It's actually really nice to see what you valued for an original midi demo vs what you left out. The final balance (from what I can hear over dialogue) is different, but all the core is there. It's got a lovely feel that I'd describe as "sherlock".
At 83yrs old, my writing/arranging (Finale) now consists of working with a small church choir. Gone are the days of my public school teaching when the ‘tools’ consisted of music paper and pencils. I would love to spend some time watching you Ryan work with the advanced pro equipment available today. I believe that regardless of the technology of today, it still requires that magic ingredient called TALENT! Your videos exude your talent, Ryan. Thank you for the videos. BTW, I’ve signed up for your newsletter. “The DNA of Music . . . sounds fascinating.
So nice to hear about the process of making a soundtrack for this movie. Thank you for doing these, you give opportunity to others to learn from your experience.
Some of your samples, especially those in Rivalry, really reminded me of Old School Runescape 😅 realizing that gave me confidence with the samples and plugins I already have. Good stuff, thanks for sharing the process!
Great video! Just an FYI - you might want to high pass your mic a bit below 30-40Hz - my subwoofer is rumbling something pretty serious during your VO portions.
Thank you for sharing this! Although I find all of your videos very informative and/or entertaining, this was one of the most interesting to watch so far. 😁
Really great video, I just finished my master's thesis on film scoring with only unaccompanied choir (which I had to score prior to completing the film). It was an extremely interesting process writing music before seeing a film, especially using only voices.... Side note for future RUclips videos, you should roll off your low end, I keep hearing rumbles from your microphone.
Hi Ryan, congrats on this awesome soundtrack ! I conduct a small amateur woodwind ensemble here in France, that plays specifically various genres of film music and video games music. I'd love trying to write a woodwind arrangement of the Candy Jar title music if that's OK with you !
Hey Ryan, just wanted to mention that there's been a lot of rumble from your mic on the desk stand in this video. Maybe high pass the audio or get a different stand? I found it quite distracting.
I love doing games, but I admittedly don’t put any effort into networking which is a pretty crucial chunk of time you need to invest if you want to find projects

I don't understand. I saw all the Candy Jar credits, and there was no Ryan Leach anywhere. Why didn't they put your name on the credits, since you made the music?
I’m sorry you’re having trouble. It should be coming in an email, so maybe check your spam folder. But also I heard that there were a lot of requests and it may have been a strain on the server, some people didn’t get the email until a day later!
"Kathy's Theme" is so beautiful, Ryan! Thank you for sharing all your process with this project!

Congratulations Ryan!!! Well deserved!!!
This is actually what I need! What a perfect time!
Good for you. Glad you’re getting some good breaks.

Congratulations on the Netflix gig. The music you shared sounds good! :)
Thanks for sharing! As a composer, I find these stories fascinating.
Howard Shore also wrote material for The Lord of the Rings before filming had even begun!
thanks for your generosity and openness with your work.
Thank you Ryan. I hope to enjoy the music in the movie soon!

That was fun and informative. Cheers to your continued success Ryan.
You worked with Dwight? That's awesome

This is so cool wowowow
please fix the very low rumble issue from your desk mic.
ok
Good story

Thanks, yea I heard it on the video I edited right after but missed it on this one!
Haven't watched the movie yet but it has a very Pokémon (the video game) sounding score. Are yoy familiar with Gō Ichinose?
Ryan do you still try to compose for games or do you not want to/typically not try to?
I love doing games, but I admittedly don’t put any effort into networking which is a pretty crucial chunk of time you need to invest if you want to find projects
@@RyanLeach I think it would be pretty neat if you made some video game soundtracks!
This score feels evocative of Henry Mancini. That's a compliment, by the way.
I was curious about the e-book and did subscribe but the button to go to the e-books doesn’t seem to work 😢
Sorry to hear that, was it this one? www.masterthescore.com/downloads
Thanks for your reply. Yes, this is exactly the one. Unfortunately, nothing happens when I click the button.
Btw, I really enjoy your videos!

I'm in the opening credits not the end scroll
The website will not allow me to download the Ebook I have subscribed so many times and it keeps returning me back to the subscribe page.

Same here.
Actually, I just checked and received a mail with a link 24h after I subscribed.
@@gebla5189 oh ok
Did they use your original midi score or do they take your score and give it to real musicians?
We recorded the final score with live musicians
That's amazing. Did you get to conduct? @@RyanLeach
@@RyanLeach I bet that was an exciting process, hearing it come alive with live musicians! :)
