Lin, or Linda Lee, did a really great job. Really knowledgeable, sincere, & engaging. She makes me imagine myself in a Solis. Thanks Lin, hope to see more of your videos👍🏽😃.
Dear Winnebago, I would love to see this set up on the new Ford Transit AWD with an option to delete the pop top to save cost. Love the Revel but it not having the 3 point shoulder seating and the upright bench seat with no head rest was a big negative for me.
There are tons of existing options without a pop top, this is literally the defining feature of this new model. Please don't discourage Winnebago from making these. The loft up top allows for a permanent sleeping set up, increased sleeping airflow, more space inside, and the ability to leave the couches in dining set up.
Would definitely need an air conditioner and a large battery bank such as 8 AGM batteries that would still make this motorhome more affordable versus lithium. Also would be helpful to have a large very powerful alternator to charge the batteries with. Everything else on this motorhome love so much. Great work Winnebago!
Bravo Winnebego for building campervans and for the nice walk around and tour. It's amazing that VW has left you an open playing field by not bringing their California van to the US. This looks like a great fill of that gap.
Mr. Garfin, nice entry level, with modular design features. Suggest considering the following: 1: refrigerator; upgrade with dual side opening door which swing open from both the left or right sides commonly used in Europe RVs. Thus one can easily access both while outside and inside RV. 2: With my passion of designing and engineering modular systems, nice job incorporating modular hard and soft goods accessories. I conceptualize additional modular furniture and engineered a overhead power track system to add accessories that need low voltage power & those that don’t giving true plug, play and safely stay modular accessories that can be cross-pollinated through product lines, continuously add to sold through your dealer network with easy dealer and/or consumer installations. The overhead powered track system could be called “Winnie-Tracks & Accessories Packs” so one could add additional Plug and Play reading lights, hold and charge electronic devices cellphones, iPads, etc, usb plug in accessory adapters with cords or non corded for computers, Android, Apple formats, additional small storage baskets etc., and being smart tracks have multiplex interpretation. These systems should align with the new technology team’s mission.
Tough competition for the Hymer Aktiv and the Panoramic. Would love to see the seat convert to a bed (as many here to!) and the Hymer has 2 sky lights to really brighten it up during the day - would be a great option. Lastly, would like to see an option to buy without the pop up to save costs (again, as many here do). Otherwise, with Hymer bankruptcy and Panoramic not yet available in the US this is a great option by a reputable company. PS would love for Winnebago to respond to these comments!
18,000 USD more than a Safari Condo 159 EXT (this is not extended) www.safaricondo.com . Safari Condo has a lifting rear bed. OK people, this is 2019 - forget generators, TV's Air conditioning. Buy a Class C if you want all the extra useless stuff and the weight. I haven't owned a TV in 8 years - have you ever heard of a Laptop, tablet or the internet? AC requires a lot of power, this van (and most vans) are not designed to be sitting in RV park. Buy a Class C if that's what you want. This girl is living full time in this van and she's not complaining about the lack of a generator (OMG why would you want one), AC or TV's.
Fantastic RV. You can see the way the mind works at Winnebago. Lots of innovations that would pass most of us by. Very good sidestep of the pricing question. Plus ................. if I were 30 years younger, Linda would have to run/fly/jump pretty effectively to get away from me!!!
The first builder to make something similar to this or the Hymer Aktiv Loft with the pop top on the Ford Transit with AWD and the 3.5L EcoBoost will have my business.
I've got the 2020 Transit AWD, it's amazing in the snow in Tahoe so far this winter!! I'm building it out myself, instagram.com/van_ski_2020/ 100K without AWD is crazy!!
My Ebike should fit well in rear while traveling... kept outside at night under cover and locked to truck for security. Also a split unit ac and heat pump combo rear mounted would be goo add... like the cassette toilet and wet bath... the water saver hot water switch is great idea... outside shower tarpaulin and driver blackout another good use... and good to see full height solid ceiling for walk around even without pop top up.
Love it. Love the pop top with real sleeping for 4 people and the bench for two behind the front seats. Kind of wish it was on a MB Sprinter but frankly those aren't terribly reliable anyway and add up a huge amount of cost so perhaps just as well. I love this especially because it is a "euro-style" class B that we haven't seen much of in the U.S. at all. These days every class B looks like variations of the same MB Sprinter design (Airstream, Pleasure Way, RoadTrek, etc.) so really excited by the design of this, especially the use of practical materials. That 1 year/15,000 mile warranty is bit shady though. Hope to see this at the next Seattle RV show!
This guy quickly turned into a politician and went into verbal gymnastics mode when asked about the pricing. Fret not, folks, I looked I looked it up - it starts at $100k, about 34k cheaper than pleasure way’s ontour. Not bad at all.
imho, of course, winnebago has a winner. i like the KISS concept throughout the van. been looking a LTV which is a very nice rv. starts at 160k. the winnebago solis found its niche.
Karin Schuster I’m more partial to pleasure way’s posterior setup. I wouldn’t be hauling anything huge, so I have no need for that much cargo space. I prefer more lounge areas.
I'll guess pricing wasn't finalized on the day the video was shot. But it is now, and compared to other class B's, he wasn't wrong. It's common to preview new designs before pricing is final, so I won't blame him. I'm not one to shoot the messenger.
A no-propane option with a system similar to (if not exactly) the same as the Pure3 with an induction cooktop would be a great option. Interior and water heating could be driven by gas or even electric (a few companies specialize in highly efficient electric heaters for electric/hybrid cars as they have little if any always warm coolant to heat with.
Yes, while the pop top is great, and it's something I'd probably choose (I have very fond memories of my grandparents' 1980 VW Westfalia), I'm surprised it isn't optional. That way, they could give the Solis an even more attractive base price.
Perfect, except we need an A/C. Where we live the summers are hot AND humid, and we don't want to lie in bed sweating all night. As you plan the 2.0, please include an A/C.
To echo some others, It would be fantastic to see this without a pop-top and an A/C instead (please keep it no awning, at least as an option). It seems like the perfect starter RV for a family of 3-4 (3-point seat belts mean child seat won't be an issue) like mine, but being in Texas, no A/C crosses it off my list. Love everything about this van, just wish you could order it with A/C and maybe delete the Pop-top. Bonus points for differing chassis options, but with an A/C, I could definitely live with the ProMaster.
i just want to say, this is completely beuty right there also let's not forget this newmar fan in the chat, little did he know newmar is a company from winnebago!
hi.. firstly, I would like to say, you have nailed it, the floor plan, with the included pop top ! It is a perfect upgrade replacement for our vw westphalia ! My wife and I almost put a deposit down with our RV dealer. But, are stepping back from it, as I have read reviews on the RamPromaster chassis and its V6 gas engine and 6 speed transmission. Up to this point the reviews have not been favorable. My question is: Will you be putting the Solis on a Mercedes Benz sprinter chassis with its diesel and 7 gear transmission ? If so, we will put a downpayment on that model right away! thank-you
that would be an awesome idea. And yes, the rooftop is a must if you have a small family. There aren't many choices out there (with Hymer not offering any warranties) to travel with 4 people or a small family.
I wouldn't hesitate. It's going to be a lot more reliable than a 30-40 year old VW, that's for sure. Any Dodge dealer and most independents will be able to work on these things. A Sprinter platform would add 20-30 grand to your cost, and there goes the whole idea of an affordable pop-top Class B. $20,000 will buy a lot of transmissions, which should be fine for a long time if you change the fluid every 30,000 miles (outside of manufacturing defects, the people who have problems with transmissions tend to be the same people who neglect their preventative maintenance).
I’m glad to see Winnebago produce a lower price class B with a pop-top, 4 season cap., great interior storage, and solar. Is there an inverter (2000 watt please)? Nice vid. By the way. My wife and I are very interested. Please add a fan to the bath.
We're pretty pumped too, Brett! Thanks for tuning in. Keep in eye out for when the Solis will be hitting dealer lots so you can check it out in person.
Yeah, you probably don't want to use a ProMaster in that way. The Ford Transit platform is getting optional AWD for 2020 though. If Winnie could outfit one of those similarly to the Solis, that would be pretty sweet. It would probably add 10-20 grand to the base price though, and it might be more cramped. The Promaster has a wider body than the Transit, and it's a very economical starting point for Winnie to build upon.
Thanks for your feedback, Mark. We continue to introduce new enhancements to all of our products, so feel free to keep checking back for floorplans. We'll pass your comments along to our product team in the meantime.
So can I get the pop top on the Revel? That's really what has been keeping me from getting a 144 High Roof 4x4 Sprinter because the pop-tops are only available on the low roofs.
I would also like seeing chest freezer/fridges like Engel MT45s instead of the traditional RV refrigerator. They work fantastic on any surface I park on, and they're a million times more efficient since the cold air stays in the freezer instead of being spilled ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL over the floor whenever I open it!
Will there be enough room to add an AC behind the pop-up in place of the vent? I understand keeping the base price attractive, but it would be a nice option, along with a 120 volt system (there appears to be none in the base model), and "dual-fuel" propane/electric Truma Combi for the campground crowd. If technically feasible, a compact microwave/convection oven would go great with the 120 volt option as well. If a rooftop AC could be fitted where the vent fan is now, it looks like there's just enough room to move the vent fan over to the port side of the roof, although that would wreck the aesthetically pleasing symmetry of the rear end. I love the idea of having both, but that's probably more than Winnie would want to take on as a factory option. The overall look is important on a class B. (That might not stop me from trying on my own camper though.)
No AC??? Did I miss something or did Winnebago just shut out the South as potential customers. Also, you can't hook up water without having the doors open?
I currently own a 2019 Travato K at 6’2” I’ve always hated the curved upper cabinet doors. can you add these flat doors and the new drawer door latches to the Travato I plan to buy a Travato KL Pure 3 package when you release 2021 next spring.
@@WinnebagoRVs Have you seen the HYMER build? Their innovative RV gives a great way to use storage as a stairwell to the pop top. The converting toilet/shower setup is amazing too. For the Google, Facebook, and Silicon Valley startup crowd. A $200,000 USD High-End RV that can fit onsite in our parking lots isn't a bad idea. It's cheaper, roomier, and more private than paying 2000 + Cost of Commute to San Francisco for a bunk bed in a 400 sq foot apartment.
Some nice things there. The Solis looks like one of the few vans out there that has room for gear. Seems more useful than the Travato G. On their website it only comes in white and red? The two worst van colors available......say wha? They have to be kidding.
I'd like like a green one. It's a pretty classic van color. But the deep cherry red looks pretty sharp in my opinion (and Dodge doesn't appear to offer green anyway--although they do offer blue and silver, either of which would be even better than red). I'm sure of one thing: I wouldn't spend 100 large for something that looks just like a base fleet van.
Hey John, the Solis is not 4X4. Freshwater capacity is 21 gallons. You can find all specs here: winnebagoind.com/products/class-b/2020/solis/specifications
@@WinnebagoRVs thanks but maybe I should have asked why someone would want an angled vs one that goes straight up that will provides a 360 degree view?
Hey Burton, good question. The Solis is just an inch shy of the Revel in length, at 19'6". See all specs here: winnebagoind.com/products/class-b/2020/solis/specifications
Winnebago thanks for the answer! It’s odd it looks like this interior has more space than the revel. Maybe it’s just the layout? We’ve really wanted a Revel, but trying to decide if the 4x4 is worth the extra $60k. We really like this layout and the pop up adds a lot of options
This layout is almost perfect. Only if they remove the pop-top option, add a black tank and an air conditioning unit.... Travato doesn't offer this plan...
Nice van. HOWEVER... I have a major concern with the stove burners being directly next to the entrance. Seems dangerous with children going in and out. They could easily bump a boiling pot of water. Wish the stove top traded places with the sink.
Make the children behave. (They usually only touch a hot stove once anyway.) You don't want to swap the sink and the burners, as that would put the burners right next to the bed.
I really wish the designer would think about how hard it is to crawl around on the floor to open those door cabinets and fridge. Not everyone has acrobatic experience or are able to twist without shouting. It would be awesome if someone could figure out removable or transition seating for the “grandkid” bench. It is wasted space for two adults...90% of the time...but nice for those times we want to bring kids or friends is also important.
@@WinnebagoRVs So your replying like a bot to the words air conditioning. You could have put a unit under those two seats behind the driver. And good luck selling those in Oregon only. I love the van. It’s awesome. But let’s be real. It was hot this summer and by and large that’s when vacations happen. Solis 2.0 needs AC. You can put an AC in a sailboat you can put on e in this.
@@juketreks2192 Yes unfortunately that makes it a non starter for a great many people. $100K so that you can lay inside and sweat in the majority of the states for a good part of the year and a few states year round. This otherwise looks like a nice rig.
That top deck looks a lot like the Pleasureway Tofino and when Ms Lee was up there it didn’t look like it was the 79” mentioned in the specs. More like 72” like the Tofino.
@@CanadianTexaninLiguria I can understand why it wouldn't be necessary for a person of average height. Unfortunately it is not the best option for tall people who are 6'5" and taller. Also the pop top option affords extra sleeping in the Recon or Sportsmobile design where the entire ceiling opens up providing 8' + interior height, light and ventilation. That's impressive. At night fold the ceiling down to provide extra sleeping space for 2 more people / kids. I like this van and many of the others but I am still leaning towards the retractable ceiling pop top for all of those reasons. It's a personal preference.
@@CanadianTexaninLiguria Interior height is listed at 6' 2" - so not too tall for tall people. .... and I will bet that is measured from the lower floor rather than from the raised floor in the back. Like most things, it will be good for some and not do good for others, depending upon one's needs. I am 6'4" - and stooping just a little can quickly become very uncomfortable.
Since you guys probably have the ears of the people at Winnebago, I’m going to write a little tirade… Hopefully it will make it to them. It’s really frustrating that none of the big RV manufacturers are trying to cater to young Van lifers. There’s literally thousands of videos on RUclips of young people converting and living in vans. It’s a real movement that every manufacturer is ignoring. They are missing a huge market and I’m going to tell you why… I don’t know how it is in the United States, but here in Canada you can finance these vans for 20 years which actually makes them very affordable for most people if they’re living in it full-time. This particular Solis could be financed for about $800 a month - and remember, this would eliminate a car payment for a lot of people as well. I have been selling real estate in Toronto for close to 20 years. In that time I’ve seen the average rent price of a one bedroom apartment go from $1000 a month to almost $2500/month. I’m very confident that if a manufacturer were to make a van that one could easily live off-grid stealthily like a condo in a cargo van for $800 a month they would sell thousands of them. The Solis is the closest I’ve seen to what I’m talking about by any of the large manufacturers, however without lithium batteries or even a microwave it makes it not an option for most people. It’s so sad that I’m going to have to spend $200,000 to get one custom-made just so I can live comfortably because the people at Winnebago don’t want to put the proper battery system in it.
5:50 Why doesn’t that lounge window shade roll down out of sight into a slot? That ugly design with the always in sight perimeter material and clumsy zippers as your strain over the table is terrible. Love so much of the rest of the video tho!The dog loops under the step, the floor light backlight for the water meter...just add a roll up door mat that retracts under the side step up so the entry way to the van can be covered.
I personally think that the Winnebago execs are losing it. First they come out with the Merc Benz version of the Travato, when all the Ram Travato needed was some redesign on the engine to improve performance. Now they are sticking a family of four in a mini Travato with a pop top. Four people in basically three less feet of space from the Original Travato 59G - which BTW is also a four person camper. Whatever new styling they have in this Solis could have easily been adapted to the 59G - except for that "YAY" cassette toilet that just does not work for US based diets. A family of four hearty eaters with a cassette toilet. I think Winnebago is losing it. They have two proven designs in the original Travato "G" and "K". What - - they couldn't put a pop top on one of those? And as for the other "upgrades", they could have easily transitioned those features to the Travato models as well.
Lin, or Linda Lee, did a really great job. Really knowledgeable, sincere, & engaging. She makes me imagine myself in a Solis. Thanks Lin, hope to see more of your videos👍🏽😃.

The Promaster has a wider body than the Transit, and it's a very economical starting point for Winnie to build upon.
Thanks Joseph!
I'm still waiting for a Winnebago Solis with a floor plan of Travato GL.
Thanks for your feedback, Mark. We continue to introduce new enhancements to all of our products, so feel free to keep checking back for floorplans. We'll pass your comments along to our product team in the meantime.
Almost perfect. Was everything I was looking for until I realized no air conditioner 😕
You can get the pop top with an air conditioner
Hi Russ, yes it's about time ;p
Sorry for the delay, Stephanie. Hair and makeup for Russ took a little longer than anticipated. ;)
Will there be any way to convert the from seating area into a bed? Maybe an additional option?
Lot's of great design features. I didn't see an air conditioner? Is it an option?
Hi John, there is a MaxAir fan in the rear of the coach above the double bed as well as a roof vent in the pop top, but no roof A/C.
Is there a/c in this RV?
Hi there, here is a deluxe powered ventilator fan in the rear above the double bed and a roof vent in the pop top, but no roof AC.
Can you add a air conditioner because a cent fan isnt enough to keep it cool
There is a deluxe powered ventilator fan in the rear above the double bed. And a roof vent in the pop-top, no fan.
pretty cool. would prefer sprinter chassis
Nice! Are the 3rd &4th seats easily removed if not needed?
My guess would be that there are van systems under the bench seat like in a travato. Probably the water heater or batteries/inverter.
Nice Unit.
Thanks, Kevin! Appreciate you tuning in.
Wait no ac? Big problem. That bed looks a little flimsy. Is that wood strong enough? What’s the weight capacity?
where can I see an equipment list?
Great addition to the W Class B lineup! Can it be outfitted with the Volta Pure 3?
No, the Solis is not equipped with the Pure3 system.
I hope you answer! 😊 Are you guys in the UK or just in the US?
We're currently only in the U.S. and Canada.
@@WinnebagoRVs thx for letting me know ☺️
No AC??? Did I miss something or did Winnebago just shut out the South as potential customers. Also, you can't hook up water without having the doors open?
Do I have to keep rear door open while connecting to city water?
Thanks for asking! Yes, the rear door must be kept open when connected to city water.
I currently own a 2019 Travato K at 6’2” I’ve always hated the curved upper cabinet doors. can you add these flat doors and the new drawer door latches to the Travato
I plan to buy a Travato KL Pure 3 package when you release 2021 next spring.
Thanks for the feedback, Rob. We're always interested in hearing from owners and how we can improve. We'll share your comment with our product team.
How is white the worst van color? Absorbs the least amount of heat.
You still avoided stating the price. It looks nice. I still like my View.
The View is a great ride. For more details about the Solis, feel free to check out the site: winnebagoind.com/products/class-b/2020/solis/overview
Sorry, the MSRP price for Solis is $100,667.
Winnebago thank you😊
Very Nice! Drop a 4 cyl Cummins in and they couldn't keep them on the showroom floor.
He sure danced around what the price is ?
Hey there, MSRP for Solis is $100,667.
please tell me if it comes in 4x4? and... with all water topped up, how long could one live off grid for?
Hey John, the Solis is not 4X4. Freshwater capacity is 21 gallons. You can find all specs here: winnebagoind.com/products/class-b/2020/solis/specifications
Why do some popups go straight up and others are angled?
Hey there, this is simply a difference in construction. The Solis' pop top is angled and raises on hinges and gas springs.
@@WinnebagoRVs thanks but maybe I should have asked why someone would want an angled vs one that goes straight up that will provides a 360 degree view?
Love 💕 it💔💓💗💞💕
With a name like solis you should have more solar panels and 400A of lithium
Easy to add. Its a no brainer
I have a Zamp 175 watts and have no problem keeping my 300A Battle Born charged
I can’t tell, which wheel base is this? Is it the size of the Revel or is it longer?
Hey Burton, good question. The Solis is just an inch shy of the Revel in length, at 19'6". See all specs here: winnebagoind.com/products/class-b/2020/solis/specifications
Winnebago thanks for the answer! It’s odd it looks like this interior has more space than the revel. Maybe it’s just the layout? We’ve really wanted a Revel, but trying to decide if the 4x4 is worth the extra $60k.
We really like this layout and the pop up adds a lot of options
Did I miss it? Lithium? Generator what?
No lithium is available in the Solis.
This layout is almost perfect. Only if they remove the pop-top option, add a black tank and an air conditioning unit.... Travato doesn't offer this plan...
Thanks for your feedback, John. We are passing it along to the product team.
Remove the pop top, add A/C and a rack and me and a lot of people will be all over this.
Nice van.
Liesure Travel Vans. The way to go, if you got $150,000 to spend. It just is -- not to put Winnebago down. Real talk!
Like it! 👍
Was Air Conditioning mentioned?
In the rear above the double bed, there is a deluxe powered ventilator fan. The pop top has a vent available but no fan.
I guess winnebago bought a lot of surplus parts from the hymer warehouse liquidation sale
That top deck looks a lot like the Pleasureway Tofino and when Ms Lee was up there it didn’t look like it was the 79” mentioned in the specs. More like 72” like the Tofino.
Awesome!
I'd rather be able to open up the entire ceiling like the Recon or Sportsmobile to create more height in lower space. My honey is 6'8".
This is a high roof van to begin with - its unnecessary.
Thanks for your thoughtful comment, we will pass your feedback along to our team.
Looks like a great van! Was anybody else annoyed by how the guy kept interrupting the girl? Kinda rude.
He gets an ata boy for the great introduction of the van, but sadly he gets an ah-shit on his answer for pricing..
Don't shoot the messenger. Pricing probably wasn't available the day this preview was recorded.
Can you get it in a 4x4?
Hi Kathy, Solis is not 4x4 and we do not have plans for it at this time.
Please bring them to Europe...
Stoked ….LOL!
I laughed too! It’s funny “stoked” has made a comeback. We dropped this word a lot in the 80’s!
No AC ???? You will die in there at night no one is sleeping 😴 with the doors open even if they did still to hot 🥵 and humid
i'd to see the engine, dashboard and hear about gas mileage thanks

AND NO PRICE..REALLY!
Hey Miles, MSRP for Solis is $100,667.
@@WinnebagoRVs Thank you..i had a reply from someone else..thanks Winnebago!
It needs a black tank
Nice but only affordable for wealthy
oh no, again the bathroom in the middle of the van. Common they should copy axion van, more space and bathroom on the back.
Bathroom in the back doesn't work as well for an "adventure van" as you lose all the rear storage space.
Back is the worst place for a bathroom - mine is in the front.
This is the perfect location. I hate rear bathrooms.
So it's a travato with a crappy bathroom, no AC, and a poptop for like $30k more?
Hey there, the Solis is priced below Travato, at $100,667. winnebagoind.com/products/class-b/2020/solis/overview
Very cool except you used the ugliest van chassis on the market. Sprinter and Ford are much easier on the eyes.
All vans are ugly , but beautiful where it counts in functionality and manuverability.
@@stanw909 I think the Sprinter is quite attractive. The Ram looks like it was born with an extra chromosome.
Promaster Rocks - try driving one before making uneducated statements.
@@CanadianTexaninLiguria Why would I educate myself on the Rosie O'Donnell of vans?
