his memory, 5 years since... Thanks for helping us!
Thank you ever so much for this diy! Though, I was wondering, don't you need to sand down the plastic a bit to get the paint to stick better? Or is that just an a option?
@@queencityminis Okay! I just wanted to make sure I just bought myself a Sylvanian doll house and furniture and I'm going to try and repaint them. Thank you ever so much again!
I’m here to enjoy your deadpan comedic delivery. You are awesome. 👏
Me too! 😆
I appreciate that!
Thank you!

I totally agree 😆
Tengo 62 años y me hice una casa Silvania para mi decorada y transformada a mi gusto.
👍👏👏👏👏🥰😄💪
That sounds fantastic!
How adorable. Furniture that was super plastic and tacky looking turned out very charming.💚💚💚
Thank you! 🤗
You’re right the white wax really pulls it together. They look great!
It looks a bit bright on camera, but I'm glad you can still appreciate it
I like your videos so much that I wish they were an hour long!
Thank you! I've been keeping the last 3 short bc I'm busy moving, but I'll post longer content soon.

Yes. I've made my own chalk paint in the oast by mixing nonsanded grout and water into acrylic paint.
Perfect timing! I just finished sanding a sylvanian bedroom set. But I am going to try to make the furniture about 1-1,5 cm higher for the 1/24 scale doll I have, before painting 😊
Perfect! The Sylvanian furniture does have interesting proportions. The legs are so short.
The color is so fresh! Shyra you just have a way of making my day. Every time you mention cat fur I think about the time you lost a little apron and found it stuck to your cat 😂 xx
😆 I love my cats, fur and all

😆😂🤣Not Waverly making their product difficult to access!! 🤭
Perfect result!! 💜💜💜
Right?! Do any of their lids have ridges?
🤷♀
I believe i had a family member who actually had that type and color of dining set. Of course theirs was full size. Awesome job.
Ooh, nostalgic. Sounds like a nice set.
They look fantastic! Huge improvement!
I think so, too! I want my Sylvanian dollhouse to have a cozy, rustic vibe with floral and "wood" tones.
Very nice refinishing of plastic 😁 all kidding aside, they really look great. ❤
Thanks so much! 😊
So cute! 💕😊
Thank you! 😊
Nice work. Love all the different (wax/paint) trials you do on your miniatures. Have a wonderful day.
Thanks, you too!
Very nice!! ❤

Beautiful work, and your commentaries always kill me. 😂
Thank you 😊
Looks really lovely, a great transformation 😊. Now I’ve got some ideas what to do with some Sylvanian furniture I found.
Go for it! Have fun

Right?! Now I wanna go thrifting

Really charming! TFS! Kathleen
You are so welcome!
Those chairs are really cute and not so short in the legs as most, I need to find these!
Good luck! It seems like a common set.
Oh my gosh these turned out great, I love the paint job 🌼
Thanks so much 😊
It's so cute! Fantastic job!
Thank you! 😊
Holy cow, that's amazing! Funny, the original way it was you couldn't tell it had so much detail. Was it meant to be painted?
That's a good point. It really does emphasize all the details.
amazing job! you can try to cut with your exacto knife straight lines "ribs" onto the lid's side in order to open your paint, hope that helps :)
That's a good tip! Thanks
Love your posts. Thank you🎉
Glad you like them! You're welcome
Qué preciosidad. Felicitaciones
Thanks!
Hi. Is there much difference in how one would paint all wood items? Would you use a wood stain or fabricate from paint & etc?
There's no need for the sealer if you're painting wood.

👏👏👏
I've never used antique wax before. Will it make painted wood look like stained wood? Thanks for sharing.
I think so, bc you can make plastic look like wood.
Thanks so much!
Do you use a magnified light?
No. I have good eyesight up close.
Thank you ever so much for this diy! Though, I was wondering, don't you need to sand down the plastic a bit to get the paint to stick better? Or is that just an a option?
You can skip that step if you apply a matte sealer
