This is awesome fella’s, I just bought a nice battery tender charger and was hoping it would be the same plug so I got on the tube to see if it would work since it wasn’t the same connector and here you guys are. Thanks a ton
I have a 2020 fatboy…. I bought the larger battery tender of the same brand…. All I’m getting is the flashing red light which means it’s not charging…. My battery has enough juice to start on its own, although it takes a little while… (so the battery shouldn’t be too dead) Any thoughts?
What I have noticed in the past the battery has to be pretty good and charged before a tender will take it to full charge. May want to charge it completely and then use the tender. Tony
I have been told there is a inline fuse. You can check voltage from the plug on the bike. The exposed one should be ground the other two should have voltage on them. Tony
Just picked up a '93 Sportster 883 over the weekend, missed a day yesterday, go out to the garage today and the starter just clicks. Should this help me out? 🤔
Literally same thing just happened to me. Bought one, later in the day tried to get it started and it just clicked. The previous owner said he kept it on a battery tender, so I’m thinking maybe the battery is done for. Did you end up replacing the battery? Did you get it fixed?
@@ChezzusChrist yeah! I took it back to the shop I got it from and he checked it out, turned out to be the starter! He had a working unit on the shelf and replaced it at no cost.
@@Tacopusher oh wow so it wasnt the battery. Were you able to start it when you first bought it though? or did you buy it not running and just making the clicking sound?
So my mechanic told me that because I’m gone a week at a time I can’t leave my battery tender on my bike for a week at a time I can only do it daily ????
Thanks Mike and Tony, not a 15-minute video. Short and simple, thanks fellas!!!
Glad to be of assistance, Tony

Dude u been looking for this video for a week. Right to the point
@@HandlebarGardenhi, can I use it also to jump start the bike?
@@lucaraimondo5967 from what I understand that's not possible or advised. Tony
@@HandlebarGarden thanks Tony fortunately I asked before damaging my bike !

Is there a fuse inline to the battery from there? My tender won’t charge and I got nothing on my meter when checking coming off the battery. Thanks

Just curious, what is that 3rd port used for? I have the same one that came on my harley.
HD makes a 3 pin connector but it's not necessary. Tony
@@HandlebarGarden For an issue I'm having which one is positive
@@NewLifeFromTheWayofTruth the one that's bare is ground. The other two are positive, hot all the time

It could be, although a good battery would take some time to run down. But a battery will last longer if it's kept at full capacity. Tony

what is this empty port?
What do you do after,
Just let it charge
How long should I leave it to charged?
Most battery tenders auto shut off, no need to unplug unless riding

Mine doesnt have that? Why not?
Depends on year model etc
@handlebargarden I can’t for the life of me find any info on a 2016 883 if it has the port bc I can’t find it 😂😂
So wtf!? This ain't working on my hog!!
What is the third port used for?
Could be used for gear from what I understand. It does have battery voltage on it. Tony
