    Very nice. I wasn't prepared for the height on this thing, haha. In some hypothetical future where I have money, this is a definite buy.

    I believe that it is actually based on a specimen that is though to be an immature individual. It's the same as their previous Spinosaurus model. So it can be 1/35 if you don't assume that they were born full sized.
    Also size variation is a thing. I don't get why some people get hung up on scale based on the largest possible estimate. As long as it's relative size to other species is representative of the group, and it is within a size range that's realistic, it's good for me.

    It would be neat if you had a classic Carnegie Brachiosaurus to compare.

    My figure arrived yesterday and I have a very strange problem. The paint peels off simply by touching or handling the figure. Has it happened to someone else?

    • @andysdinosaurreviews
      @andysdinosaurreviews  6 месяцев назад

      That is extremely strange. I would contact PNSO or whatever store you purchased from.

      The proportions are not observed - the neck is too long in relation to the body. Any reconstruction confirms this.

    Don't really like the paint scheme and the size can be considered as a juvenile sauropod i guess but I am going to get the 1/35 scale of this instead and make them look like a parent / child combo.

    • @thomasmonroe7947
      @thomasmonroe7947 7 месяцев назад

      I was thinking the same. The sculpt is great, I’m not adversely put off by the paint job but it’s just too small. I did order it. Won’t invest any more money in anything that can’t equate out to match my majority of 1/35 figures so I’m really looking forward to what Haolonggood might be releasing. Don’t want to go broke but my guess is, sauropods could be done in the larger scale and not break the bank. It’s been done by Rebor with their diplodocus and PNSO did it with their hollow figures years ago. Cheers!

    And I have to absolutely call CAP Andrew! "Too costly"?!? That doesn't appear to be affecting Haolonggood (and from what I understand, they're going to do it FOUR times over beginning with THEIR Alamosaurus)! The crazy thing is as I'm viewing this review, mine was delivered! The comparison that should've occurred is with the Era Terra Patagotitan. In real life, they were of similar size.

    • @andysdinosaurreviews
      @andysdinosaurreviews  8 месяцев назад

      Haolonggood is taking a big chance by releasing their figures in that scale. I'm hoping it turns out to be a good idea bug it's concerning to me. I'm worried they'll be way too expensive.

    • @andysdinosaurreviews
      @andysdinosaurreviews  8 месяцев назад

      Also I considered doing that comparison but I put my Patagotitan up on display and it's in a hard to get to spot so it would have been horrible to try taking it back down, lol.

    • @tharukkus
      @tharukkus 8 месяцев назад

      @@andysdinosaurreviews My Patagotitan is readily available so I'll make the comparison when I record my review later today. I already lined them up. Night & day size-wise.

    It is a beautiful sculpt. Mine arrived today. I even appreciate the paint job.
    It is, however, even smaller than I had thought.
    So I’m looking forward to Haolonggood’s sauropod figures coming out in 1/35.
    If I knew then what I know now, I might not have picked this one up.
    It is an awesome looking figure.
    Just like a lot of figures being produced these days, it’s too expensive.
    If you can find it for $50 and aren’t stuck on 1/35, it will be a great addition to your collection.
    At a little over $70, I’ve convinced myself not to invest any more money in PNSO figures that don’t complement their numerous 1/35 offerings.

  • @roadster211
    @roadster211 8 месяцев назад +1

    Certainly a very beautiful model. Why doesn't PNSO also offer the dinosaur in 1:35 scale? Perhaps as a hollow vinyl figure, possibly with an attachable neck and tail? That would keep the pack size and weight down. And I'm absolutely certain that many collectors would pay the higher price.

  • @shmuelbaranetc5282
    @shmuelbaranetc5282 8 месяцев назад

    They can still make the bigger models in parts,like the body,neck and tail separate

  • @HughGort
    @HughGort 8 месяцев назад +1

    Disappointment. I understand the mentality behind buying something rare to make it more common, but I refuse to reward bad work. It works both ways. You buy this, and they'll completely stop caring about scale. I don't want a tiny alamosaurus, I don't want a 6 inch velociraptor, I don't want wonky scales coming out of the same company. I'll wait until someone else makes one that's good, maybe a resin kit.

    • @andysdinosaurreviews
      @andysdinosaurreviews  8 месяцев назад

      It's actually still pretty decently sized. Although if you are looking for a true 1/35 scale version Haolonggood will be releasing one!

    • @laya8880
      @laya8880 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@andysdinosaurreviewsI'll take this anyday, I'm not so concerned about scale that I would pass this up. Perfect size sauropod to me, not too big, not too small, I can fit it on a shelf. I stick to PNSO because they have a decent balance of price, quality, and practicality.
