Where do you keep track of one-step to do’s that are more than 2 minutes but not a project? I seem to have this random list. Maybe clearing the random list one task at a time is a project in and of itself? Example....a phone call to the IRS, place an order for checks, mail a package, return a shirt that’s in the car....you get the idea. And I don’t want to put them on the calendar because they don’t have to be done on any specific day. Thanks for your help! Loved this video by the way. It shows that if a person sets up your system, even after a trip away, they can come back and get life back on track fairly quickly because there’s a system! Love it!❤️

This is a year too late, but the answer to those 1-step tasks that do not have to be done on a specific day or date is to put them on your Context Based Next Actions List (or CBNAL). Just think it through - the categories April set up are: Home - Away - Computer - Phone - To Discuss - Work. It would look like this:
      Phone: Call IRS
      Computer: Place order for checks
Away: Take package to post office
Away: Return shirt (in car) to store
It comes out better in the template (or sometimes I just make my own with those categories) on the learndobecome website or on the facebook page Step.learndobecome and become a member, go to the "More" tab and the dropdown "Files". There you will see printables.

I’m loving your videos! Just having a hard time seeing how to incorporate these things when I’m with my kids most of the day. As a homeschool mom of three, and two of which are a baby and toddler 😅

So, so glad you are here! I actually built my first Command Central when our children were 10, 8, 7, and 2, so I HEAR you! This podcast page has a photo of my first set-up: learndobecome.com/episode71/
Essentially, you're going to want a space that is yours and yours alone--where you can do your thinking work. Typically I did mine during quiet time, nap time, or in the mornings/evenings when our children were in bed. When you can map out your projects, next actions, routines, calendar items, etc. during quiet time, then you can be really present during the day while you're following your plan--and adjusting to the needs of your children. The secret really is TINY steps outlined in advance and organized by context.
Not sure if you're thinking about joining our STEP program, but we have a STEP Mastery version that comes with a full STEP Library--including bonuses like "STEP in the Life of the Perry Family" and lots of examples that worked when our children were younger. I even have a ton of "just for moms" resources I could add to that STEP Library if that would be helpful for you! The community and coaching in there is awesome, when/if you're ready for it!
Our introductory class for STEP is LearnDoBecome.com/STEP.
And, of course, I'll keep recording videos here on the channel, so if there's something specific you think would make a good video, please let me know! You have a lot going on--and I'd love to make your life easier. :) xoxo

Thank you for this. I needed it today. I’ve just begun the process and haven’t gotten to command central yet, so all my to do’s and projects seem to be piling up even more while I’m learning and setting up this system. So again, thanks.

Thanks for your comment, Amy. You're on your way! It can feel overwhelming at first because you're "catching up" in a way. Once you've got your system built things will be running smoothly in no time at all. If you're a Mastery member, be sure to connect with our STEP Mastery Facebook group as well. The members there are so supportive and helpful! Thanks for being with us!

You are the best. I am so happy to watch your videos, even when I miss them and it's a year later than I realize it. I am working through a pile that has evolved during an unexpected extra-busy 3 months, but my system is in place. So I just get motivated and happier when watching you, April (and Eric) at the same time!
